I WILL JUMP IN THE 20.00 LEAGUE IF THERE IS A OPENING
  3. I think both Bennett and Hester have between 60 and 70 catches. With Bennetts YPC at 11 and Hesters at 14. I think Bennett has 4 TDs and Hester 8. I think we will have Olson catching in that range and Forte around 50. So what it amounts to is we will be spreading the ball around quite a bit, with Olson becoming a pro bowl TE and Forte, one of the top 4 RBs in the NFC. So I think we get the job done without a #1 per say, and will look to add another WR next offseason.
  4. As much as we want a number one, I think sitting pat and let the cream rise to the top with the WRs we have. Next year there are several stud WRs up for FAgency. Roddy White, Brandon Mashall, Braylon Edwards, Antonio Bryrant, and TO is on a one year deal. Also V. Jackson from SD is up for contract. We should play the hand out and then grab a FA after we find out what we have and maybe by then we will have our own star on the team.
  5. I think the fact we were in the running for a playoff spot figured into the equation for letting the vets play. Looking back, as bad as our WRs were, how could he not get a chance to show his stuff. The coaching choices on this team amaze me sometimes.
  6. forget about Marshall , he will cost us to much, when we can get Plax for just a bowl of money. We have to pay Cutler at some point in time and beside wha we give up , he will want around 10 mill a year. Save the money and get a one and done WR like Plax and get back to the SB.
  7. I too would like to develope our young WRs but we are poised to go back to the Super Bowl and Plax would get us closer to it than our young wideouts. Give him a one year incentive laden deal and we still have room to develope some talent. We are so close to a run at the SB lets go for it now.
  8. With all the talk about tools like Burress, jail time up in the air, Matt Jones, drug problems following him, and Marshall, women abuser, how about someone normal? These three are all talented but have issuses, I would like to throw another name in the hat, Drew Bennett. He is a big guy at 6'5", and doesnt have a criminal record. He has had some lnjuries the last two years, but his three years at Tenn, he averaged 61 receptions, 907 yards and 6 TDs. He has the ability to move the chains, in his last 217 receptions he has 158 first downs. He is not the glamour guy that some of the tools are, but is a vet, has been productive, and capable of having an impact from day 1. We have some younger guys that have yet to prove themselfs and am all for letting giving them the chance but if they fail, we dont have anyone to put in there place. At least with Bennett he has shown some production, and is the big guy we want Rideau and Ingelsis to be. He will come cheap and once training camp begins will give us another option to look at. I think we need a veteran to add to the mix if the younger guys arent ready yet. What do you think?
  9. Maybe next years 2nd and Idonije(the perfect size for a 3-4 DE). The problem is McDaniels keeps losing up scale players and the fanbase will be out for blood, since winning will be difficult there first year. I dont see it happening.
  10. If Dungy hadnt noticed but millioniare football players have egos, and there all are falling over themselfs. Not everyone can be a Walter Payton and keep it in prospective by being humble. I want my QB to thinks hes good, and if he doesnt sign everybodies autograph, no big deal. What is important is does his teammates like him and so far seems to gaining friends on the team. It seems like some media are always looking for the negitive, and thats life in the big city. If he plays well and his teammates are behind him, I will accept an inflated ego once in awhile. Its all good. I think its funny how what didnt hear what a jerk he was till he butted heads with a ego trippin coach, and both didnt act in a professional way but we got Cutler because of it, and couldnt be more excited.
  11. I am interested in your league for fun or money, the only problem I will have is in my other leagues I get in there are only a couple of Bear fans,. so I always got the Bears D, grabbed Forte, which I wont get by with in later rounds in this league, so that might be a disadvantage in some respects, but always up to the competition.
  12. I think the Boldin issue is dead. I think the ace in the hole is Burress. We will get to look at our team, and by the time Plax finds out his punishment, if he says has 8 to 12 games to play, we go out and grab him, to finish our Offensive upgrade. Otherwise, there will be some cuts that could give us a pleasant surprize, just dont know that move yet.
