I was trying to give an example of Pace's bad decisions with money. !4 mil was absurd considering how bad he was. In his 10 year career he never made more than 2 mil.

I still think if we win on a high level that there is an opening for Allen to come back if he is a contribtor to that success. With Rome and DJ , Kmet here for 3 yrs or more , this is our core. If Tyler Scott or V. Jones show something this year they are under contract for next year. If we win 9-10 games and Allen is the main dude, Poles can tag him for 1 more year. If Allen gets absorbed in the culture and we win beyond 10 games, he may accept a team friendly deal for a few yrs to be part of a SB run. Odds of him being back is 10% IMO but Poles surprises us all the time. Need to see him contribute this yr, he will not be cheap.

Poles is building this team- in year 3 we only a few questions left to fill spots. LT- Braxton Jones-Larry Borom- Kiwan A. has exceeded his drafting spot but still needs to improve. ( brought in Kiwan ) in case his development is limited. LG- Trevon Jenkins is above average but has questions on his health going forward. Ja'Tre Carter-Jerome Carvin-Coleman Shelton-Ryan Bates All in line for 2nd in OC- Ryan Bates-Colleman Shelton-Doug Kramer still have questions but enough bodies to make contributions RG- Nate Davis-Matt Pryor-Bill Murray- Theo Benedet Big question on Davis but plenty of time to correct behavior. several options for backup RT- Darnell Wright-Jake Curhan-Avante Collins. Wright has star potenial but backup still unclear. IMO the best 5 will be the starters. Next in order Shelton- Bates at RG- Matt Pryor at several positions-Kiwan once healthy Overall I think we are better than last year. I think Poles is building the OL without trying to use his top assets to contribute. One- 1st round-one 3rd-one 5th-one 6th-one 7th He is using assets to bring in playmakers on O and D. I get the importance of the OL and one more year of the rebuild will determine how he is doing.

One list of top 100 players from a NFL person has 22 WRs listed and no DJ Moore. He was 12th in receptions 5th in yardage tied for 7th in TDs. WTF?

His next 2 yrs are a bargain at 16 mil per year. A reward for future monies is cap friendly the length of the contract in comparision to money being paid even this yr. The slow start last year was noticable but not sure we can say because of the first game. Its extra so they are treating it as not important. If someone would have got hurt, they was be roasted by us. So their just doing what they think is best.

It sounds like it just keeps rolling, doesnt replace the existing contract which is an excellient move with WR contracts these days. I seen someone say signed thur 2030.

Agree with everything. Something I think we under estimated was the development of players by this coachung staff. A lot of players was high upside but truthfully not all will work out but think Dexter is one that will. i see people saying V Jones is looking good, maybe the end story turns out well.

I dont think we should downplay his potenial for being great just because he's a rookie. You were the one pushing ( the best prospect since Luck- Burrow). I think It shows up fairly early in this year. We have a fairly easy schudule plenty of time to get his feet wet. The difference is his supporting cast.

Did anyone know that Sweat has 4.41 speed and 35" arms? no wonder he's a beast. (6'6" 264)

Nate Davis got a bad rap last year. His mom lived with him and then died. He never wes mentally ready to play last year.

The cool thing is we have a QB everyone agrees is going to be great. Jordan Love just signed for 220 mil, for one good year.

Not trying to fight, just present the opposite view of the outcome. As Pix suggested , i still think we would have taken a QB, I just think Poles would have Fields one more year to prove himself. Not suggesting they we would have given him a long term contract. His 5th year would actually have been cheaper than CW. I am totally sold on CW and feel fourtunate to have gotten him. I just dont think that cancels my wish for Fields to have a good future.

I think his biggest problem was consistency. He has did everything but had to many bumbs in the road. Everyone does realizes if we didnt get Panthers pick he would still be here. If the Pathers pick didnt fall in the first 2 picks, Fields would have stayed. I think he gets better. He will never be a top 10 QB but will fall in that next group. He looked great throwing 16 in a row but those type moments just didnt happen enough. IF he improves this year, he will be the starter in Pittsburgh. We get to see his growth from afar now as we watch CW become a top 5 QB as a rookie. I get the rookie growth period but I think he passes those mistakes early and has a redord type year.

A good QB makes every WR look better. Also the OL will look better because of a better release time. Im an optimist and think this is all going to click early. Bear fans are reluctant because of our history. Our history changed the day Poles got here.

My son is not a fanactic football fan and didnt talk to him about football. Someone came over to him for an autograph and he declined, saying he was here socially. Didnt the Detroit head coach make a couple blunders in the playoff game that cost them going to the championship game? His was coach of the year, the year before and no body was calling him out for it. Because he has a winning team. Good coachs screw up too.
