I thought that going into this game that this would be a great game for the Bears, win or lose. They would learn a lot about themselves and what they need to do better. I think they learned that they are a good football team, but I also think they learned about playing against some of the top teams and things the Bears will need to clean-up and improve on if they are going to be the top team by seasons end. I've long said this Bears team would improve significantly as the season went on and as the players adjust to our new coordinators and new players. So far it has happened sooner than anticipated but I still see stuff being left on the field and things to clean up. Some we might not have the personnell to clean-up, but as a whole I'm truly impressed with the 1st 3 games of the season. Call us lucky, call us whatever, I call that a bunch of BS. We have played solid football and are getting better. Our oline improved, still bad. Cutler regressed, but every QB has good and bad days and today his bad day wasn't near as bad as it has been previously. He matured and you could see it in his tone. Plus after the game, he admited the faults and continues to want to work better and to help things. The timing is still a thing of progress in our offense and it should be expected. Mart and Cutler clearly have a great rapport and you can tell on the sidelines when they work together. I really think when the coaches and players go over the game-film they will be able to learn a lot from this game and grow a lot individually as players, but also collectively as a team.

I love it. Our coaching staff is holding players accountable. This is the right call.
-
The Bears offense moved the ball most of the game. They didn't have it that often though and Cutler did take a lot of shots. There were some key drops by the Bears but as a whole the offense did pretty solid, despite a not so great game by Jay (a solid one for sure though).

We beat what I believe was the best team in football. Sure we played sloppy and they played sloppy, but we won. Lovie and our coaching staff has done a stellar job thus far this year. And your better than that. A large chunk of those penalties were because Peppers was freaking everywhere. On top of that, the Packers are the most penalized team in football over the past couple years. That is who they are.
-
When your that close, you go for 7. Packers have one of the best, if not the best, offenses in the league. A field goal wasn't going to be enough and in that situation, you have the perfect shot at a score. Jay should have made a better pass, but the ball was catchable. It was a great call and it worked beautifully, Dez just dropped a medicore Cutler throw.

Sounds like DA is inactive tonight as well.

His career in Chicago will officially be over by the end of the year.

Are you ready for some football...some MOnday night live!!!! The Bears and the Packers...here on a Monday Night!!!! Should be a doozie. I'm definitely concerned about the Packers defense against our oline. If the game is a blowout, I think it will be the Pack ripping us out. However, we got a chance and I'm hoping they'll surprise me and pull it out. Our key is going to be our defense getting to Rodgers and our oline keeping Jay alive and giving him time and of course our offense holding onto the ball (minimum # of Turnovers). Kick some ass guys!!!!

People were really high on Singletary but I remember the one thing I"ve always said is it doesn't seem like he's there as an X's and O's guy. He's a very smart guy, but he just isn't the coach that some of the other people were. He gained a lot of respect in that clubhouse and got the guys to play hard, but it seems like his knack is wearing thing on them. I've always said give me coaches and not people who just are good talkers. The coaches will find a way out, the good talkers will eventually get drowned out by the modern athlete. It is also why I don't necessarily have an issue with Lovie because I feel he has the personality to last long-term as a coach. I don't know if he has the x's and o's down all of the way, but he's better than most Bear fans think he is. Doesn't mean he's as good as we necessarily want to have. We will see though, he could look real smart by the end of this year if things go right. Part of that has to do with the fact that he's surrounded himself with excellent coaches (and we really do have a lot of top notch and well respected coaches).

RIP!!! Are they going to have some sort of tribute tonight? Or a moment of silence? One of the best to ever dawn a Bears uniform and one of our rare top notch offensive players!!!!
-
It sounded as if part of it was due to the gameplan. But, I also think a reporter had reported that it was the Bears way of sending a message to DA due to the drops he experienced last week. We'll see what happens next week.

No running back could do anything with the holes our line has been opening up the 1st 2 weeks.

Hester might have had a couple nice grabs, but lets not forget his horrific punter returning (going on 2 years) and the fact that he missed some huge blocks, most notably the block on a 3rd down play where Martz called a beautiful screen to Forte with Hester right there ready to block for him. If hester even touches the guy, it is a 1st down. And even a remotely decent block and you are talking about a potential touchdown. Instead, Hester whiffed. On the catch, it was well covered and a perfect ball, but it was catchable. Will a top notch receiver make that catch every time, no, but probably 7 out of 10 times.

