  1. Actually I looked up every sports wire and cant find that information. Why would he be taking a physical in the off season with no football being played. They give you physicals when you go to OTA or camp?
  2. I agree with need youth on defense but the problem is we have a 1st and 2nd to draft 2 to 3 new OL, a TE, a speedy WR and maybe 2 new LBs .Odds of our 4th and 5th,6th picks starting the first year are pretty slim. So whether in FAgency and the first part of the draft we could use 6 starters and all wont be young guys.
  3. Just looked up his bio, he played MLB when with the Packers at 6-2 240 lbs. maybe he can still play the middle.
  4. Barnett was quite good the last two years. was going to make 3.5 at 31. Resign Roach(not terrible) and give Barnett a couple mil for a couple of years and stick him at SLB. Then draft a guy in the 4th or 5th round and grove him for Roaches job next year.

I agree, Cooper should be there and worthy of that pick. If he is gone, I have no problem picking Barrett Jones in that spot either.
  6. the 69th pick would actually be a 3rd round pick
  7. Lovies gone so I doubt if the same habits will be seen. I think with Emery being new last year with the same draft team in place,I think Lovie on a lot of influence on the draft.

He is a good blocker, ok receiver. If we can do better-cheaper I will be for dumping him.

I hope so , I took it off a website that stated 13.3 as the cap space plus the other additions.
  10. Wheaton had over 2000 yards, 164 receptions, and 12 tds in the last 2 years where as Goodwin had 761 yards, 59 receptions, and 8 tds. I like the production.
  11. we agree then
  12. you were right, I copied it wrong, have no problem with the players you listed. Brown is rated higher than Reddick but have read that Reddick is a team leader type, have no problem with Brown thou. Also Goodwin is faster but wheaton is more of a accomplished WR.
  13. Usually in most drafts after you get past the first 10-15 players it starts to vary a lot on the players valves. I agree you have to take the BPA in most scenarios but lets say a QB or RB are the best player rated as the the 2nd best OG who has a first round grade. We dont take the QB over a need position where as the QB is the 16 best player rated as to the 24 th rated player a OG. the point he was making we have OL, TE, MLB that is of our most needed positions and they will be one of valve there as the draft falls in place. In the second round if a DT or WR is the best rated players then you have to consider it, but with 3 great needs you usually will have choices and still fill a need.
  14. I have read in several spots where Arz. likes Glennon/QB but at 7 is too high to take him. They will select Fisher/OT at that spot, but will have to trade up to get Glennon. so they have #38,4th round 67 and they have two 6th round picks. So i just used Walters mock as an example of who could be there. the trade would be our 20 for 38,67 and a 6th rounder. I am not sure how this rates on the traded picks scale, but maybe swapping our 4th round picks would be more equal. 38-Larry Warford/OG (also the top 2 TEs) 50(our pick) they had us taking Austin/WR but I would select Reddick/LB 67-Marcs Wheaton/WR-speed guy 114(our pick) Kelce/TE

I mentioned that a few days ago on a differnt thread. I read we have 13.3 plus carry over of 3.2. With the players we can cut, should have around 21.5 mi. to play with.
  16. your spot on with our picks. we need to fill those spots by how the draft falls to our pick.
  17. Stinger226 replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
I think Johnson will be gone, out of 50 mocks I read Brown was never a 1st round pick.

I think there will be a run on OL in the first part of the draft, and a few QBs. SO I think these will be our choices for our pick; Te'o/LB overall ratings on two sites; 10th and 16th Ogletree/LB overall ratings on two sites; 12th and 29th Etrz/TE overall ratings on two sites; 24th and 32nd Cooper/OG overall ratings on two sites; 20th and 23rd so who do you take with that first pick? It we take the best player available it (I hate to say it) would have to be Te'o, if we go by greatest need Cooper/OG a starter caliber from day one. or the best TE in the draft(also a need) I would still take Cooper because the talent at OLine drops off quite a bit after him. I still then we could be a good TE or good LB in the second and 4th rounds.
  19. I think we need to resign Louis and Scott. If Carmi starts he will have to beat one of them out and then I guess that means he will be playing better.
  20. You keep referring to PFF as if that is Emery's bible. It is just one source of info that he composed to form his opinions.
  21. I like the bulk of this except for addressing the OG spot. your first OG is a fifth round pick and you didnt resign Louis. Also no TEs signed in FAgency or drafted any. A glaring lack of addressed in your scenario. I do think we need a speed WR.and Bailey is probably the best one out there. Also Cinn already has two 2nd round picks, not sure why they would trafe for another one.
  22. Your pretty smart, so why would you bring up KNox? he will never play football again. at this stage of recovery he is having trouble walking, dont see football in his futute.
  23. I agree with your list other than Urlacher,( unless we sign him real cheap) He will never make a full season unhurt again. Bad knees. We have to fill the roster and keeping our own back at reasonalble prices makes sense. Melton will be the only high paid player on that list. hopefully at around 6 mil.
  24. They all sound interesting but after checking them out. Onobun is just an athlete has never did anything college or NFL, Toliver is a career underachiever, and Nelson has potenial to make it as a backup.

After he evaluates them, we dont know if he will like them, I dont think he can create caviar out of crab, but we may be better than it looks to us right now.
