Great game -
Could the Bears win this on Special Teams?

Hester has some vision and he had two pretty damn good returns, one of which got us a TD!!!! -
Tremendous win. Our defense played well and Sexy Rexy looked fantastic, aside from that one horrible ball into the end zone (I can only hope he was trying to throw it long out of the end zone but because of the pressure wasn't able to get enough on the throw). Mush was absolutely the man, thats what we paid for, he made big catch after big catch and showed why prior to last season many thought he had the best hands in football (aside from Jimmy Smith). Clark also had a monster game, McKie looked good and our run blocking was pretty solid as well.

Man, I now remember why I hate when the Bears play afternoon games, it means I'm stuck at home (cause I don't go to the bar for the whole day, but maybe I should) and get the shit Rams games and than a freaking Saints/Browns game (why, I have no idea). -
Gardner wouldn't be bad, but I guess we'll know a little more about our WR core later today. Hopefully they can have a healthy game and season.
-
I have no doubt that we took Carolina lightly. Our coaches and players both did so and they showed there ignorance by assuming that we (unlike any other team in the league) could somehow just single cover Smith. We went in talking a ton of smack and didn't back any of it up on the field. I seriously think our team expected to blow them out just because we kicked there butts in the regular season and well, they learned what could be a valuable lesson and thats that the level of play in the postseason is elevated and you got to bring everything and leave it all out on the field. I never would have expected our defense to be what let us down and in that game, thats exactly what happened. I hope that our young team learned from that and will come back this season with a chip on there shoulder and do what it takes to get into the playoffs and from there they'll be play better and better and harder and harder and make some serious noise in the playoffs.

I'm just bummed that next week I'm gonna miss my first Bears game of a couple years (aside from last week's final regular season game, in which I took the weekend off) because I'm going to be on a plane heading somewhere for work. Than week 3 I got to find a bar in Dallas to watch the Bears game and probably will have to hear crap from a bunch of lousy Cowpoke fans. So I'm gonna make sure I enjoy this one and hopefully the Bears won't dissapoint. -
Its a shocker, I see a lot of experts picking us to lose or be the dissapointing team of the season and quite frankly I like it. I don't want the Bears getting cocky, afterall they got cocky when they played Carolina and we know what happened than.

I can't wait. Lets kick some ass Chicago. However, don't be mistaken, this will be a tough game. GB's fans will be pumped, Favre will be pumped and lets just remember when the Bears and Packers play you can throw the records out the window. -

Oh man I can't wait for this. Its gonna cap what has been a hella busy week and basically kick off what will be a new page in my life (start my career the next day). -
It has to be about Watts visiting Halas Hall.
-
He ran a sub 4.5 at the combine so I din't know how he'd be considered "slow".
-
Ya, we probably could slip Currie onto the practice squad. I don't think we'd be able to put Watts on the pratice squad cause I'd have to imagine someone will give him a roster spot.
-
If he's brought in, I wonder if he'll replace Gage or Currie.
-
He fell out of love in Denver and was cutt, but this guy was a 2004 2nd round draft pick who has had some success at the NFL level. Apparently he fell out of love in Denver because he dropped a wide open TD pass that cost them a game at some point last year. He's not perfect, but he ran a 4.49 40 and is considered a pretty good athlete and is 6-2. In his rookie season he had 385 yards and than last year he only had 2 receptions. Apparently it appears we are his first choice cause he thinks he'll have a good opportunity here and it seems like the Bears are pretty interested in his services as well. This is according to KFFL.
-
I think a lot of people underestimate Gage. While he isn't great, he has solid hands and is a very good blocker. I just don't think he's special, however, in the right situation I still think he could be a very good jump ball WR.
-
Wow, this guy sounds like quite the collegiate player and you got to like his hands. Obviously he's a bit slow, but if he runs good routes and can catch he should be alright, especially since he's on the practice squad.
-
I know its been reported a few times, but I thought I should once again bring it up. This article was written about a day ago and it also mentions Rogers who it appears we have no interest in. I know Justin is a pretty proven slot WR that would give us a lot more depth but I have my doubts as to how much better he makes us. That said he still is an upgrade and for the right price I'd definately take him. He's also a local kid.
-
Thats pretty sweet Random
-
I had even read a lot about how DT had really straightend up and started working hard and realized that he couldn't just sit around and expect things to get handed to him. He was finally saying the right things for the first time in his career (when he joined the Broncos) and he still wasn't able to stick on apparently.
-
I assume we kept Worrell for his special teams play. I know the coaching staff has said he has a very good attitude and is a pretty good special teams player and when it comes to the final few spots, usually your special teams play is the reason you made the cut.
-
Ya, everyone in Chicago says we will not go after him. Angelo says he has the same injury problems some of our other guys have and on top of that he'd have to come in and learn an entirely new system. It sounds like he's not a fit because JA wants to get someone proven not another unproven because he thinks he has enough unproven talents already on the roster (in Berrian/Bradley/Currie/Davis).
-
Ya, this is the right place. In time as the site grows we'll add an off topic section. I think the team looks pretty solid, although I do think you are very weak in the backfield. By the looks of it you are playing in a league with quite a few teams. I'd probably go with Gould over Nugent considering the fact that the Jets will suck. Last year I had Nugent to start the season and than I was a genius and dropped him for Rackers after the first week. That move paid off and took me all the way to league champion.