  13. Even if we didnt get Cutler, this could very well be the best off season we have ever had. Filled needs, changed the coaching staff, and finally got back from the last two ego driven years where the powers that be were full of themselfs. Two average seasons brought us back to earth and are headed in a great direction towards a Superbowl.
  14. The best WR we had on the Bears was Kennan McCardell, unfortunately didnt stay long enough to show it here. The Jaguars had to suffer with his carrer.
  15. I think Hilly will be the odd man out, does he play on special teams? Williams will back up Urlacker and Freeman will back up Briggs.
  16. He is worth checking out and if they deem him capable he can be our pos WR, let him and Rideau fight for that spot.
  17. Actually I think Olsen doesnt count as a suprize player. He had good stats last year, and I would think everyone expects him to be better this year, so not a suprize player to me. Anything good from Gilbert will definity fall in that class.
  18. It is quite boring right now with all the expectations coming and the moves we have made, I just want to jump to August. But until then, who is the biggest suprize of 2009? Not a Cutler, or Briggs making the Pro Bowl again, but someone we dont expect to be one of the stars? Mine is Earl Bennett, nothing to lead me to believe why he would be, but we have a QB and there old friends and someone will emerge as a star, I am calling Earl the one.
  19. Every team has questions marks at the begining of the year. Is Tom Brady ready to play after a year off? Can Adrian Peterson stay healthy for a full year? You have to look at the overall picture and take a reading on it. Going into last year we had more questions than this year and was one play away from being a playoff team. Look at the brightside We have a capable qb that can win us some games with the outcome on his shoulders, instead of hoping Orton could do it. Our OL with be better than last year, as we have added more beef and better players and more depth. Much less of a question than last year. Plus we have a qb with feet. We have more talent at WR than last year, which brings with it question marks, but we now have a better qb to help those WRs play better. Our RBs will no longer see 8 man fronts, and with Jones being healthy, our RB committee will be much more effecient. Our defense has some new blood and depth and an offense than will put them on the field less, and other teams playing from behind will add to our overall effiency. Our coaching staff is now off the big head they got from an apperance in the Super Bowl and can get back to proven themselfs once again.
  20. You can list these stats and have many different opinions on them. The question is can our QB make consistent long throws ? To use the over 31 yards stats, can be misleading because those passes are usually desperation passes in a game and means the team is behind and has to attempt them. Stats to look at: 21 to 30 yard throws. Orton- 17/46/472 5-tds 1-int Cutler-23/53/751 7-tds 3-int Manning-14/40/385 2-tds 1-int What do these stats say? Is Orton better than Peyton? Can Cutler throw a deep pass consistently? Stats to look at: All passes over 21 yards Orton-18/57/504 Cutler-27/80/944 Manning/ 21/58/848 What do these stats say? Being a bad team comes into play. Team philosophy. Playing from behind, so many things contributes to stats what do you want it to say? What I read from this is Cutler can throw a deep pass, and may be better than average at it.
  21. He left Buffalo without a contract so that could be good news for us, considering he knows Lovie.
  22. I think we have enough projects on the team, we now need to embrace what we have, Jay Cutler! Bennett will lead the team in recepitions,. forget who he was last year. Hester will be better. Olsen will be all pro this year. Forte will be one of the top three rbs in the NFC. Our offense will be one of the top 10 in the league this year and I am an optimist.
  23. We have so much to look forward to and so much to forget.
  24. There is no way Hester has 80 balls threw to him. We will throw to our TEs, RB, and Bennett will be the leading receiver. Here is how I see it. Bennett 72-around 800 yards and 4 TDs Hester 61- around 900 yards and 8 TDs Olsen 59- around 700 yards and 6 TDs Forte 46 - around 500 yards and 4 TDs Clark 41- around 400 yards and 2 TDs Iglesias 32- around 400 yards and 2 TDs Knox 12- around 200 yards and 2 TDs Cutler will throw for around 3900 yards and 28 TDs