I've never had that perception of Tillman. He's always came off as class and a hard worker. He's not the player he once was, but he's truly tremendous at stripping the ball and is a very "heady" player.

Fantastic win!!! After not being able to see much of last weeks game it was great seeing the Bears play and even better seeing em kick some butt!!! Cuter looked fantastic. Martz and Marinelli's did a nice job and the players executed. Still some stuff to clean up, but man thats a nice start to the season. Still, we got a tough schedule and 2 tough ass games coming up. Keep it up Bears!!! And Keep improving!!!!

Ya, I was in Cork for part of the day and than went back to Ennis where I'm staying and was able to catch the game at a small pub. The pubs were packed today though with both of those games going on during the afternoon. I got in just before last weeks game and will be leaving this upcoming Sunday from Dublin. I'm here for business, but went to the Cliffs of Moher and some caves this past weekend + Cork. Just beautiful country and everyone is so friendly. And I'll be done with work on Thursday and will than spend Fri and Saturday in Dublin and of course raise a glass on Thursday night for Arthur's Day!!!! What area are you in?

After struggling to find a stream of last weeks game from Ireland, I'll be happy to know that this one will be broadcasted on Skysports in full so I can watch it in a local pub in Ireland!!!! LETS KICK SOME COWPOKE ASS!!!!

No offense, but Martz has a pretty good track-record of developing offenses. Substantially better than your track record.
-
That was a typo, it was supposed to say Mike Tice (Who I respect heavily when it comes to identifying oline talent).
-
Oh and do I need to mention how the brilliant Jets want pretty much nothing to do with Joe McKnight who they took around the same time as Iglesias/Gilbert. And he was drafted this year. I think its actually better that we are cutting our losses immediately and I think part of it is because we now have better offensive coaches (Tice and Martz are elite). My biggest fear is that our offense makes strides throughout the season (it will start slowly) but they'll end up getting outsted when we bring in a new coach and will have to start all over (because as a whole we will not be very good). I really like what we have on the offensive side of the ball from a coaching perspective.
-
So we have shitty WR's or thats what you are saying, yet that crap was still apparently better than Iglesias. And you know what, I got a feeling that Mike Martz knows a whole hell of a lot about offensive talent so I'm going to have to take his word on things and trust that a bulk of the offensive decisions (cuts/kept) were made by him and his coaches (including a very much respected Mike Tice in regards to Beekman). I'm incredibly dissapointed that we missed on so many 3rd round picks as of late, but we hit on Knox late and that works. And at the time, people were happy we get Iglesias since some places had him projected as a 1st rounder. Turns out he just wasn't able to pick up things that quickly in Chicago. Maybe in time he develops elsewhere, but I can't fault our staff for dumping him. Most of the beat writers said he didn't look that great in camp, etc.

Hey Chile. I think I'm going to have the package this year and I believe they are giving me the ToGo thing for free. I will be using it for a few weeks, but when I'm not, I'd be glad to let you have access to it. I don't have any of the info yet, but when I do I'll reach out to you. There will be about 4 weeks where I'm out of the country for business where I will be using the access, but outside of that, I won't ever use it.

I was so unimpressed with LeFevour. He was warming up on the sidelines and throwing the ball errantly as well. Hanie made a moronic decision, but it happens and they are adjusting. THe thing I liked most was whenever the offense was off on the sidelines, you would see Tice around the whole group of olineman coaching them up, working with them. I also saw him at numerous times chatting it up with Chris Williams. The big thing was, you could just tell that Tice commands respect. DA needs to start. The guy is just a rock and Knox is so much better than Hester it isn't even funny.

Hopefully everyone stays healthy. I just picked up some tickets for the game so I'm hoping to see a Cutler TD!!! Don't get the opportunity to see the Bears out here, so I figured the 22 bucks I dropped per preseason ticket was well worth it.
-
I'm not all that concerned. Our top 4 WR's are all going to see significant action and we pretty much will have 3 starters the majority of the time since we'll run a lot of 3 WR sets, imo.
