  1. I can't get excited, especially when I read things like this: This is yet another time where he's hurt. I realize its precautionary but when ISN'T he hurt. Sure he's hella fast, but can he even play football cause I've yet to even see him do anything in a Bear jersey (including practices).
  2. More MiniCamp News: Fantastic news, Bradley is already practicing after missing a good chunk of last year with an ACL injury. Bradley had really been gaining steam last season with Orton at the helm and will hopefully be able to have a complete off-season with us this year and go out and really help our WR depth this year. Those two are the main guys fielding punts right now. I assume Hester will take the job though, especially since Berrian will likely be getting a boatload of snaps on the offense.
  3. This is fantastic news. Really glad to have them both at camp and I hope they will remain with the team and come into halas hall from time to time before training camp (which is next on the list).
  4. I love me some Tom Brady. Best QB in the league
  5. My name is Jason and I'm 23 and a Bearaholic. I'm a big sports fan and I graduated from college last week and will begin my career as a CPA in September. My other teams of interest are the Sox, Bulls, Notre Dame, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Oh ya and I'm from Southern California and am still waiting by the phone to be called on to star in the upcoming season of Laguna Beach
  6. We have a lot of posters on this site, some more active than others, and I think that now, during the off-season (while things are slow) would be as good a time as any for everyone to quickly introduce themselves, how they found the site, how they grew up to like the Bulls, any suggestions, etc. We want to make everyone really comfortable here and YOU are the reason this place exists, so if you ever have any comments or suggestions for how to improve this place, don't hesitate to tell us.
  7. You'd think he realize that the reason he was able to do what he did last year was because he worked his ass off and took advantage of a guy that didn't get into camp on time (albeit a rookie, but Benson would have had a good shot at being the starter pr at least getting a lot more time had he got in ASAP). I'm hoping this isn't as bad as the media makes this out to be because Jones has always had a premium attitude and a great work ethic in this league.
  8. Nope, technically speaking no one is. However, the Bears have lost a couple TE's and my guess is we will give him every chance to break camp as our last TE and will continue to groom him into a potential starter a few years down the road. The progress reports have said that Desmond Clark has been producing very well and seems to be better grasping Turner's system. Clark has long had the talent, but has had trouble staying healthy. He's a good blocking tight end and can get open, but he has had some bouts with fumbles and drops.
  9. Supposedly he would have been a much higher draft pick but he had missed the prior season with an injury and ran a very fast time at the combine while he wasn't even close to healthy. The guy was apparently one of the fastest guys in college football a couple years ago and the Bears coaching staff and top management think he'll be exactly that in the NFL. Injuries and how he will actually play in the league are what I'm curious to see. If he's healthy and able to run solid routes (plus catch the ball) he will be a very good WR, but you could say that about a lot of guys.
  10. And he seems to have a very good work ethic. He was askinga lot of questions in practice and was really doing all he could to be better prepared. I know he probably sin't the smartest guy in the world (hence why he wasn't at Nebraska for 4 years and that says something) but he's shown the right attitude thus far and has all the physical tools. Lovie seems very high on him and the nice thing is they really think he'll be ready early on as opposed to later (and I expected him to be one fo those guys that helped us out as the season progressed but really didn't turn into a plus pick for another year or two).
  11. Hey Bears4ever, could you resize your sig. Its a little big. If you don't have a program that resizes, I can do it for ya and change it. Just tell me Thanks
  12. Daniel Manning It appears Lovie is expecting him to battle with Chris Harris to become the starter opposite Mike Brown during training camp. Lovie apparently is looking for more speed and feels Harris lacks in that area, while Manning is a very fast safety. It will be interseting to see if Manning can develop that early. I was thinking he was still a bit raw and would have a little bit of a rough adjustment period, simply because he's going to making a big jump in terms of competition.
  13. I also want to say I'm sick of hearing about Currie. We really must be damn high on him so I'm looking forward to seeing him ACTUALLY play. Go figure, you can only get so much hype for sitting off the football field. We know he is fast as hell, but can he run routes, can he catch the ball, and is he still insanely fast IN pads. Oh and can he stay healthy.
  14. Another interesting situation is the WR spot. Here's what Briggs is saying and it looks like Bradley will be starting opposite Mush.
  15. Its going to be interesting to see whehther Briggs and Jones will finally show up. They stopped going to off-season workout program and Jones has been very frustrated. Rosenhaus represents both of them, but Angelo claims to have a good relationship with Drew. Tommie Harris and Ogunley are the two other Rosenhaus clients that we also have on the roster (That I know of at least).
  16. But here is a clip of Daniel Manning kicking some butt in college: Daniel Manning Clip - via You Tube
  17. Now its once again stalling. Don't know if its because of the holiday weekend, but it doesn't seem like there has been any more news on this situation.
  18. Jones is the starter, but there is a reason Benson was the top collegiate back a year ago (not Ronnie Brown who was a combine machine). However, Benson needs to come into camp in great shape and ready to play. Last season he held out and really wasn't in a position to do much anything and than he got hurt and didn't come back. With Jones attitude issues this year (which came out of nowhere), I am looking for Benson to earn and gain a lot more carries and if all goes well I expect him to be our opening day starter a year from now.
  19. We resigned him to a one year deal a while back. The deadline had passed for teams to make an offer for him (he was a restricted free agent) so we got him for the 1 yr tender.
  20. I'm a huge Briggs fan and I realize some say he may be better because he's around Urlacher, but the guy is one of the best outside linebackers in the league and he plays hard and has been a great fit to our defense. Now I just hope they make this damn thing official.
  21. He did ask to be traded or suggested it (well his agent may have been the one to do so). Basically put the Bears are not planning (and won't) fullfill his request. He is under contract to play here and will be here for at least one more season (at that point we may trade him, especially if Benson emerges).
  22. According to Mac, Jurko, and Harry on ESPN 1000 the deal is basically done. It will be very similar to Urlachers deal (in fact they said it will be bigger). Apparently the Bears are also planning to renegotiate Urlachers deal.
  23. Not talented enough to do this, but I like our roster a lot and I think we added a ton of depht with this most recent draft and that depth will help our defense continually dominate (kind of like the Bucs have been able to do).
  24. It was in the paper out in LA today that Manning could get as many as 4yrs in jail. Being he's an athlete he'll probably somehow get off with probation, but if he is gone for 4 years I assume the Bears wouldn't have to pay him any money?
  25. For those that think Hester was a reach (and I realize this may not change your mind on that) but a report in Denver said that the Bronco's would have taken him with there 2nd round draft pick (meaning he wouldn't have been available). Mix this with the fact that the Titans were that close to drafting him over Lendale White and its at least nice to know that we couldn't have gotten him any lower. There is no doubting the guys athletism, it just hurts that he isn't a great football player already (not even at the collegiate level). On the bright side, if he was already proven at a position, we wouldn't have been able to draft him, so now we just have to hope we can teach him to become good, if we can, he turns into a very good pick. Considering our depth in the secondary (newfound depth at that), we should be able to have him slowly groomed into that spot while he really helps out our special teams unit.
