That is concerning. I was hoping Mills would be able to take a step forward this year. Hopefully he'll gain some speed as he continues to build his conditioning from the broken foot. I really hope we see Long back this week.

You have to also add time to factor in the snap until the punt (not sure how much time that is). Also on the flip side, your gunners are going to have to battle with blocks, etc, so that will effect time to get down too.

I don't get this. In reality, Bears made him the best offer of any organization. it wasn't as much as he wanted, he spouted about how he could get more and then he couldn't. I know some say the Bears handled it harsher then they should and really didn't seem to want him, but they put more money out there (and significantly more) then any other team.

Does anyone have a ticket connection? I'm looking for 2 tickets to the Niners Bears game. I don't want to pay an arm and a leg and have hoped to get lucky on the individual game sale for San Fran but being the first game in the new stadium, obviously high demand. Am crossing my fingers someone somehow has a Niner connection (or a real good Bear connection) to get tickets at or near face.

The funny thing is, I don't live in either of those. When I bought my house, the previous owner had a dish (not sure which company but if one company worked, presumably the other worked) and most of my neighborhood uses satellite. I happen to use Uverse.

Shockingly, my address was available. Everyone in my neighborhood has a satellite (well not everyone, but most). I'm stoked though cause with the little one at home, this will make it much easier on the mrs for me to watch games but still be able to help out a bit.

Funny...they announced that today. I thought the only way you could do online previously is if you were in an area where you couldn't get satellite or something like that.

I am hoping somehow as part of the negotiated extension, Sunday Ticket gets expanded to Uverse. If it does, I'm set. Would be great if they legacied it in somehow in their negotiations (even if it was something as simple as online access).

I don't see what Palmer has done to prove himself. Claussen has a nice pedigree and really never had much of a chance in Carolina. I personally like the move and think there is potential for some nice upside (could be groomed into a pretty good back up).

I think it will be hard for us to score the type of points we did last year though too. I think the offense can be better but I also think we have Forte getting older, Marshall getting older, etc. Like our oline and love the idea of a 2nd year of Trestman but there will also be more footage out there too. I think we have potential super bowl capabilities but a lot still has to happen as planned and hopefully you don't have any crushing injuries. I'm extremely excited for this upcoming year but also the direction the franchise seems to be heading. We definitely need last years draft picks (as well as the current years) to step up and grow though cause that really is the key to long-term sustained success (well that and Cutler).

Completely agree. I have bitched at Emery in the past but I am extremely pleased with how the organization has addressed our needs. The next step is hoping that those guys produce and develop as expected and that the vets come in and play as we all hope and expect!!! We also have to hope our existing young players and veterans can take steps forward too.

I've been probably one of the most anti Emery guys on the board and it has been because he hasn't won me over through the drafts.

It is a need pick so i can live with it. Seems like we would be better off trading down but I guess you never know who else is on the list and who might take him. We all know I will always or almost always say trade down, especially when we need to get some more picks to maybe help us move up to ensure we can get the safety we want (and to potentially grab a RB / Speed wideout as those are the two offensive positions I'd like to draft). Seems like a major reach though which is a Emery trend. I look at reaches as not maximizing value of our pick. If we hit on it, great, we have better scouts and that is awesome, but we also need to leverage that knowledge and move down and take advantage of more options to take advantage of that scouting.

@BradBiggs: I am told #Bears are drafting LSU DT Ego Ferguson with 51st overall pick in 2nd round.

Baltimore has had a great draft. I'd have really liked that draft for the Bears.

I know there was at least a tribune article or two on Fuller that I remember reading and Bears brought him in.
