  1. I think a big difference is in college these teams with byes have had multiple weeks off vs just a one week bye. Big difference between fresh and prepared and prepared but rusty.
  2. That is what they have done. Reality is DJ is under contract and Rome, Burden, and Loveland are here a while…even Kmet too. Now they can obviously trade any of them or make a cap play, but do this right and don’t hold onto guys too long and play smart with draft assets and find guys and keep on rolling. You won’t always hit but be smart, let drafts come to you, find the value when you are picking later, trade down and get some future capital again, and when you need to sell on a guy a year early trusting you can reload.
  3. A good oline is critical to being a good team. Fact that Caleb went from 68 sacks to 23 (with one game left) really is the most shocking stat of the season. Huge kudos from the line to coaches to front office and of course Caleb. But it is like night and day in terms of his development.
  4. Browns game is where it looked like he took another jump and it’s continued past two weeks. Hopefully we see that same trend and crazy part is I think he still has quite a bit of upside left which is what is most exciting. And he seems to really be putting in the extra work with Ben and his teammates. Almost feels like that lows of year 1 made him want everything even more and kind of pushed him to push himself like never before and combining that with a coach like BJ….match made!!!
  5. I’m good playing whoever - house money. But I get the fact that 2 seed gets you potential 2 home games and if the 1 seed gets upset you have 3 (if you can handle your business). My presumption is they sit Rome but otherwise are going to play their starters. Is Kyler eligible to come off practice squad? I was surprised JJ was off the field for almost whole 3rd quarter - he says he’s healthy. Is he in doghouse or something or are they really managing snap count?
  6. He did do a post game interview so that is a good sign. Those two drops probably were difference as we would have had a bit more time and a timeout still there. I don’t think they stop us inside the 10 there if we had a bit more time. They did play great D that final play.
  7. Evidently hamstring injury for Burden. They were going to do an MRI per Cronin. Hoping ends up being very minor and nothing serious.
  8. He played outstanding tonight. Missed a couple but overall was excellent. Seems to have really found another level and you can see there are still multiple levels of talent and potential to unlock.
  9. This team is for real on offense. Caleb is getting better and better and when they get Rome back and keep growing this team is lethal. Loveland and Luther are studs - even with those drops at the end. I really hope Luther is ok on that last play.
  10. If bears win out and seahawk lose next week to niners then bears have 1 seed. Problem is I think if niners lose they probably sit their starters next week vs Seahawks
  11. Darnell Wright - Questionable & not traveling with team due to illness. Nick McCloud - Didn’t practice all week. OUT Sunday with illness. Josh Blackwell - Didn’t practice all week. Questionable Sunday due to illness. Nahshon Wright - Didn’t practice Friday & Questionable Sunday due to illness. Devin Duvernay & D’Marco Jackson - Expected to give it a go Sunday despite illness.
  12. I think like 5-6 missed practice from illness and they already had one of the DBs out due to illness (don’t recall if it was McCloud or someone else). My guess is those are just some of them. Maybe better it happens now than during the playoffs…build that immunity now
  13. Home playoff game and winners of the North…don’t stop now Bears!!!
  14. Darnold 1 year deal was very different than Cousins 4 year merge deal. Darnold was signed as a bridge and JJ got hurt and Sam played his butt off…no one expected that, but Sam struggled late which made the whole thing really difficult. JJ is getting written off too fast. Injuries are the question with him and he was healthy in college. But he has made a lot of progress last few weeks.
  15. I’m not looking forward to this game - bears have struggled in San Fran over the years and this is a real good Niners team. That said - let’s go Bears!!!
  16. I think the question is, if DJ doesn't catch that ball, do we see a late flag thrown. Feels like sometimes that happens in NFL now (akin to NBA calling a late whistle to see if a shooter made the bucket or not). Not saying right approach. Happened in Lions game yesterday where Steelers though they won the game about a minute earlier but than after the incomplete pass you had a bunch of late flags fly for PI (this was on a 4th down earlier in that same sequence).
  17. Let’s hope it’s the first of a shitton of playoffs for these players!!!
  18. Crazy ending in Steelers game…wow…playoffs…let’s go!!! Don’t stop now Bears!!!
  19. Stroud got worse year 1 to year 2. Daniel’s did the same. Caleb is better year 1 to year 2 under pretty much every stat. TDS, yards per game, sack rate, comebacks, yards per attempt, qbr. Only spot somewhat flat is completion percentage but even than he’s throwing ball down field a ton. His interception rate remains elite as well - which quite frankly it was in year 1 as well. Oh and year 1 in new system and first time in his career working behind center with new footwork. I think year 3 will be even better and more growth than we saw from year 1 to 2.
  20. Is that his best QBR in any game or did he top that in Browns game? I don’t know that I would have said it was his best or even top 2 game but he did have some pretty good balls given the conditions. Missed a few hot routes and there were 2 drops - one on a pretty deep pass. Also had the first down to Loveland take off the board on the Moore questionable penalty.
