End of an era in Green Bay - but right time.  Wonder what Packers ultimately got in terms of draft pick compensation.  

Sounds like there’s conflicting information and nothing official. But given what Packers President said that bringing him back is not a top priority and the jets coaches flying out to California to meet with him and then clearing cap space feels like it’s inevitable. 
 

Maybe after a couple years or so he’ll take over for Kirk Cousins in Minny where a Bears DT will put an end to his career.  It’d be like deja vu all over again.

He's a wacko but like that he knows he owes nothing to media.

He’s making demands that the Jets sign players off his wish list (players he had in Green Bay). So with the Packers he whined that they didn’t surround him with weapons but in NY he wants them to surround him with the same players the Packers put around him.

They have a lot of talent there, they may do well.

Saw that with his WRs.  Michael Robinson on NFL Network ripped into him saying it was the fastest way to burn bridges with his new teammates.  

The Jets are shooting themselves in the foot. They were not a QB away from a Super Bowl at 7-10 in arguably one of the toughest divisions with Buffalo, Miami, and New England. In 2023, they have to play KC, LAC, PHI, DAL and NYG while also playing improved teams in DEN and LVR. That is 13 tough games. Then they have WAS 8-8-1, CLE 7-10, ATL, and HOU. 

I know Zach Wilson was bad, but I don't know how much better Rodgers is going to be on a new team.

In order to get Rodgers, the Jets are going to have to give up some draft capital which is going to hurt them when they need players after Rodgers ultimately retires to his dark space after this season. 

 

GB is screwed this year, they are going to eat $40M in dead cap with very little cap to resign players or sign anyone of value. So they are going to be at best the same team as last year, which is their ceiling. Then in 2024, that is Love's 5th year option year, so if they don't have the roster built properly, they are basically hosed in 2025 when they have to shed $40M+ to keep Love (if he is the guy). If Love is not the guy, the Packers can start the QB carousel like the rest of the league has over the last 30 years.

And for the Jets that's just the draft capitol they'll have give up to get Rodgers, that's not including the cap space he'll eat up, plus his wish list of players to go and get.  

And then Rodgers wants to play the victim by claiming he's not the one holding up the trade, throwing the Packers organization under the bus, (biting the hand that feeds him).  Just goes back to everything is everyone else's fault, he takes no blame or responsibility for anything except when it's something good.  His other comments about how he's the greatest player in Packer's history, and on and on. I for sure would put Bart Star ahead of him on the all time great Packers list. He for sure is the LeBron James of the NFL.  If he's not careful he'll dislocate his surgically repaired shoulder patting himself on the back.  Great players don't have to call themselves great they just play the game and let others say what they will.   No wonder his family and him don't associate with each other.  He alienates everyone around him that doesn't bow down to him, scratch his back, or bend over backwards for him.
