  1. All training camp those following the Bears on a regular basis were saying that Williams was stinking up camp and there was a chance he wasn't even going to break training camp on the roster. That was an indictment enough. Supposedly he was lazy, put in little work, and didn't do anything the coaching staff asked him to do. Which is really pathetic when you consider he was fighting for a spot.
  2. They still have to do it against teams with above average to elite pass rushes. There are going to be games that the Bears are going to have to score a lot of points and against strong pass rushes. That is our achilles heal.
  3. They had almost 200 yards of total offense in the 1st half. It wasn't like they weren't moving the ball. Game was very simlar to the Cowboys game. Effective offense in the 1st half (but not enough points to show for it), domination in the 2nd half.
  4. They didn't get the points in the first half, but offense was moving the ball pretty effective during the 1st half.
  5. Dude had his 3rd highest rating of his career. When you look at a small moment, things happen. Big picture, things are fine and the Bears are moving forward and getting better, which is exactly what they need to do.
  6. Jennings is playing stellar.
  7. Shea has looked pretty good. Where were you the other days when he had pretty solid games. Guy is getting better and has shown a consistent motor and knack for getting into the backfield.
  8. This will be a tough game. Lets step up and get a W!!! Protect the QB, run the football, limit the turnovers, attack their QB.
  9. This offense will get better. And this Bears team will win 10 to 11 games.
  10. I've long said they should have traded him. While he was a special returner, he's always had special blocking on those returns as well.
  11. Not sure what game you guys were watching, but I saw Cutler miss on maybe 2-3 throws all game. Otherwise, when he got time he made good throws and when he didn't, well he still at times ad-libbed and made plays. If it weren't for the Bears dropping some easy passes (as well as Marshall whiffing on the one that led to the only interception), his completion percentage is much higher and the Bears offense would have put more points up. I had zero issue with the way Cutler played today. Offense made mistakes and the line was bad, but Cutler was solid.
  12. Big game for the Bears. Rams are a solid team.
  13. Given some of the questions going around, I will call it close to a must win game. If the Bears were to lose and the offense struggled, that would be terrible. However, I could see a scenario where the team lost but it didn't necessarily ruin the seaosn (e.g., offense plays well, but Bears lose on special teams plays/bad breaks or defensive lapses). This is a huge game for the offense and the team though. No doubt about that.
  14. Point taken, but Cutler needs to take blame himself as well.
  15. Agreed. Bears really need to get passed this game and pick up a win against the Rams. And Jay Cutler needs to mature. He's improved as a QB, but to take the next step, he has to mature as a man.
  16. The worse part is, Cutler throws all of his picks in bunches and he certainly seems like it is primarily against the Packers. Cutler had won 6 straight games prior to this loss. I think most people are overreacting, but most importantly, I really hope the Bears learn from this game.
  17. Personally I think it is far too early to say that. In week 1 the Bears put up the 5th most yardage ever by a Lovie Smith coached team. Week 2 was a disaster, but I'm not ready to make that statement. I think Marshall was the bigger need. That wasn't to say we didn't have a need on the o-line. And I still think this isn't the worse o-line in football. It definitely isn't one of the 10 best either though and the goal should be to get it to that spot.
  18. Two great games for Jennings!
  19. Not sure what game you watched, but the defense was outstanding.
  20. I 100% agree. However, I actually am still very confident after yesterday's loss. The Bears did a lot of things wrong, but I no longer think the Packers out-talent them and I think as this offense improves and gels, it will do a better job against GB. What I saw was a horrible game plan with even more terrible execution. What Tice asked his line to do was Martz-esque early in the game. The best o-line in football would have struggled against this game plan (and we all know the Bears aren't that). The defense was outstanding last night though.
  21. OL was terrible and the play-calling was terrible. The Bears could have ran the ball all night long, but for some stupid reason they didn't. Where was the mis-direction plays to throw the scent off. Where was the constant use of our running game (which was effective all night). Those are just some of the things the Bears could have done. Where were the adjustment (3 step drops). I could have sworn Martz was calling the plays. However, I don't think this game was as bad as it would appear. This wasn't like past games against GB, where the Packers beat the Bears. This game had much more to do with the Bears self-imploding. Consistent drops (and Bennett single-handedly causing an interception on what would have been a 1st down), bad play calls, and stupid penalties (Carimi's penalty was brutal and cost the Bears what would have been at the time some points). Cutler had a brutal night, however, to be honest, I fully expected him to suck ass from late in the 3rd on. He was spent after yelling at everyone and getting hit. The last couple sacks were 100% on him being an idiot holding onto the ball too long. Jason, I think it was you, but you talked about how Cutler was spending too much time looking at Marshall and last night, that is exactly what happened. He kept waiting for Marshall but with the double-coverage and the play taking too long, by the time he realized he didn't have him, it was too late. I really hope the Bears use the next 10 days to realize they have a lot of work to do (and I expected this offense to struggle a bit out of the gate at time as they still learn what is going on and get comfortable working with each other). Hopefully Forte isn't too badly injured and the 10 days off will mean we get him at near 100%.
  22. Lets start off the year 2-0. Lets go Bears!!!
  23. I thought the same thing. I had read Cutler's quote about a day or two days before the article on NFL.com and took nothing of it. But the media knows how to blow quotes out of context. Either way, the key to this game is the Bears executing. They have the talent to beat anyone in the league in my opinion, but how they execute, well, thats the difference, imo. Protect the football, protect the QB, get to the opposing QB, stay in your rushing lines, make sound tackles, and force some turnovers.
