This is the worst loss I've ever been through as a Bears fan. This is much worse than the Commanders game.

Yeah, this is worse. That was one play, this was a mix of Special Teams, Defense, and Officials.

Maybe now we can put to rest the Loveland pick.

Nah. If you have a wallet full of money in your left pocket, and then fill a new wallet with cash & put it in your right pocket, it doesn’t prove that the new wallet was a good purchase. It just proves you have two good wallets…and based on the score, holes in your socks.

Wow, who pissed in your cereal? They won, three rookies played great and, oh yeah, we won. Take it.

I love the win and the drama, but just because Loveland had a great play/game doesn’t mean it was a good pick. My comment was a reply to the concept that the selection is somehow proven as the right move. I still think it wasn’t, since the defense has massive holes and Kmet has been woefully underused.

Making sure you develop the QB is goal number one.  As much as the defense needs infusion up front, the Bears are actually doing the right thing for once.  I wouldn't be shocked to see them draft LT/RB early even with Monongai showing he can be a force.

Have to give credit to Caleb Williams for sticking with it all the way to the end. He's still frustrating the hell out of me sometimes with his inability to check the ball out quick when nothing's there, but I'll never question his clutch gene.

Loveland and Monangai breaking out is a massive deal, but also Rome Odunze might be not great at football. Moving forward, I hope Ben Johnson starts scheming up more plays for DJ Moore again, as well as Burden/Loveland.

My last takeaway from this game is the Bears don't need to trade for a RB now. Monangai is the real deal. Him and Swift can actually be a lethal combination when they're both out there.

And allow B Brown to replace RJ.

I could see Johnson scheming these two as he did with Gibbs and Monty in Detroit.  Monangai is more a Montgomery style runner where Gibbs and Swift have similar skill sets.

Caleb finished 20/34 (58.8%) 280 yards, 3 TDs, 114.8 Rating

He ran around a lot, mostly because he was hurried a lot by the pocket breaking down. Also the Bengals were in man to man defense almost exclusively, which you coulkd see by how easily Caleb was able to run for 10+ yards.

Looked to me like Johnson has told Caleb to take the run for the first down when the middle opens up from man to man defense, as he was making the choice to tuck and run quicker in those situations.

Caleb also had some accuracy issues, and WRs had drops, and were getting open as much as they should (the ll 22 will tell the story, so maybe Im wrong, Im never sure until I see what was going on downfield.

But Caleb also had a game winning drive. The great ones find ways to win.

I give Caleb a B overall for this game.

Also Monangai was GREAT - looking forward to seeing him do it against real defenses next - no reason to think he wont.

Today:

Loveland 6 receptions for 118 yards and 2 TDs.

Tyler Warren 5 receptions for 26 yards. Warren the last 2 games, 10-79, 0 TD.

I definitely think Loveland is the better prospect, had him rated above Warren in my pre draft stuff, BUT I still think TE at pick #10 is a weird move. But weve got him, and I think he will be great.
