  1. I find it more likely that the Bears would draft a speed receiver early then a TE like Eifert.
  2. He fills a major need but I still think G and LB are our top needs. Guard being the greatest of needs.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go DT if one were there that they really liked. Who knows what their long-term plans for Melton are. I think all of the other positions previously mentioned are far more likely though.
  4. Lots of really good moves over the past 7 days. I like this a lot more then Emery's previous offseason. I hope I like Emery's draft a lot more too.
  5. Nice move. Bears got two guys for the price of Urlacher (actually a little less then). I like it. Still have a need to draft one but its nice to know we now have 3 quality vets who can play the position and play it pretty well.
  6. Freaking awesome SCS. That is super cool. Congrats!!!
  7. Urlacher had a hell of a career and I wish him nothing but the best. He irritated me at times and he could end up busting his ass and coming back more explosive (he's a hard working dude) but unfortunately its that time for his career to near an end. Urlacher irritated me from time to time with what he said but he always played his ass off and he really was a tremendous player and will always be a Bear!!!
  8. When healthy and eligible to play, DJ Williams is a really good linebacker. Versatile too in that he could be outside or inside. I still think the Bears go guard and linebacker (in no particular order) in the first two rounds of the draft. Nick Barnett would be a solid signing as well.
  9. Makes sense. Spaeth was a solid back-up TE that could block but its now the Bennett/Rodriguez show.
  10. I thought the Raiders were about to release him. I'd like him but I don't know that i'd just hand him the starting job.
  11. I like it a lot. If we get Cooper in the 1st round I'll be ecstatic.
  12. Cooper is the guy I'd love at 20. If we took him, I wouldn't draft another olinemen early though. We'd have to move towards other areas of need, such as LB and CB.
  13. I always look at it as did you address the needs? To me this filled the two biggest needs and allows you to go BPA in the draft (which is huge). Albeit, I expect LB/Guard in the first two rounds. I'd get pretty stoked if the top guard is on the board at 20. If he is...draft him and I'll be even happier. A good young guard to go with a good (not great) LT which also makes the RT spot better (with Webb sliding over) would be huge, imo.
  14. Updated title and merged the two threads. While I liked another LT more, I really can't complain. Kramer is comfortable with him and knows him and obviously believes he can protect and do a good job. This also allows our RT spot to get significantly better (I think Webb over their is a huge huge upgrade over the pile of feces Carimi was). Carimi can now compete at guard or prove/earn a job at the tackle spot. Bears now can look at guard in the draft (possibly) or can move on to linebacker / best player available in the 1st round (which is quite nice). Can't argue that the Bears just filled 2 of their biggest needs (TE & Oline help) via free agency. I'm sure this was a very expensive signing.
  15. All things considered, he's an upgrade. Webb at RT is a major upgrade over Carimi (the two of them can battle out).

  17. Any idea what the $ are? This is a good move. Good all around tight end and a major upgrade over Davis.
  18. Give me the LT and let Webb/Carimi compete for RT.

    WHY????

Probably because he doesn't get paid much and he's still one of the best TE's on our roster so until they upgrade they won't just dump him. Just a guess. And the best tight end on this roster is like being the best garbage in the trash can.
  20. What does that mean for Cambell's price tag. He's got to be priced out of the Bears backup job, correct?
  21. He was cheap and solid in nickel coverage by and large. I agree with you, seems like an unnecessary move this early in the off-season.
  22. Tavon is a first round pick. Probably somewhere between 15 & 25.
  23. Cutler has worked with Rodgers a bit and that is what led to Cutler/Aaron being pretty good friends. I think he'd love to come to the Bears but Bears won't draft him (he's way more likely to be a UDFA).
