The draft is 40 days away, we need a few more bodies on the DL. We are out of money so Poles will have to play to get a Midland contract. People keep projecting we have a lot of money Left but those figures leave out rookie pool ( 2 top 10 ) and in season budget..

There is just as much talk today on Twitter than before the trade. Poles made his choice of saying goodbye to Justin and I think he is in the best place to decide. I still think Justin turns out to be a very good QB. He will start eventually in Pittsburgh and they will use him properly. I can still be a fan and get hyped by who ever Poles goes with. . Why are people still pounding on Justin? It will turn out how it turns out and no one can predict the final outcome. I want Poles to finish venting the QBs and take the right one. 90% its CW, I hope he is the next Aaron Rodgers. His play compares to Aaron more than PM. If he surprises us with someone else, I'm okay with that. No one can predict the future.

He gained valuable respect from his players by respecting Justin's wishes. Players like to be treated well. Everyone is not business robots, humanity matters.

Do a draft with no trade back. See how that turns out.

He's somewhere between generational and good. Poles gets to figure it out. If something pops up on Caleb does Poles still take him? I'm not sure.

Davis won't be a problem. He has played above average his whole career but his mom dying blew his season up. Poles stuck by him all year. Jenkins injuries is the wild card. Braxton and Wright should progress and we have depth. Let's say we don't trade we have 3 spots we can probably get starters. QB - Edge - WR. 4th round pick will depth piece. The WR has depth this year.

Rappoport reporting that Poles had 5 teams called about Justin. Justin wanted to go to Pittsburgh and Poles made that happen. That's why there's no compensation. He wanted to be fair to Justin. Had he did it right after the combine, he might have gotten more when teams were signing QBs but it is what it is. Probably the best he could have gotten was a 3.

All the top QBs has some flaws. Even though Caleb has the best arm talent, it will take some time to adjust to the NFL. Like someone he has JF1 in him. Anyone thinking hes walking in and doing what Stroud did is dreaming. That just rarely happens. I am just throwing out what options we have and speculation on , does Poles surprise us? 80% Caleb but we don't know his evaluations. If you have several teams fighting for the first spot , the haul could be crazy.

I think he took a worse pick to place Justin in a place he has a chance to become a starter. I read there were 4 teams that called Poles about a trade. I suspect timing was everything and didn't get done until he lost some value.

Why are we still talking about Justin? I already stated my feelings , it's time to move forward. You can talk anything you want, but he's not here anymore. I rather talk about, if they're are any other options or is it pick 1 Caleb? When Poles speaks to this, maybe we have a more clear message then. He hasn't met him yet, so who knows.

I'm not someone said they mutually agreed to a later date. That wasn't true. Justin -Caleb debate is dead. So if you make an appointment with a doctor and you need to see him now and he says two weeks that's not helping you out. Poles needed the information now. It's a common sense issue. By the end of the year Justin will be starting. (Remember these are opinions). Justin is gone but you still can't let go of the hate. You should be happy but you're back to conflict discussions.

His combine 40 Time was 4.71. He has suddenness and expert route running. Don't think losing a step matters. Those types play longer. I think he could be a one and done. He got traded because he wouldn't restructure his contract. He's not extending a contract for peanuts.

I agree the media is crap. I also know there are some questions that come along with Caleb. He dad is running the show. ( interference) No agent Attitude comes across as wanting to be treated special. ( rookie salary cap unfair) He has some bad habits, fumbling, hero ball, holds on to the ball to long. I seen a breakdown of his throws and he had 60 passes where he held the ball for over 6 seconds in 2023. That's insane. Will he hold out if he wants to go to Washington and gets us? I like most of what Poles has done so I trusted he made the right choice. He put us in the position to have the last two years of cap space and the draft. That's outstanding, im not complaining now because I disagree with a choice he made. I feel like my dog died today.

It wasn't. All the 30 visits were supposed to be after his pro day workout but because he didnt do medicals at the Combine, they requested a 30 visit earlier, Caleb's camp blew that off. At that time Poles hadn't decided yet and wanted the information now to make Fields available to trade. Because of the delay, he lost any advantage to get a decent return on Justin, then Mac Jones was traded for a 6 th and there was no market. He could have kept him and waited for a team that may had an injury or lost out on a draft QB but he traded him to a team that he has a chance to start. Wilson is there on a cheap deal, if Fields performs better, Tonkin plays the best players. That's what Poles meant when he wanted to do right by Justin. He took a lousy return to put Justin in a place he has a chance to start. Poles jumps now to make a choice, if indeed it's Caleb. He had to pull trigger so the circus doesn't come to town.

He probably will but is there any scenario that might change his choice? With Fields gone, does Washington load up the haul to get pick one? What could change his mind? I'm not routing for a different outcome but since we don't have anything to fight about anymore, what are all our options? Poles being nice to Justin was getting him out of here right away. Timeline: Poles wasn't moving Fields as soon as the season was over. He had to vent his options first. I believe getting Caleb in for the 30 visit was to rush to the decision for Poles and Caleb blew him off so it took him more work to decide. He was not trading Fields until he decided. Then mac Jones got traded for a 6 th took away any value return for Justin. So he took the beat option for Justin going to Pittsburgh. Its a 2025 pick to end up wit the 4 th instead of the 6 th. He couldn't get it now. Ideally he should have kept him to raise his value as Caleb developed. It would have been a circus. So he had to do it now.

Poles gets to take heat for the results but we have a better team with a potential Mahomes 2.0 QB on the horizon. plus another top 10 pick. If he gets this right , we will be competing for SBs for many years to come. The bright side will be no big expense on a QB for 4 years. I just hope a selfish Caleb doesn't pop up a couple years from now and holds out for a new contract because he thinks he's special. Super egos carry baggage with them.

I don't have a problem with the results. He waited to gain more information on the rookies before deciding. I would be more pissed for him to jump in the QB Russian roulette to get a higher pick. Doing right by Justin was getting him out of here at any cost.instead keeping him around to the chaos that follows. Now how do we get more picks and not trade pick one.

I don't need to say I'm disappointed, I rooted for Justin because I always want good people to succeed. He was our QB until Poles moved him, so I can move on. Now all the I'm smarter than you crowd can gloat for the next few days. I just became a Steelers (B) fan.Bears (A) because I still think Justin can be a above average NFL player in the league. Next step is Caleb our QB or will Poles surprise us?

Now everything is cleared up. We can move on to a new QB and no more fighting.
