  1. I heard its the wording at the end of the contract where he can do the double dipping. If he gets his way, it will be easier for him to leave. We want him to have the best option, Bears. A NFL guy interviewed on the score stated that, not sure how much he actually knows.
  2. As much as we have praised CW, does he want to upset the rookie rules may be in the works? If he wants something different, he's going to want 100 mil after his rookie deal.
  3. The Packer hate is real from both teams, this is a letter from the CEO where a FF player applied for the DC job .
  4. Last year I did 2 teams because my friend had a motorcycle accident, this year both of us will be in.
  5. We now 30 days until we play our first game. Hall of Fame game
  6. I have been watching other inter-division podcasts and most fans are delusional. Here is a fan making a Packer post. I’m having a really hard time w. a ceiling/comp for C9. Romeo Doubs - Amari Cooper Christian Watson - Jayden Reed - Stefon Diggs Dontayvion Wicks - Kennan Allen Bo Melton - Jaylen Waddle
  7. Yes lots of things come into play. His agent was telling people that he will be ready for training camp. So the fact no one has signed him tells me, that's not true. Miami has the most information and decided yo go with a lesser talent instead of resigning him. Free agents have mixed results when moving to new teams. Now a cheap deal with prospect of future long term contract is the only way Poles signs him. Perfect example is Nate Davis. Had high impact play , came here and you see what we got and Williams will be in that price range. There is no guaruntee he plays at the level he did before, that is projection. I would rather have Poles take cheaper options and have the results of a Andrew Billings situation ( cheap buy, palyed well and gave him a longer contract) I think he projects Bates as a comer and then got Shelton as a backup plan. That is the choice he made. I dont think he is going to question his moves this early in the season. Now if something fails, he will try something different. He is not there yet.
  8. I rewatched the last game of the season (Bears Packers). Trevon Jenkins played terrible, weak center play by Feeny and thank God Eddie Jackson is gone.
  9. There has been lots of chatter about Connor Williams lately because he might be available around training camp. I dont see the Bears spending the money since they could have signed him before this and choose not to. Plus they brought in two potential starters.
  10. Today the Bears added Douglas Coleman/SS to the roster today.
  11. Anyone see Pete Prisco's top 100? Having DJ Moore listed 84 may be realistic but listing Devoo Samuel, Nico Collins, Garret Wilson ahead of him is not. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-top-100-players-of-2024-patrick-mahomes-reigns-again-myles-garrett-top-defender-in-priscos-rankings/
  12. For sure, players are creatures of habit, he needed to train differently to get different results.
  13. For us to hit high marks on offense we need to have 65 offensive plays a game. If we have a good D that will give us those oppurtunities. Last year we had 534 rushing atts and 513 in pass atts with an inconsistant offense. We only need 4 more pass atts a game to reach 600 and more efficency will get us 4200 pass yards at least.
  14. His slow get off in college was a design of that defense. His job was to hit and hold, not get up field. his DL coach in college was interviewed on the SCORE once and told the story. Also I think Pickens takes a step forward this year. All the attention is on Dexter but he has traits too. 4.89 40, long arms -big hands. He had 42 Ts as a DT his last year in college.
  15. The weaknesses we see now may not be next year. Looking forward we could use 2 more players on the DL, a Safety to take over when Byard leaves, a center, another TE, another WR if Allen leaves. I think Pettis is being overlooked, he can contribute on special teams and as a WR. He was brought in last year but got injured. He's only 28 years old with 4.32 speed. Jones is the same and both have speed. Scott underperformed and will show what he is this year. We have enough options that someone will shine and be considered # 4.
  16. I always think you throw out their best and worse years and that's who they are which means he should be top 15 at his position. He's going to be fine.
  17. He acquired Bates before he signed Shelton and gave up something. I think he brought him in to be the starter but him and Shelton are flexable for both OG and OC so it gives him depth and options. PFF is just a measure to compare players, it has some merit but they do get things wrong. Both are an upgrade over last year, I suspect they are average players but that is better than bad players. One may pop , not everyone can be first round picks. Centers usually struggle their first year and are not a good idea with roo0kie QBs. So if our centers play falls to between 12th to 18th, we will have a good line this year.
  18. I think IF he has sights of going to the SB, then he may add to make that run but i think he will let new players fail first before he takes that step. His mind already has this team making the playoffs. i would be disappointed if he didnt think that way.
  19. The Bears just signed DeAndre Carter. A kick returner, who isnt showing preogress on the team?
  20. As much as a star player would be nice, I dont think Poles is going to add a big contract to the team. He can work numbers to make it happen but Troy will want Sweat money if not more. I think he will run with the options on the team. If he adds someone (Yannick) that will be on a team friendly deal. If Allen has a good year ,that wont be cheap bringing him back. If he keeps Jenkins that wont be on the cheap. As he builds this team , he keeps an eye on the cap. I thnk he may want to extent DJ Moore before he spends bigt money to fill a weak spot. He has made several comments on not being able to fill all his needs in this season.
  21. Who is out there that makes us a dominate line? Carl Lawson? Yannick ? Ogbah ? Frank Clark? I dont think any of those are special. I dont think we are tradig assets for a disillusion star that wants a big paycheck. I dont think this year is the year we add another high paid player. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2024/6/12/24176975/a-scouts-take-on-the-2024-chicago-bears-defensive-ends-montez-sweat-jacob-martin-demarcus-walker
  22. I think they can run in Walker to 3 T to add to DT. They added Cowart and drafted Randolph which may fill the forth spot at DT. Everything may be in place we just dont know the quality of the new players. They signed Lewis because the bodies werent good enough. We will see shorty what they think of the DE room by staying pat or adding somen=one will show their hand.
