I totally understand people listing a blue chip LT as a possible draft option and not saying it's a bad idea but I think Braxton has progressed enough to not make that an option. Braxton has finished 14 th and 19 th his first two years as a LT. His ceiling may only be top 12 LTs but that is great for a 5 th round pick. I think it is Poles flagship pick as a first year GM to show he knows what he's doing. I also think he will add to the OL room with pick 75 or 122. We have had several looks at Yale tackle Kiran Amedgadjie. That is the kind of pick he loves to draft. High upside athletic prospect. Most rankings have him going in the 80s 90s range. So it's possible to get at 75. I think a WR or Edge player has a bigger impact in year one than a rookie OT.

I think all of these top 10 picks are a little off. Edge players are going to get more than one in the first 10 picks. History tells us its OTs and edge that usually get picked high. Most don't have Bowers there either he could be top 10.

A trade back would take us out of the Turner pick and maybe Verse, Murphy may be the best option on the board at that time.

I'm not disagreeing that scheme fit Turner is a better 3-4 prospect but he played the same spot in the Will Anderson played in the Alabama defense and was a 4-3 DE most of the time. I think he is the best pure pass rusher in the draft , the same as you. As a pass rusher in nickel D , he's going to rush the passer more than he's going to be given containment. Dallas runs a similar 4-3 D and Parsons plays DE in it and gets all pro consideration every year. I will grant you , now they move Parsons all over the place but his first 2 yrs was as a DE. Parsons is 6-3 247 almost identical to Turner. Although containment matters in a Flus defense, why not not just get the best pass rusher in the draft? Verse actually lost weight to go to the combine down from 262 to 254 to get better 40 times but playing weight was higher. He does fit the scheme better.

I agree with Turner as best sack guy , but most teams run 60% of their schemes in nickel defense. We can get by with a lack of the true type of DE. Walker is the starter and does well at that anyways.

I think for this year, A rookie edge will be more of a pass rush specialist and rotational guy. Now Verse and Latu probably could start right away. The 3 T is important but does Dexter growth be enough to be that guy 55% of the time? Like you said with limited draft capital, we need one more year of rebuilding. Until the draft is done and 2 nd wave of free agency finishes, he may add someone at 3 T and will at edge. If we take a Dallas Turner, his value will be more after his year of growth but can be a 10+ every year. He has the highest ceiling. I wouldn't mind Murphy or Newton and get Mike Danna in FA. That won't happen if he takes a LT at. 9. I don't think Alt is in his plans.

Does anyone know anything about Mo Karmara? I keep seeing his named mentioned on podcasts as a sleeper type. From Colorado State University and had 13 sacks last year and 43 pressures.

He's a top 10-15 QB, hopefully we have a top 5 QB.

People talk about Mahomes comparisons but I think Aaron Rodgers is a better choice. He moves around the pocket, arm strength similar. Wouldn't it be ironic to have the next Rodgers while GB has Jorden Love.

I don't proof read everything. I use a tablet overseas and it constantly auto corrects me all the time. When Poles said it would take him 4 years to do a rebuild, that is exactly how it is playing out. And yes on OC and OG. If we had a 2 nd round pick this year it would be the perfect spot to grab Zack Frazier . we still might have a shot at Van Pran in the third but prefer JPJ and Fraizer

I am more a fan of players like Jack Sanborn rather than V Jones types. Sanborn isn't your athlete but loves football and is productive. Being athletic does give you a higher ceiling to shoot for but they just don't always develop. Example: Dominic Robinson.

Never thought about it that way, Verse fits Flus better. Not sure Micah Parsons would fit the scheme either but I think everyone would have no problem if he was on the team. I think Dallas Turner compares to Will Anderson physically and Will had 7 sacks and 64 pressures as a rookie ( Turner 4.46 Anderson 4.6 ) Stick Turner opposite Sweat and shht hits the fan. Dexter improves and no one is going to want to play us. Isn't Sweat more of a power rusher? Dallas Turner would be a great pick.

Agree with most of that but will throw in, player development matters Poles played the game so I think he takes everything in to account.

Newton had some surgery done so it will cause him to drop. He has always been rated higher with better stats than Murphy. He will be drafted at a better value . Don't know what the surgery was.

He broke down his late game stats and red zone. That's exactly what you want at QB---BOOM never heard anyone mention those stats before. No matter which way we go at 9 , it's a win for us. Bookend Tackles 3 # 1 WRs Dominate defense with an edge Those are all wins.

If they trade back 10 spots that's puts them in line for a second round pick as compensation. If they get one of those 5 that would be worth it but if Dal!as Turner is there, that the best prospect edge in the draft. Might as well take him. 2 10 sack ends on your line puts us in a top 5 defense. We led the league in interceptions last year without any pass rush until Sweat got here.

I was looking at prospects and their arm length as far as DL goes. I looked up Hutchinson and Parsons arm length, 32 and a 1/8 th and 31.5 , then realized may not be as big a deal as I thought.

Not really any threads here to just address the draft over all, so here we are. Been watching a lot of edge tape and different football guys opinions on DE players. Dallas Turner is rightfully the top prospect by most people.. He has such great upside. Latu has a higher floor to contribute right away but Turner is long term . Latu also some medical concerns. I liked Jared Verse but after watching tape and opinions, he doesn't have the bend or flexibility to be a 10+ sack man regularly. To give credit AZ54 already mentioned that. Latu can contribute the most in his first year but not quite the athlete Turner is. Greg Gabriel rated them Turner- Chop Robinson- Latu- Verse as who will be the best long term . Chop isn't 21 yet but still needs time to develop but has great upside. Several have said he has the right motor and attitude to succeed in the NFL. A bust potential also. A couple interesting names of later rated ends are Jonah Ellis from Utah and Bralen Trice . Ellis had an injury later in the season and then they shut him down. He still had 13 sacks and 41 pressures. Both should be 2nd round picks. I didn't check it out but someone said Trice had 8 sacks and 67 pressures last year. That 6 pressures a game . Anyone have information on any of edge they like?
