  1. Here's a writers view on the final roster, It would mean resigning Yannick and Lewis. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2024/5/3/24147660/way-too-early-chicago-bears-53-man-roster-projection-2024-caleb-williams-rome-odunze-khalil-herbert
  2. The comments was not an attack on you, it was pointing out you seem to look at things in absolutes. Fields was bad so everything you said focused on the negstive and now with Caleb you seem protective of him. example: he can be still be great and still held the ball to long numberous times. Its not calling him trash.
  3. I think those are very realistic numbers. If you cant be optimistic this year you dont have it in you to do so. I get next year is the p[rojection, but Poles is going for it now. I was just reading where Yannick stayed in Chicago and was rehabing at Hallas Hall. He didnt perform well last year but got better when Sweat got here. I figure Poles gives him an incentive ladened contract. Like 6 mil and 5 mil as incentives. With him, Sweat, Booker and Walker it will be higher sack numbers. The DL coach is sup[posed to be a Guru type, who knows how he he make make everyone better.
  4. I wasnt refering to you when I said that but , I think he has the best season ever for a rookie, and yes those are correctable traits.
  5. Adam, freeze my acount, Im out of control right now.
  6. I seen a podcast that said Booker was 252 lbs at his pro day. he lost weight to try get faster times at the combine. Also seen where his pro comparision was Maxx Crosby. Maxx is 6'5" 256, Booker is 6' 4 1/2" 252. Crosbys first year he had 10 sacks, that would be nice if we get some millage out of Booker in his first year.
  7. You go from ( you cant say anything nice about Justin mode) to you're not allowed to say anything negative about Caleb mode) people break down Caleb and he's not perfect. It doesnt matter why you hold the ball to long but holding the ball to long is a negative. Unlike you I'm not trashing Caleb because of it, just pointing out he still has some developing to do. Im all in on him but he is not yet walking on water, because a poor OL and bad WR options contributed to that just like many other QBs that are put in that postion. Mahomes holds the ball to long a lot and he is the best QB in the league. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/caleb-williams/32005749-4c17-6897-a516-9754023602e6
  8. Bagent looked good getting ball out because Gretsy kept it simple with his play calling, step and throw. He only had 3 completions over 20 yards on 93 completions. Here is a throw chart in the Raiders game. Its easy to make throws when 90% are under 5 yards. This is where the plays ended so YAC has to be figured in. I think he is capable of more but wasnt ask to do it in his playing time.
  9. I've been traveling so dont know if someone mentioned it but Poles was getting nervous with Rome getting picked was going to try to move up to get him. Ian told him to be patient and we got him. He clearly liked Rome because of his character. Poles envisions Caleb and Rome leading the offense and Brisker and Sweat leading the defense with their leadership and work ethic. We have several other leaders on this team that could make this a special team.
  10. Last year the top 4 offenses had over 4000 passing and over 2200 yards rushing. We had 2399 rushing and 3421 passing. Caleb and our WRs will make up 600 passing yards. Anyone think that is unrealistic? We will have more offensive plays this year because of a more successful offense. I think Waldron runs a balanced offense theory . In 2022, 573 passing plays and 425 rushing plays. 4282 passing yards and 2042 rushubg yards. In 2023 passing 575 4167 and rushing 382 1580. They finished 9-8 both seasons. We have more talent than the Seahawks had, it is a no brainer that we win more games.
  11. His arm talent is exceptional, but last year his decision making took a hit. When you hold the ball for 60 plays over 6 seconds, thats poor decision making. Because of the lack of talent around him, he held the ball to long trying to make home run plays instead of taking what the defense gave him. 2022 he was king for his decision making, Heisman Trophy. Its great to see him shine on his play, but when he makes mistakes, that counts to. That contributed to his fumbles also. His success this year will be based on how well he accepts coaching, no coach is telling you to hold the ball for more than 4 seconds.
  12. If Kiwan Amegadjie ends up winning the LT job, heard them talk about moving Braxton inside or vice versa. If Jenkins deals with any injuries again this year, I dont see them signing him back.
  13. I have read several places where the Bears have kept in contact with Yannick Ngakoue and his injury recovery. I think he will be back.
  14. Cushenberry would have been nice but he got a 50 mil contract. Of those 4 Brewer was supposedly the least talented and he got 3 years at 21 mil. You will have to ask Poles how he rated them, they all got signed before the draft so I'm not sure if he may wanted to get a drafted center.
  15. I'm calling 12-5, come back in December to criticize me but it's a future prediction.
  16. Do not discard the ceiling of what we can do this year even with a rookie QB. We are a few players away from being dominant. With 2 teams in the playoffs, if we win our division, we can make a run to the SB. Caleb will no longer be a rookie after 12 games so his true talent will start to shine. I'm an optimist, if you can be optimistic for this year, you're not capable of a glass half full.

    Gill gone

When Poles is upgrading the STs, you know he totally expects them to be in play of winning the division and capable of more. Was he a free agent? Or do we save some money?
  18. Injuries are the only thing in the way of a winning record. Something people keep forgetting is a generational QB lifts the players around him. Even as a rookie ( will make mistakes) you will see him give the OL a boost and help make the weapons better if that is possible.
  19. Unless you were getting JPJ or Frazier, a rookie wouldn't be starting anyway. I have heard many football people say a rookie center and rookie QB is a disaster. It's very difficult to build a team and have 5 1st round picks on the OL in three drafts. I get the concern he's building thru the draft for the most part and he wanted Rome and I read Poles was getting nervous and wanted to trade up to get him so we weren't getting a starter this year anyways.
  20. I don't think we are giving Booker enough praise. Draft Buzz had him ranked as the 68th best player. Brugler had him at 78. He was only a rotational player, 474 snaps only started one game. Which makes 37 pressures and 9 sacks that much bigger. One to two years of NFL development and we could have a 10+ sack guy. This year as a situational pass rusher we could see 5 to 7 sacks which would be great. At 240 he needs at least 15 lbs added but isn't terrible against the run. Also Draft Buzz had Kiran Amedgadjie ranked as the 63rd best player. Best punter in the last 10 years and this could be the best draft the Bears ever had even with only 5 players.
  21. If I remember correctly someone broke down where the players came from that made up rosters. (average over the league) I think 1st led that % but UDFAs were second.
