  1. I think the question is, if DJ doesn't catch that ball, do we see a late flag thrown. Feels like sometimes that happens in NFL now (akin to NBA calling a late whistle to see if a shooter made the bucket or not). Not saying right approach. Happened in Lions game yesterday where Steelers though they won the game about a minute earlier but than after the incomplete pass you had a bunch of late flags fly for PI (this was on a 4th down earlier in that same sequence).
  2. Let’s hope it’s the first of a shitton of playoffs for these players!!!
  3. Crazy ending in Steelers game…wow…playoffs…let’s go!!! Don’t stop now Bears!!!
  4. Stroud got worse year 1 to year 2. Daniel’s did the same. Caleb is better year 1 to year 2 under pretty much every stat. TDS, yards per game, sack rate, comebacks, yards per attempt, qbr. Only spot somewhat flat is completion percentage but even than he’s throwing ball down field a ton. His interception rate remains elite as well - which quite frankly it was in year 1 as well. Oh and year 1 in new system and first time in his career working behind center with new footwork. I think year 3 will be even better and more growth than we saw from year 1 to 2.
  5. Is that his best QBR in any game or did he top that in Browns game? I don’t know that I would have said it was his best or even top 2 game but he did have some pretty good balls given the conditions. Missed a few hot routes and there were 2 drops - one on a pretty deep pass. Also had the first down to Loveland take off the board on the Moore questionable penalty.
  6. Lafleur called a real good game and made some nice adjustments the whole way. Packers DC did a nice job as well - bears weren’t ready for them to dial up the blitzes as much but finally adjusted late. But there were a few clear blitzes and hot route wasn’t executed right (not sure if it was qb or wide out or what)
  7. Out of his hand I thought he literally was throwing it away and I was like oh crap and than camera angle pans down and it’s oh hell yeah…than it goes to replay and I’m like don’t show a bobble or a foot not getting down (live I thought it was a TD but I’d been wrong before)
  8. It was a bad call on Moore…he was fine and it had no bearing on the play etc. I thought refs were pretty one sided yesterday (in fairness I thought Bears maybe had a slight benefit on calls in the first meeting). But there was a play or two where they should have been a pass interference on Packers (one was where Kmet got mugged early) and I thought the first roughing passer was borderline and still thought the Brisker one was somewhat borderline (but can’t argue it). The 2nd one Booker got gets called everytime…sucked the timing of the head going down. I also thought Packers got away with a couple holding calls on Jarrett.
  9. Yeah I wanted OT. Home game you play for OT, especially with them looking like they had momentum. And I honestly don’t know that the D could have stopped the Packers ground game…they were getting cooked.
  10. I go back to he’s got a ton of warts but is already above average and those warts are absolutely fixable with work and good coaching and I think we have the coaching and he seems to have the work ethic! This is hard as we can get caught up in the quick flash and sizzle but he is just consistently getting better and I think year 3 will be another big step forward. I also think when they get Burden and Rome back we will see a Caleb who is even more ready to work his progressions etc. Jahdae might have a nice future in the slot too here.
  11. This highlight doesn’t get old…my whole family had given up in 2nd half and I kept telling them this team is different they’ll find a way…but even I didn’t see it quite going like this…from so frustrating to so damn fun…so nice to be on the flip side of this!!!
  12. The defense was getting cooked…gave up a ton of long drives as they really weren’t ready to get into a physical slug fest and when Love went out that is what happened. And our dline just isn’t good.
  13. Jahdae Walker might be a solid find a year from now. Small school to big school and he seems to have some tools.
  14. I thought there was no chance he would hit the 51 yarder. Even the one before with that cross wind…wow.
  15. It is interesting - a lot of best qbs bunched in that range. Goff there too and Mahomes and Stafford not far away.
  16. Yeah I thought it was insane when we tried the 51 yarder and he freaking drilled it. He has been pretty good on kicks too. Special teams in general has been much improved past few weeks.
  17. Yes - Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen struggled a bit. Packers adjusted well on both sides of the ball. I think Ben will learn from this though. Id love for Lions to lose tomorrow. Nuts how hard it is to make playoffs in NFC this year.
  18. Bears would have won in regulation without this call (or so I think). That was a bad call.
  19. This is true - he did it against Packers first game too. But he has gotten much better all year and I think another offseason and year 2 and we see him take another step.
  20. Wow wow wow what a finish. Bears got outplayed, were too cute and Ben got out coached (rare and he will learn from it)…but they found a way. Incredible!!! Was such a weird game in those conditions. Caleb was spectacular end of the game and in OT. That ball was a dime to Moore. And the 4th down throw to Walker too.
  21. I don’t think I even know how to understand this. Nor do I think it would be easy for whoever is calculating it to come up with it. Concept is good.
  22. He was very accurate today in tough conditions against an elite defense. If not for a few drops he has an even better game. Also had some nice connections to DJ (albeit I don’t want him making that one throw that worked out very often - but what a dot and catch). Luther, Kmet each had a drop on very accurate balls and than Monagai had 2 on screen plays - one of which looked like it would have been a massive play. One thing Caleb was doing a bit too much of was dropping too far out of the pocket due to pressure. Bad habit that I hadn’t seen a lot of but it could have been with lead he was trying not to make a mistake. Overall thought he played solid. Defense was stout - pass rush still not good enough.
  23. Hate those injuries - I want to beat them with everyone there. Want bears to learn what it takes to beat the best. Hoping we get good news on Odunze and we see Bears play their best game yet next Saturday night!!! Let’s go bears!!!
