Currie IR'ed
We don't need to cut him cause there is no harm holding him on IR and seeing if he can get healthy but I wouldn't plan on him making a roster ever again with the Bears. That said the ability is definately there so no harm seeing if he can figure out a way to fix things. Of course I would be shocked if it happens and he'll likely be waived in the off-season. Maxey is a solid pickup though. 5th round pick this year by the Chiefs who seems to have some ability. That said its usually a bad sign when your a defensive back getting dropped by the Chiefs (even though there secondary is a little better this year than years past, but thats not saying much).

Bears vs Seattle Seahawks game four game thread
Oh, I want to point one thing out. I think Cedric Benson is OUR best running back. The guy is never brought down by the first guy that hits him and he has an extra burst. I want to see us get him way more involved in the offense and eventually have him as our #1.

The Introduction Thread
There is a huge bears bar in burbank. Forget the name of it, but thats a good place to go. If he looks up Bars in burbank and calls around I think he'd find it. I know of one down my way, but its about an hr drive without traffic from LA.

Hester with a nice return and we are in Seahawk territory again. 5 sacks by our defense, but we have a ton of pressures. The best thing I saw though was how Alex Brown has done a pretty damn good job getting pressure on Hasselbach despite being pit up against the best LT in football.

HE seems to make plays whenever he's on the field. You got to like that out of a 5th round rookie. Seems to have a good motor.

Wow, this is some kind of football game. I'm totally loving this. Hopefully we can stay healthy and finish this baby strong!!!! Tommie Harris with a sack. We are freaking manhandling them.

Tickets to the game? Get there early
1st home game of the season. Hopefully the crowd will be going NUTS!!!!

Bears injury updates
Mark Bradley will also play, according to KFFL. Good think it appears we will enter the Detroit game relatively healthy, hopefully the team can play good and leave relatively healthy as well with another W.

Bears/Lions game thread week#2
SHould be a great game. I'm so bummed I'm going to miss it. I never miss Bears games, but now I got a career and well I guess stuff will come up from time to time. Either way, thought it was worth noting that KFFL is reporting that Mark Bradley will play which is good news.

Charles Rogers
The guy was an all around stud, but the question would be whether he'll ever regain that athletic ability. If he still had it right now, you wouldn't think he'd be having this much trouble landing a 2nd gig. That said, I still say I'd take a flier on him, especially after reading how Bradley is only expected to take about 30 snaps the first 2-4 weeks of the season.

Gamethread: I apologize
Understandable. Stuff happens and we've closed the thread so it can end and we don't get any told you so's or anything like that. I'm sure we are all happy about that nice 1-0 START, now lets play good against the Lions

Harris blames 'dirty' Packers for leg injury
The guy has a motor. I hope he stays healthy for a long time because he has the ability to be one of the premiere tackles of this decade.

Lions Wideout Roy Williams Guarantees Victory
The Lions are the 2nd best team in the division IMO, that said, if the Bears play well they should win. Of course there is no guarantee that happens and if I were a Lion fan I'd be really pumped up that for once the players seem confident and cocky enough to go out and predict a win.

Around the NFC
Both the Giants and Cowboys lost. These are two teams that will likely be in the thick of the playoff race the entire year and its always a good thing when teams you are competing with for the playoffs (even though I fully expect us to win the division) lose. We also saw the Seahawks suffer a scare and well we will be playing the team that gave them the scare (Detroit) in our home opener. The Cardinals were solid in a win and may be a contender, while the Saints Reggie Bush had a monster day and there offense really looked pretty strong (they got quite a few weapons). You also had the Panthers (it seems like everyone's super bowl pick) losing in the first week to the Falcons so my week 1 power rankings would have the Bears as the top dog followed closely by the Seahawks.

And that is a Bears Winner!
I hated NBC in the preseason but thus far I'm really enjoying the product they are putting out there. The half time show was very good and Madden/Michaels while not the very best in the league, its still very very enjoyable to listen to. In fact, they sound better together than they did during Monday night. Now if only Eli can find a way to get the Giants the lead.

Great game

Could the Bears win this on Special Teams?
Hester has some vision and he had two pretty damn good returns, one of which got us a TD!!!!

And that is a Bears Winner!
Tremendous win. Our defense played well and Sexy Rexy looked fantastic, aside from that one horrible ball into the end zone (I can only hope he was trying to throw it long out of the end zone but because of the pressure wasn't able to get enough on the throw). Mush was absolutely the man, thats what we paid for, he made big catch after big catch and showed why prior to last season many thought he had the best hands in football (aside from Jimmy Smith). Clark also had a monster game, McKie looked good and our run blocking was pretty solid as well.

Man, I now remember why I hate when the Bears play afternoon games, it means I'm stuck at home (cause I don't go to the bar for the whole day, but maybe I should) and get the shit Rams games and than a freaking Saints/Browns game (why, I have no idea).

Bears looking at WR Rod Gardner
Gardner wouldn't be bad, but I guess we'll know a little more about our WR core later today. Hopefully they can have a healthy game and season.

Peter King SI
I have no doubt that we took Carolina lightly. Our coaches and players both did so and they showed there ignorance by assuming that we (unlike any other team in the league) could somehow just single cover Smith. We went in talking a ton of smack and didn't back any of it up on the field. I seriously think our team expected to blow them out just because we kicked there butts in the regular season and well, they learned what could be a valuable lesson and thats that the level of play in the postseason is elevated and you got to bring everything and leave it all out on the field. I never would have expected our defense to be what let us down and in that game, thats exactly what happened. I hope that our young team learned from that and will come back this season with a chip on there shoulder and do what it takes to get into the playoffs and from there they'll be play better and better and harder and harder and make some serious noise in the playoffs.
