I agree how well teams play when they have good running games. You cant really use it in a box thou, it's many factors that affect outcome. We are within 100 yds of Chiefs, Chargers,Texans and Viking yet they are all more balanced teams and we arent very good. A better running game would have been huge for the development of Caleb this year. Also good defensive play adds to winning. I think Jeanty would have huge impact on our team, but if you dont fix the OL, that will be limited. He may be enough of a want that other teams may trade up to get him putting us in a better position to fix the trenches. Lat year picking Odunze at 9 will have great future results but not that great in his first year. Had we pickes a OL there , Im not sure it would have had a great immediate effect but could be huge in the second yr. The handful of OL picked right after us hasnt been overwelming but later picks like Zach Frazier, Puni have shined. . If we can add several OL and DL in free agency, then that would be a great option. Our next coach will value the running as well as defense if he wants to have an immsdiate impact in wins and put Caleb in a better place to be successful.

Maybe we should have a bad football thread to co exist also. Campbell makes some good decisions that look good and bad decisions that doesnt work out. In certain situations some things work and others would not be successful. A great play design could be blown up by a penalty but still would have been a good football play. Kramer blow up a perfect red zone play on a penalty and then when they did it again it worked out.

You are right stats can deceive you, football has so many random outcomes there are many examples of stats not mattering. The only stat that matters is wins and loses and so many variables are involved in that, its hard to make points on stats alone.

Week 16 Official Game Thread - Against some team at some time on some date

I think good teams have less errors to contend with during a game. Bad teams make more so each one is critical to the outcome but good and bad teams both are affected in wins and loses with strange bounces. Goff had 5 ints in a game which would normally mean a loss but did enough good things to compesate.. If you bet on football you realize how random luck is involved in a game, hard to pin point a certain data point. -

Someone put a spell on us, like you said , we lose in such strange ways. -
I've been living on the ledge since 1965, i only got to get off for a few yrs. Cant say its comfortable out there but I would like to get off for good. I agree with your prespective. People talk about Caleb being damaged with all the chaos around him, but I believe his talent will overcome that. All the negativity has us looking down at everything but I think we are only a few players away but being a consistant winner with the right coach. How would this look had the Hail Mary would not have been successful at Washington? 5-2 with lots of confidence flowing on the team. We probably would have lost on the road to AZ but won at home with NE. 6-3. The positive vibes may have gave us a few more wins even with the coaching chaos and injuries. How would it look right now with 8-9 wins? We will never know.

We dont really know whoever their choice is how it will turn out. Optitics show us he at least Vrabel would command respect and demand accountability. Has a winning record with experience. Every canidate has its good and bad points, just hope they luck out and get the right one because its still the same people deciding on the choice.

I have been looking at a lot of draft sites (because) we are losers. I just see names and dont really know depth of talent but mainly try to address positions. At each spot to take a player, instead of getting a OT first was player rated value. Example: 3rd rated DT instead of 6th rated OT, somethng like that. Trading back was just how a simulator introduced it.

More reason to do talks now before more jobs open up. There is no rules when he is not employed.

Lots of things to complain about ,Wright is not perfect, but has good upside. i seen in the Philly game, Juergens their pro bowl C, get run over and gave up a sack. No one has to be perfect to be considered good. For Sweat, his has had nagging health issues that has effected his play, everyone cant be judgrd in a small box.

I always try to find reasons to support whoever is running the Bears, coaching , players but the Bears are making it hard to be loyal to anybody. As one guy put it, you are measured by wins in the NFL. Failure for everyone. To measure Poles with all that has happend he should have at leasted got us to one more win this year. His roster keeps putting up alert signs. The new coaches have failed but they were not put in a good situation. Caleb has some issues but to much chaos around him to properly judge him. As far as a lot of good talent that has not looked good, same thing, they will look better under more stability. People talk about about Caleb getting wreaked, he is to talented to have one yar disrupt his career. The good: We have enough draft capital and cap space to fix most of the weaknesses. As bad as Kiran looked he could end up being a good player. To put him on a island being named the starter the day before the game is CRIMINAL. Im not very smart and it was clear to me. Caleb shows signs of greatness but hasnt been put in a good position to suceed. Our defense has some talent on it but with Billings, Dexter, Brisker being out, Stevenson mental case play, it can be good again. Swift has enough talent to look good once the OL gets fixed. a FB on the roster would have been an asset in the run game. Johnson is our power guy and when healthy will be fine. We went from 2nd in the league last yr to 21st now. OL fix and FB will cure that. DJ Moore is our best offensive player, Odunze has talent, bye bye to Allen. Plenty of 3rd WRs in free agency to fix the 3 spot. Once Kmet becomes part of the game plan, he will look a lot better. We have a good punter and kicker.

You're rubbing off on me, I am starting to hate everybody too.
