  1. As soon as we drafted Loveland, you have suggested Kmet will be traded. I disagree with that opinion. My opinions are never absolute . It is just what you are reading into my words. I try to guess what the Bears are doing and trading Kmet makes no sense so I say it like its not going to happen and you keep saying (but it could). Of course it is an option but why would they do that? Colston isnt even on the field yet, he could get injuried after he gets back, he could take time to adjust to the NFL. Until BJs offense is up an running there is no way to guess what it will look like. They are not upside down on the Cap, so they are not trading a proven NFL player before or mid season. Next year is a whole set of different circumstances and he may not finish his contract here but that isnt even in their thought process right now. For some reason, if I dont agree with you, you say things like (insulting a member of your family) because I double down on my opinion (just like you) . I showed reasons that this year is different as most say (same old Bears). I am not putting a gun to anyone's head and saying you have to believe what I do. Its okay to have a different opinion. When double down on (they could trade him) I double down on thier not, Why is being optimistic (weird)? (This from the guy who was one of the last to give up on Fields - who didnt want Caleb? ) this comment has nothing to do with this conversation but of course you always take it somewhere else . When we dont trade Kmet, I wont be bringing up how you were wrong about that because IDC
  2. Talking about someone getting traded is just fantasy and not about hurting someones feelings, unless you're refering to yours because the Bears arent going to do that. FF starts in September. Criticizing a team is normal dialuoge, who said it was being disloyal? Looking at a glass half full is also part of fandom.
  3. I've been a Bears fan since 1965. Misery has been my friend to many years. I get the animosity. This year IS different. Ben Johnson-DA-( top position coaches) Caleb Williams (now if you think he could be a bust)? ?-Thumey-Dalman-Jackson-Wright (can anyone say this is not huge upgrades)? Weapons DJ -Rome-Burden-Kmet-Loveland-Swift-Monogai (anyone disagree this is not a big upgrade) Defense had a very good defensive backfield,. above average LBers,.DT added Jarrett, Turner, a healthy Billings, and an improved Dexter DE added Odayingbo, Booker came in 15 lbs heavier, a healthy Sweat. An above average Carlos Santos and Tory Taylor Last year we were about to be 5-2 and a player's brainfart doomed us to a sinking ship with a dysfunctional coach. We should have won 8-9 games but the football Gods abandoned us. If this doesnt look different to you then meet my exfriend MISERY
  4. When he goes from one of the top WRs to a lackluster last year it is fair to question his work ethic, ,maturity, and his love of football. With all the off season investigation they do to vent a prospect, I trust that is it not a problem going forward. George Pickens was a good WR but considered a head case. I think the team choose carefully when they drafted him.

these days are about learning the playbook, making connections with other players and communication between coaches and players. You can see how they move, understanding the process and mental reps. When pads go on, then the dirty works goes in play but this is a valuable part of the process also.
  6. He has yet to address this, he is not going around pushing this book. His dad is and the media are. Any talk of not wanting to not play for the Bears was very early in the process and when he met Poles at Hallas Hall, he bought into playing here. This is a nonstory because he doesnt feel that way now. This is media blowing everything up. Him watching tape by himself is taken to mean he didnt have any coaching which is not true. Good QBs do that all the time. The writer is pushing certain narratives to sell the book. Now the coaching was bad but it doesnt mean they didnt try to help him.
  7. It remains to be seen what good play calling effect has on our OL. If the ball is coming out quicker, the OL will look much better. We upgraded the talent and I think overlooked, is the leadership that Thuney-Dalman bring to the overall performance of the offense. We question everything because of the history of this team but I think we are underestimating what this will look like as a whole. We have more weapons, coaching that has completely changed the outcome. Time to jump on board instead of still questioning everything.
  8. Playing well doesnt mean Pro Bowl. ( better than last year). You may be right, you dont want to let good players leave but I dont think its enough to convince the Bears that Braxton is a 20+ player. I hope Im wrong but they drafted 2 yrs in a row someone to compete with Braxton because of his lack of progress. ( a third and second round pick.)
  9. When they brought in Keenum, they pretty well made the decision to keep 3 on the roster. There is someone else on the roster they can hide on the practice squad. They are allowed to carry two vets on the PS. Maybe one of the WRs?
