Cheap salary and draft pick cost.  Hopefully you guys know more about Garrett Bradbury than me.  LOL

I havent seen any film on him yet, so Ill hold back on offering an opinion, but i do trust BJ and Rousher to make a good choice, and he will be an easy player to get under the cap with a number under $7M.

Obviously Linderbaum was the cream of the crop, but he was going to be very expensive, and so I totally get this move.

Im personally surprised they didnt go with Connor Whateverhisnameis but i havent done any film study on them, and this was kinda under the radar, for me at least.

Cool, one more hole filled.

He is ranked 30th on PFF. Gave up no sacks, no penalties and 20 pressures. Good friends with Joe Thuney.

No sure how you rate centers on PFF but 0 and 0 are impressive.

Poles always surprises us. Either they're drafting a center or expect Newman to take over in 2 yrs. 

AND 5.7 mil cost.

Yuck. I sure hope this isn't their starter. Clear downgrade from Dalman.

I was curious about this when I first heard about the trade and yup sure enough.  They were college buds when they played together at NC State in 2015. Bradbury was originally selected by Minnesota in the first round of the 2019 draft.   

I don't really get why they are giving up a 5th round pick here? He's a former first round pick (I believe), but other than that I don't know much about him.  How are you rated 30th on PFF but give up 0 and 0.  If he actually is a top 12 center than I stand correct and am fine with it, but in general, these doesn't seem like the type of player we should be giving up a 5th round pick for.  

You gotta figure between BJ and Roushar that they know what theyre doing.

Also, PFF is random, and i put no faith in anything they say positive or negative. Theyre the ones that said Charles Leno was a top ten LT LOL And I dont mean they predicted that during the draft, I mean they RATED him that during those seasons where he was absolute trash for us. PFF means nothing.

Right, heard that in the score. He is not glamorous, but im sure he can play center for the Bears until the can draft and develop.

We all want these star players, but I want them to be our home grown.

There are also different offensive systems, and a player might shine in one, and be a detriment in another?

I've never seen tape on him (yet! lol) so i have nothing substantive to add about the player, but I do trust Roushar and Johnson to know what they're looking at?

9th in snaps at Center, but 0 sacks and 0 penalties, and we are using PFF grades over that? Also considering how often Maye was sacked, Bradbury allowing zero is even more impressive. 

He is also half the price of at least Tyler Biadasz for a 2027 5th which is equivalent to a current year 6th.

I think one thing we are overlooking is how smart he is. His successful qbs were Maye and Cousins. They wanted someone that can help Caleb run the offense. They targeted him and he is cheap. Money always matters.

I also missed that it was a pick next year. Feels we can't look at this in a vaccuum and got to see how the broader off-season plays out. Might just help them know they have one part situated (or at least an option) that then enables them to be more comfortable with some other moves.  Even if that is - this allows them to basically assess Newman as the center while knowing they have a potential fall back plan.  Knowing that may mean they go aggressive at an LT or Hendrickson or something else.

Very fair - I do think this offensive coaching staff gets a bit of the benefit after last season. Heck - out of the gate people didn't like the Jonah move - but it looked good in hindsight (or at least after the 1st year).  Maybe this is a better scheme fit plus helps allow Poles to attack some other fronts.

Correct, Johan Jackson didn't look good from his previous year but he turned into a healthy baller. They will not on everything but they are targeting players and we get to see how that turns out.

I don't know how good Bradbury is but like PHX said, screw PFF, no sacks no penalties and 20 pressures seems like great numbers to me.

I like this.  Bradberry is very athletic, with a very high football IQ.  NE moving him tells me they want Linderbaum, who is younger and elite.  They definitely have the cap space that we do not.  Good move for both teams.

If he can understand the multiple schemes that Ben likes to use, even better.  He has seen the NFC North, hes a vet thst can make the line calls which frees up Caleb from doing so, and doesnt make many mistakes. The Bears plugged a major surprise hole with a player they can play and doesnt hurt other plans on rebuilding the D.

Spot on but they do have Jared Wilson they drafted last year that played guard. He could be the new center.

I Iike it because all these bear journalists pushing for lindenbaum got a slap in the face on a Cap cost move that fits in. Great move on Poles part. I'll take 0 sacks and 0 penalties every day of the week. Also has taken every snap the last two years. Very durable.

Another thing to consider about Bradbury is he’s already got a hatred built in for GB (having been with Minny for a while) and he’s got a few receptions and RAC yards.

He’s pretty good in pass protection and not so good in run blocking.  Maybe last year he was dinged up a bit but it appears throughout his career that’s been his MO.   Dalman was the opposite although he had a higher floor in pass pro than it appears Bradbury has as a run blocker.   Bradbury now has two good run blockers next to him to help him out and I expect we’ll be drafting our future Center.  

I like this move a lot…if we follow it up with drafting a talented future starter.     

Something to also keep in mind.  If Linderbaum signs with the Patriots, some tampering rules should be looked at.

There has been suggested this is a good draft for centers. Have no idea if that's true or not but I think if they end up with the comp pick that would be a good spot to draft the center. Would be pick 100 and only 2 rated before that in the draft.

I would not count on him to be the future starter at center.  Have him prepared to go in if needed,yes.  The Bears should consider drafting a center rd 3 or after. 

If the Bears can somehow get Decker at LT, Decker+Bradbury is better than Trapilo or Benedet or Jones + Dalman, so the line would be better in 2026 even if slightly worse at Center.
