  1. Peterman is being looked at as a late 2nd rounder in some drafts. I don't think you would have to trade up into the 2nd but just to be sure I would. But yeah Mongos last post is exactly what I believe Greg Gabriel said on the radio. Its a 1 million dollar insurance policy if the draft doesn't fall the way they want it to.
  2. This move comes right after Kizers pro day, and days after Watson and Trubiskis. Coincidence? I don't think so. I would be shocked if one of those 3 are Bears next year. I doubt Mahomes is the pick either simply due to the Cutler comps. I think we trade up from the 3rd into the late 2nd just to make sure we get Peterman. Starting to like Kaaya a bit more too.
  3. It's possible they simply don't like ANY of the QBs in the draft. If that's the case I have no problem going Glennon/Sanchez/Shaw. Ya don't just draft one to draft one.

    Reuben Foster

Even using the BPA logic I don't think Foster is that guy unless they trade down. With Freeman, Trev, and Kwikowski, I would be dissapointed with the pick.

It's a 4-3 under which is essentially a 3-4 There are 3 down linemen but one of the OLBs are on the line of scrimmage thus making it a "4-3"

Yeah, def gonna have to disagree with Garbriel here. Justin Smith came into the league in the 260s and turned into a monster because hes strong like bull. Thomas may have put on weight but it sure didn't slow him down any judging by his performance at the combine. He should be fine playing in the 280s.
  7. Not the NT named John I wanted. Jenkins is merely depth. Though 51 tackles out of a NT is solid(2015)
  8. 1. Like who? 2. I don't care if he "Strikes fear in the opponent " if he has 1000 yards, its a successful season. There were 25 players who got 1000 yards last year.....also the guys on the score aren't "Experts." 3. Maybe not. Personally I hope he doesn't get a shot just because I think Cam, White, and Wheaton are all better players who I hope all stay healthy so we don't really see Wright that much. On a team that will primarily run the ball, I don't see many 4 WR sets. I'm certainly not saying this is the greatest show on turf or anything, I'm just saying they have the potential to be a solid group.
  9. Missed the Poe news......Also its Hankins. Stupid autocorrect. It would be interesting if that does happen, because then that ends all talk of Allen/Thomas in the draft....unless they wanna play Thomas at OLB I suppose.
  10. Actually, Butler would cost a 1st rounder and a huge contract. He's a restricted free agent. Separate note. Our old pal Aaron Lemming said the Bears are still monitoring the NT market, presumably meaning Poe and Hawkins. I would have zero problem moving Goldman to the 5T and sticking one of those guys in the middle.

    Trading down

I think maybeee if you take out 1 of their 2nds and add a 3rd and a 4th or whatever they might entertain the idea. Unless they are wild about 1 of the QBs, which they are all still very meh to me, I would rather have 3 top 52 picks if I was Cleveland.
  12. So you're saying you can be a star just because of the talent around you? I mean, you still have to run routes against an NFL cornerback. Who are these experts? I haven't heard anyone talk about my boy Cam. Just wait and see, I predict 1000 yards for Mr. Meredith. I'm not THAT high on Wright, but there has got to be some talent there to put up 1000 yards even once.

Thomas def has the strength to play 5T. He's also a guy you can get a little fancy with and line him up in different spots to throw the offense off a bit. You can line him up in the 5, 4-3 DE, 3-4 OLB, 4-3 3T, and I'm sure you can even line him up as a 3-4 ILB and have him rush from the inside.
  14. That's a glass half empty way to look at it. It's no doubt a boom or bust group. You outlined the bust scenario. Kevin White will be healthy to start the year I believe. I know he's been hurt his first 2 years, but that doesn't mean its a foregone conclusion he will get hurt again. Alshon to Meredith is a downgrade, but I still don't get why he doesn't get more love here or anywhere really. Outside of injury I see no reason why he can't be a very solid #2 and maybe even a fringe #1 if he continues to develop. Wheaton was a hot pick to be last years breakout star, he just so happened to get injured. I see no reason why he can't still be that guy to breakout. Wright had success with Loggains. I'm not as high on him as the others, but maybe Dowel just knows how to use him. Again, boom or bust.
  15. Pace also preaches BPA. I just don't see any of the 3 QBs being considered best pick available in the 1st. 2nd round I can certainly see it, but I have a feeling we see either Peterman or Webb drafted in the 3rd by our Bears.
  16. I don't think drafting a QB 3rd would be a mistake, but I get the feeling that Pace isn't a fan of taking any of them at 3. If he was i don't think he would of signed Glennon so quickly. Only reason I would rule out a corner is because I'm not sure Lattimore is worth it. Allen, Thomas, Adams, or Hooker.

I mean a good NFL QB. If you were just asking when the last time a Stanford defensive lineman was drafted, there seems to be one every year.
  18. I'm on board for Engram, but I really have no desire to draft a WR in the first 4 rounds. I wanna see what the World Wide Web can do. That's right, I just named White, Wheaton, and Wright the World Wide Web.
  19. I like Butler, but not enough to give up what is sure to be at least a 2nd round pick. Not much left out there. Might be time to just wait out some cuts and hope we fall into another Josh Sitton. I wouldn't mind throwing Ryan Clady a 1 year deal. He hasn't been healthy, but he is still just 30 and if he stays healthy I'm sure he is better than Leno.
  20. Yeah, I'm not sure how you can knock Meredith, Wheaton, and Wright while also want Patterson. As receivers, ill take all 3 of our guys over him. I think some people get too wrapped up in names. Patterson is a household name while Meredith is an UDFA. That means diddly to me. Meredith went out there in his 2nd season as a WR after being a college QB and dropped 888 yards. There is really no reason why he can't continue to develop as a WR, and I wouldn't be shocked one bit if he has over 1000 yards next year.
  21. Gotta be given the chance. They may not be any good, but I think you gotta give them a chance. By that I mean not drafting one high.

How many were as highly thought of as Thomas? I mean you can say that about a lot of guys. Verdict is still out on A'Shawn Robinson and Jarron Reed, but outside of Marcel Darius 6 years ago Bama hasn't produced a good lineman either. When's the last time Clemson, Notre Dame, or North Carolina developed an NFL QB?

I'm just going by what I read. I'm sure teams can run the ball the other direction as well so those games really don't tell me anything.
  24. It certainly has the upside to be a strength if White is what we hope he is and plays 16 games. I think Meredith is getting underrated by most here.
  25. Unless they are in love with a guy like Webb or Peterman, I would say yes. I would throw Mahomes in that discussion as well in the 2R.