  10. You keep elaborting on Kmet and a future trade which I dont think applies this year but you orignally said midseason. There's no situation where they consider that this year. Even if Loveland is ballilng, you are weaking the team for more cap space? Next year is a complete different set of circumstances.
  11. I get your point it just doesnt apply to this roster this year as constructed. What is more valuable, Cole Kmet or a 5th round future pick? We drafted a potenial better player in Loveland but he isnt on the field yet. 50% of all first round picks never live up to expectations. So they are not making our team weaker , they will see on how well Cole fits in the offense and see how well Colston developes after he comes to camp.We are not adding ac 30+ ml contract this year. It will totaly blow up our cap space. We are thin at LB and as much as I agree Edmunds has not lived up to his money he is not a bad player. He may be a cauality next year if they replace him but not going anywhere this year. I do think if Braxton comes back and plays well and Ozzy and Kiran look good, the possiblity exists we trade Braxton because we are not paying him 20+ next year. Two LTs got paid this year that are clearly worst than Jones. If he stays for the year and he gets a 20+ contract we will get a comp pick in the 3rd or 4th round. So he probably stays.
  12. This type of get are what a team does if they are one player away with looking at SB aspirations. The Barkley acquitition by the Eagles are the example. It pushed them into a SB.
  13. Its easy to dismiss a 7th round pick but a deep dive into the player looks a lot more promising. Like that guy said , listen to what the coaches say. His metrics are very good for a late pick and then add in he did that in the Big Ten. I dont think we add more to the RB room unless there is an injury. Looking back on this draft in the future, he very well could be the steal of the draft. Cudos to Poles for getting him in the 7th round.
  14. As much as we have some question marks at a few positions, I too, believe DE is where we will add someone. There are a few still in FA, Judon and Z Smith but I suspect some one cut will come into play. Before they ever consider cutting good players they are going to let the season play out. Edmunds could thrive in a DA defense. Swift and kmet could be valuable to the offense. With the Thumey money figured in we havce 16 mil in cap space going into next year but will have only a few spots to look for starters. Its going to be one year at a time.
  15. This impression that Brad Briggs stated they talked about trading for Hendrickson is pure fiction. Someone asked that question in his mailbag article and he stated he has no information . Also mentions twice that he doesnt think they would do it.
  16. Just seen where Austin Booker put on 15 lbs over the offseason. At 260-65 lbs, he may be more reliable in the new defensive scheme.
  17. They have extended their blue players and added 48 mil a year to the IOL. 8 edge players are making 28+ a year and 4 of those are 34+. Bengals offered him 3/28 a year all guaranteeded and he turned it down,. So 30+ will be his range. We have to at least get rid of one core player or two to be ablle to sign him. Tons of dead money if we traded for him. They simpling are not going to do it.
  18. This rumor was true as announced one day before. People were saying we tried to trade up with NE to get Henderson. A video of the NE war room verifies we tried to do that but only offered a 7th for cost. Not a serious attempt.
  19. All the pieces are now in place here thru 2027. That is how you fix the OL.
  20. I try not to mention rumors but I think 99% of them are BS but here a few I am trying to verify. I have seen several posts on social media that we are talking about TRADING FOR TROY HENDRICKSON. I think it is BS, Cincy is not close to signing him so it is possible and the longer they go without a contract says the price is coming down. Now a 2 but may drop to a 3. This price would be doable but my big concern is THEY are not going to fit the 40 mil contract into our Cap situation. (we are surgically) building the roster. We paid Sweat and game Odeyingbo a 48 mil contract. We have some prospects behind them (Austin Booker, Daniel Hardy) . We have some DL flexable to possibliy use Shemar Turner or Dexter out their in roles. This is still short on talent but when training camp start there will some vets cut that we could add to the roster. Also DaZarius Smith and Matt Judon are still available. One rumor I seen today was the Bears and Thuney are CLOSE TO SIGNING AN EXTENTION , I could easily predict that as we get closer to OTAs because Poles said they were working on it.
  21. Firing coaches mid season and paying big bucks for the top coach available clearly show moving on from the McCaskey curse.
