  1. Bears have 2 tough games ahead. Got to play strong and win out!!! Don't stop...believing...hold onto that feeling!!!
  2. It really was pathetic. This is bad because it means Rodgers is playing in 2 weeks.
  3. Piss off. 3 TD's and practically perfect in the 2nd half.
  4. If we let him test the market, we might as well let him walk. He's going to get a lot of money if we are playing with other teams. I think the Bears are starting Jay because he is there guy and they will work quickly to sign him to a fair deal for both sides. One that gives the Bears flexibility to keep Marshall and address the defense.
  5. In Minnesota, Trestman failed to step on the throat of anyone. He got so conservative after the Bears built the comfortable lead and stayed conservative in overtime as well. He knew damn well with our defense and a good Cowboys offense that he had to keep his foot down and thankfully the Bears executed (and the Cowboys couldn't hold onto any of the potential interceptions that were thrown).
  6. Had this happened two years ago…we'd have been in business and Lovie would have been HC, we could have hired Kubiak as OC. Someone will hire a great OC in Kubiak. Thankfully our offense is in good shape. Defense…well….I wish we could get Marinelli back or luck into a really good DC being available. Maybe the Texans will fire Wade Phillips. He'd be a great DC if the team did opt away from Tucker. I give Tucker a pass for a lot of things, specifically the injuries, but the overall poor play and blown tackles, that I really have a hard time giving our coaching staff a pass for. I also will puke if Decammilis is still around. He's a freakin joke of a ST guy (and no freaking way should he be our assistant HC).
  7. Our defense was extremely disciplined under Lovie and Marinelli.
  8. I think even without the special teams scoring, etc, those were the offensive scoring amounts. McCown has moved the ball but struggled in the red zone. He has been a great backup but I'll take Cutler as my starter any day of the week. I do think Jay could learn a few things from Josh though and I have full faith in Trest and this offense and as much as I want to complain, I liked some of the 4th down calls (just not the most recent one in the Rams game) and didn't like the field goal call (but Gould normally is automatic in a dome). Either way, it is nice to see this team compete with a backup unlike the past couple years where they completely collapsed. I can't even judge our defense. It is so decimated via injuries it is too hard to evaluate. The sad part is, I thought they played one of there best games through the first three quarters again Minny (it is Minny though). They clearly don't have the pieces to stop the run in the interior and if you can get Melton to sign a fair deal, the team has to, because we only have so many draft picks and a lot of needs on the defensive side of the ball.
  9. I think the messaging could also have more to do with them believing in him and wanting to sign him long term at the right value or thats how I'd message it. I know Cutler has said he's open to it but overall players don't like the franchise cause it prevents them from getting the big lifetime guarantee contract with a bigtime signing bonus.
  10. I wasn't all that impressed with his performance today. Yes, yardage wise was nice, but I thought a lot of stuff was left on the field and I also thought he made some really poor decisions at times. Still, for a backup, he's played superb.
  11. Division is up for grabs. Bears need PAEA and badly.
  12. This is going to be a huge test for our run defense and our oline. Lets go Bears!!!
  13. Why would Mel Tucker switch to a 3-4? I know he has experience in both systems but it wasn't like he ran a 3-4 in Jacksonville.
  14. RIP. A great player and an even better man!
  15. All I know is Ratliff at 85% is better then what we have. If he could come back, he could be a potential hail mary at getting the defense to start looking better. Have no problem signing him (worse case, he doesn't play and you drop him).
  16. The biggest news is you get a good chance to continue to evaluate his progress. It really is too bad we don't have easy games in that span so McCown and the defense (somehow) are going to have to really step up.
  17. In the locker room, as per Michael C. Wright. I am sure we will find out soon. I wonder if it is players or coaches or both.
  18. It is going to give Greene (sp?) and Bostic a heck of an opportunity. Bostic will start to call plays I presume so it will be a great opportunity for him.
  19. Consistently Briggs has been a great player. Really sucks to lose him. Get better Briggsy. This will give our young linebackers a chance to step up and get some development time.
  20. We are in a retooling phase. The offense has a ton of weapons and i don't see how you necessarily rebuild with this sort of offensive firepower. I hope Cutler is okay cause he was looking like a guy that might be the franchise QB we expected him to be. I don't see why you don't invest in him (even if it is a severe injury) as it will save money and the Bears can then focus this off-season on making the defense younger (and looking for a center to replace Garza). We have one of the top scoring offenses in the NFL this year and it was going to keep getting better (that might not be the case now if we don't have Cutler in the huddle).
  21. I just want to point out that it is a new system and he was completing like 70% of his passes and looking pretty darn good. He's matured significantly and I think (albeit its just what I think), we'd have one of the top 5-7 offenses in the league by season end. Cutler made a ton of progress this year and was getting better every week. A week ago he played one of his best games in a Bears uniform (looked so comfortable and would have had a more monstrous game if Alshon didn't trip and drop a few balls...Cutler also left a couple out there too).
