I vote for option #2
-
Cris Williams-6-7 315 Garza-6-2 312 Krutz not large Louis-6-3 304 Omilaye-6-4 314 I think size wise that we are about the same size as we have been for the last few years. Now Webb and Marten are bigger but dont see them starting anytime soon.

I think some people want to use the first round picks as there keeper, and in a keeper league, it might not be fair to not have that choice, but in all fairness everyone loses the first round option, so that should be equal to everyone. I will agree with the 2nd round on for keepers. In one league I am in you only get to keep a keeper from the 6 th round and up, and lose it in the round you picked it in and that works well. Last year I had picker Cris Johnson in the 9th round from the year before, and had the stud for last year. I always project with my latter picks someone that could be good going forward, so later picks seem to work out for me.

I totally agree, I picked 9th last year and finished 2nd(should have won it ). I dont care where I pick, its about being smart enough with who you pick and when that makes it interesting. You cant always goe by professional rankings, that means you would have selected Forte very high and that didnt turn out to well. You just have to inject your opinion into the draft and roll the dice. I thought Ray Rice was going to a breakout year and would have took him higher but everybody selected there running backs earlier and were on to there other positions and knew he would last. The problem with letting everyone pick there slot, is what if two people want the same slot? Then we go deeper into confusion. SO random slotting by the computer. one keeper ( was just trying to over due the 4 keeper vote) to show how ridiculious the keeper rule can be. Keeper for two total years the round before the keeper to lose is ok with me, but that confuses keepers in the first round for those who wanted them. One plahyer is not going to make or break your team

One keeper is more the norm for this type of thing. I have 4 I would like to keep, so I am favor of having 4 keepers and then that would make us a very unique league. the problem is the draft would suck. So to clear everything up, lets just let the league members have there say and be done with it. I am voting for 4 keepers, but my next vote is for ONE,

I perfer one keeper, so it keeps the draft fresh and more interesting. I think you should be able to keep the keeper for the year you picked him and the next year. Otherwise, why have a keeper league, might as well just draft. I perfer losing the round you picked the keeper in to be skipped. If we do the round before, it eliminates the first round and most of the teams have there best player picked in that round if they are any good. What ever we do with the money, just make sure it gets posted now instead of leaving it open.

Im in a lot of FF leagues, and lets just keep it simple. What ever round you had a keeper , you lose that round. You dont have to keep your keeper, you just go back in the draft. I dont care if we go in inverted order or re draw. ( I picked 9th last year and finished 2nd, so the order isnt always the tell tale sing of where you finish)

Im the Devildogs, need to start paying attention to FF

They still need to find someone, hopefully a starter that gets cut from another team because of youth or big contract. At least we might have an option for an upgrade if nothing materializes.

I read this morning Shaffer is getting a look at LG. Maybe that will be the answer.
-
I have read a ton of info on Wright, and it is conflicting. One says he is a poor open field tackler, one says thats his strength. One he is instinictive, one he is late to the ball. We now have him, so I hope he works out, but fact Lovie and Jerry praise him, probably means he is another SS.
-
If you can pick him up for not big money, that would add to the mix. I think getting released would put a chip on his shoulder not unlike Ruben Brown.
-
Sounds like a combination of Daniel Manning and Kevin Payne. Good around the internet and read profiles of him, should have went OL with this pick.
-
Just read he had 26 tackles and 3 int. last year, thank God we got a playmaker.
-
He was rated right around this slot in the draft, but for all I just read about him, sounds like a better SS in the pros. Good against the run, average open field talking, and average coverage skills. Burnett was the playmaker of the latter group and GB jumped up because they knew we would take him.
-
If Mogan Burnett/GT/FS isnt there I think we will take Lamar Houston/DT/Texas with the 3rd pick. The 4th pick will be Beadles/OG/Utah. The 5th pick will be Lewis/FS/Vanderbilt The 6th pick will be Barnes/WR/BG The 7th pick Horn/OT/Montana
-
I agree, to many people with more picks to move up. Jerry said if one DB is on the board, they will take him or best available. I think that person is Burnett/GT. Otherwise, dont count out a DT as in Lamar Houston/Texas, they like him alot.

The thing I like about the offense this year, is Martz is a smart guy and he knows how to score points, whether our talent can keep up with him that is another story. Like him or loath him, he has it figured out.
-
I think most of this list is late round or undrafted players. It seems we have cornered the market on non drafted players.

Add New Orleans to my picking, I am use to being last. -
I think trading one of the top QBs in the league while you can still get valve for him, isnt a bad decision. They have there qb of the future and at some point in time, you have to turn it over to him. I thought GB was stupid for letting Farve walk, but it turned out to be the right decision. To a divisional rival seemed pretty dumb, but time will tell.

I like this draft alot, but here is my take: RD3 John Jerry/OG/ Ole Miss, should be able to start on the left side right away. RD4 Myron Lewis/FS/Vanderbilt A CB in college can become the FS we are missing. RD5 Sam Young/OT/ND Could become our swing tackle when Schafer is gone. RD6 Rafael Priest/CB/TCU A sleeper with some speed and a future. RD7 Freddie Barnes/WR/ Bowling Green Cant argue with his production.
-
With the likes of Brandon Marshall going for a 2nd round pick, and Holmes and Ginn for 5th round picks, I would suspect that Olsen may not carry as much worth as we may like.
-
What bothers me about these decision makers is the lack of a plan to address needs. I will give them they went out and addressed DE, but still have questions at FS and OL. and if you wish to buy into it, still need help at WR. Someone like Philly will drop players, sign people, make trades, and address there needs in the draft anyway they need to. You can right or wrong, at least see a plan with what they are doing. I wish I could figure out what our leaders are doing, they have did some nice things over the last two years, but fall short with to many bad decisions. They keep repeating moves to make up for past mistakes. As much as no matter what I want the team to succeed, I want Lovie and Jerry gone, and dont know how both can happen at the same time.

I think the possibility that if a better projected player at CB is there we take him instead of reaching for a less FS. I still think moving Tillman to FS is a definite possiblity. The worst thing you can due in a draft is draft for need and reach for players. We have many so-so players in the defensive backfield, we need an upgrade.
