anyway you look at it, you get a better selection(if you know what your doing)at 19 than in the second round.
-
It depends on who is sitting there at 19. If someone like Coples, we should take him.
-
I think we address that in FAgency, someone like Atowge, Hope, Leonhard, Bell will sign for a min. for a job, and can fill in in a chance one of the young guys dont develope. Maybe a late draft pick, 6 or 7.
-
A high draft pick that takes Roachs place and slides to MLB or WLB wouldnt be a bad thing. What if Kuechly drops? I think we can find a high rated player at a position of need but he is a stud and the BPA , you never know. Get him, play him SLB and dont give Urlacher more money when his contract runs out.
-
I think we need to add another WR prospect, but it doesnt have to be early. IF Marshall gets some kind of a suspension it changes everything. I think one more added to the bunch is a necessary, but in the 3rd or 4th can still be a good player. Hester is just going to be a special play guy, maybe in on 25% of the plays, so I dont think you can count him at a top 3 Wideouts.
-
I would say a min. contract compared to a 3 year, 8 mill. contract is quite a bit of difference. I dont know about what he might get but if it is twice the min. , I understand why you go with that.
-
I think the possiblity exists that a high draft pick could be a LB. Our depth at LB sucks.
-
Tell me who is better? Other than Tillman, not the top of the food chain.
-
Hes not a stud, but is now the second best CB on the roster. Now that we have him in the fold, I would say DL will be our first pick. With also the need of another DT, I think that the BPA at DE or DT will be our first rounder.
-
Emery stated that they offered Okoye a contract and he has decided to take visits with several clubs.
-
With all the OL draft info I read Glenn is starting to get my fancy, he is projected as a guard but can play OT. So he would give us the option of LG,RT, or even LT if needed. He is rated as a very good player and listed as a potential all pro. I think if one of the top DEs arent there, I would grab him before Martin or Adams.
-
I think we will address CB but can get a good one to fit our system in the 3rd or 4th.I am chilling on Martin as I read more about him and dont think he is worth the 19th pick. Adams has a risk factor so I think Mercilusl,Ingram, or Coples if he is there will be our first pick.
-
I agree with you on Mercilus, other than if Coples drops. I prefer a OL in the second, but I think Randle is one of the better WRs this year and would have no problem if they took him.

Close to the draft, looking at what we got; QB- With Cutler, Campbell, and McGown, we now have a legit backups for a potential problem. Throw Enderle to the scrap heap. RB-Forte, Bush,Bell,Allen and throw in Klutz and we wont be drafting at this position. I would say rock solid at RB. TE-Davis, Spaeth, Adams stick and the A. Smith, and D. Ross will be gone. Not a position of strength but a wait to see with Davis. I dont think think we will draft. WR- Marshall,Bennett,Hester,Davis, Weems,Thomas, Sanz, and Komar. I dont count Knox because I dont think he plays this year. We still need to draft another prospect to be a #2. I think Bennett is a #3 on a good team. Hester a special play guy and not sure what we have with the rest of wide outs. OT-Webb,Carmi,Horn. Defitinely will be drafting one. Webb sucks,Carimi off of injury and the possiblity of Williams coming over makes him a swing taclke. I think we will draft with one of first 2 picks. OG- E. Williams,Louis,Henry,Stephens, Wroto. I think if they draft a OT they keep C. Williams at OG and dont draft one. If they move him to OT will draft a OG. Spencer can also play OG. OC-Garza, Spencer. We wont address it this year, but if Konz would drop to the second round, I would take him and move Garza to OG. So on offense we will draft another WR, OT and depending on how the draft falls at the other OL positions. Konz out of the first round would be a steal and I think we would have to take him, he is that highly regarded.
-
If there going with Davis, they really dont need to draft another TE, we have 5 on the roster right now.K Davis, Adams, Spaeth,A.Davis,Ross. So we have other needs we need to address before TE. I am not sure about Davis, but we cant fix everything in one off season.
-
You forgot Spencer. and I agree with the picks.
-
I totally agree with you on the importance of the OLine and we havent addressed that, but hopefully the draft gets us some help. It is impossible to get eveything done in one off season and we will just have to look at the total picture after the draft.
-
I get your research, my point is I dont think he is very good.
-
Tall WRs from the south are notorious for being good nitters.
-
Call it what you want but when you competing with a home team, they have some advantages,(its his home, familiarity, and friends). The unsigned FAs refers to the need to fill roster spots, not refering to your blog. We only have 3 CBs on the roster, and Jennings is a marginal starter. They just have a lot of spots to full, and would be hard pressed to do that with spending more money on bigger names.
-
Emery didnt blow the Mincey deal, he was ready to sign a deal and the Jags upped their deal and he just stayed home. I would have liked either Winston or Grubbs, but I am not running an NFL team and they had people targeted and those werent on their list. The only thing that bothers me so far with this off season is not signing a OT, but just not that many options out there. We only have 1/2 of the picture, we need to wait till after the draft to hold judgement, everybody wants all these bigger FAs names but we simply didnt have the money to sign eveybody. When Wimbley signed at 7 mil per year we didnt have enough money left to pay that. If Cutler gets hurt again then they will be lauded for signing Campbell, I in no way think that was a bad signing. The 3.5 it cost for him wont have given us any of the bigger names anyway and you have to keep in mind, we have many roster spots to fill and have to have bodies there and spending on a couple of bigger FAs wouldnt have worked. We still have many spots to fill and they cant all be undrafted FAs.
-
I agree with you on Egnew in that later round.
-
I think they are going for it this year, because of the age of the stars on defense, they are trying to make a push this year and thats why the dollars for a good backup QB. If Culter gets hurt, then it will have been worth it, if not , no more Hanie circuses.
-
I agree, I think Randle will go in the second round, but was just using his draft site. Irwin will just be a situational pass rusher, dont see him ever being an every down end.
-
Looking at the whole draft I would take Martin/OT in the first-Irwin/DE in the second-Trum Johnson/CB in the third and in the fourth Randle/WR, according to their player draft spots. I think they will get either Reiff, Martin or Adams will be there in the first round. The only way they go DE is if Coples drops. WR if Floyd is there.
