  1. Robinson is interesting. Did he really finally break out or is he more of a fluke. He has great athletic skills so you have to like his tools, but the question is why did he get cut and struggle so much previously. The issue i have with Colston is he is more of a slot guy so I wonder how the Bears would do having there 2 best wideouts being slot guys (e.g., Bennett & Colston). That said, depending on the system the Bears run, you have those two guys, and add a speed guy like Hill (or Wright) on the outside and combine that with Hester/Knox and it wouldn't be that bad.
  2. I agree. I've bagged and been anti Moss, but if he is running a 4.3, forget it and sign him.
  3. Chad Henne would be an interesting option.
  4. Dude wasn't even ready to play in there big playoff games cause he was out hammered till 2 or 3 AM. Jackson has all kinds of problems and I've heard tons of bad stuff about the guy from one of his teammates on the Chargers (who is a probowler...it isn't some nobody). I haven't necessarily heard it direct, but i've seen it via email correspondence with my buddy (who is also one of my senior's that I manage) whose shown it to me (cause him and I talk major crap on each others teams; his being the Chargers, mine being the Bears). Jackson is talented and he's clearly an upgrade but he's got flaws and some of them are concerning.
  5. Jackson is actually more similar to Berrian than you guys might think. He is primarily known as a deep threat and isn't necessarily known for being a strong slot/middle of the field receiver. That said, a lot of his catches are for first downs, but he isn't exactly the type of guy you throw the ball to at 3rd down and know the chain is moving (vs. a TO in their prime for example, that said, there aren't many players like that). Jackson is not a very strong fundemental wideout, he relies heavily on his pure physical athletism and is lazy which makes me extremely concerned a year or two down the road when he loses that speed (he'll be playing at age 29 this year).
  6. I still have major concerns over Jackson. Boy am I getting picky but I've just heard too many bad things about him on local LA/OC/San Diego radio. Guy has had all kinds of issues regarding how serious he takes his profession and I worry when he gets paid, he gets lazy. We'll see though.
  7. Lions will have a lot of money tied up to Avril, Stafford, and Calvin Johnson.
  8. I like the rumors. DE and Wideout would make a lot of sense and would allow the Bears some flexibility to target BPA in the draft, especially if someone like Martin slid to them.
  9. Good research. It makes sense that you can't trade down to get a restricted FA as it would have happened in the past. I don't think I'd give up the #19 for Wallace, given the Bears needs.
  10. Quite a few people. We couldn't trade Briggs for anything more than a 3rd rounder and he's a high profile player. Heck, there is a possibility we'd be able to deal a 3rd or 4th and Briggs for Osi. Draft picks are far more valuable than players. Basically in his scenario, he is valuing Osi as a 2nd round pick, which seems fair.
  11. He was talking about moving down and instead of getting a 2nd round pick getting Osi. Than with the 1st round later on, he'd sign Wallace (and thus you lose that 1st rounder). So essentially, our 1st round pick becomes (in a round about way), Wallace & Osi. We still have our 2nd pick. I think there are far worse things that could happen and I've already said if I were going to sign Wallace I'd first trade down and get an extra 2nd (or at a minimum an early 3rd).
  12. Simple, because the difference between our 1st rounder and the Giants 1st rounder is pretty significant. It is the exact reason why if I were the Bears and what I wanted wasn't there, I'd have zero problem moving down towards the end of the 1st round to add in an additional 2nd rounder (since the difference via draft value would be of a 2nd rounder). I'd be fine with a 1st, 2 2nd's, and 2 3rd's in what is a deep draft in a couple of the areas the Bears need to beef up.
  13. Louis looked like a pretty good guard to me.
  14. Lance Louis, Edwin Williams, Chris Williams, and Chris Spencer. 4 guys that can play guard (+ Garza, who is our starting center and previously was a long time guard).
  15. I think the Bears have a ton of OG depth.
  16. If Martin is there, I would be surprised if the Bears didn't pikc him up. No way are they picking up 2 OT's though.
  17. Haha....When I saw it, I thought the same thing. We have a lot of healthy disagreement here as a board (some fans in one camp, some in another) but this is clearly a unanimous upgrade!!!! Not too often a fan base celebrates a guy's release as much as we will Omilaye's, haha.
  18. And I'll be honest, I'm pretty happy about that.
  19. I have zero problem with that. I think it is a major need. I tend to think we probably would be better off moving down and than using 2 of our 1st 3 picks but if it happens to be that the BPA is a wideout at both of our 1st picks, than so be it. Bears need massive help at the wideout position.
  20. Barring a LT falling in our laps. I would expect nothing to change at the tackle spots.
  21. Well, this would appear a bit more likely. I hadn't saw this (but maybe it was posted a month ago), but the SunTimes was reporting back in January that the Bears are going to consider giving Williams another shot at LT. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4722/chris-williams
  22. I haven't read too many articles speaking with confidence that Knox will be back and healthy. That was a really really serious injury he suffered.
  23. While I realize it would be great to have perfect wideouts, Roy still has some value. He knows the offense, has some sort of relationship with our QB, and is a decent wideout. He's not near as terrible as some people on here make him out to be. The reality is the Bears basically have one wideout on our roster and he's been injury prone (Bennett). Knox is hurt, Sazenbacher is a UFA (smart player but physically, very limited) and Hester is a special teams guy (maybe he makes it as a wideout and with enough other weapons, he pans out, but he too has been a bit injury prone at the wide receiver spot). That means, at a minimum, the Bears need to add 3 wide-outs (replace Knox, Williams, and Hurd). However, I'd argue you probably need to add another (replace Sanzy or just add overall depth given the Bears injury problems and lack of depth). Say you sign one, you still need to draft 2. At that point, you can't pin early season expectations on your young wideouts kicking butt, so you probably need to have another cheap veteran (insert Roy Williams). I doubt the Bears do this much at the position but in my opinion they need to. If Knox was healthy, I wouldn't be as ademant, but you can't expect a 2nd round wideout and a 3rd round pick to just kick butt from the start, so you have to figure those guys grow into the position, which means you need to bring in 2 vets this off-season (1 bigger name; 1 solid but cheap guy that you can go to if needed).
  24. Pool jumping guy was in the 3rd round, IIRC. I don't like taking pure reaches (or physical tool picks) in the 1st round. There has to be some sort of production (or at least major reason for why they didn't produce) to take them super early (when compared to other guys).
