It might have been pricey, but freak yes. Single handedly this is the greatest move in franchise history in terms of excitement. I've never been so pumped up about a move in my life as a Bears fan (albeit I'm only 25). But wow, a franchise QB, sure he has some things to prove but he threw for 4500+ yards and made a pro bowl and is not even in his prime yet. And if Lovie shits the bed this year, hello Shanny, hello Shanny.

On top of it Pace signs and now I have to think the Bears become players for Holt to go with whomever they draft. Unbelievable. Someone link me, I want to buy his jersey right now. Oh my god. WOW. Upon finding out about the move, I called all my friends who talked shit on the Bears QBs and told them to freak off cause Cutler is the shit and than went on to run up and down my street yelling woo wooo wooo. And no, I'm not a Cubs fan so it takes a lot for me to go woo wooo wooo.

Great day to be a Bears fan.

Kudos to Angelo and staff for getting this done.

Thanks to Kyle for his professionalism. Best of luck Kyle!!!

Peace :dabears

So you guys are loving talking him up and getting excited. Tell me about it and be more specific. I don't know enough about him and his stats are only slightly better than Orton. I want to be excited too.

This guy can throw an accurate deep ball, he is mobile, 25 years old, gets cocky - especially when playing against Rivers, completes more of his passes after the 10 yd range.

Orton was nice, but he would never get to greatness, more mediocre. His passes were more dump offs between 5-10 yds. This kept the box crowed, thus Fortes ypc average low. Cutler will open up this box, like he did with the crappy Denver RB's who average 4.8 ypc.

Its a once in a lifetime type of deal, QB's who are on the verge to become great very rarely come along and then you have to bid against 20 other teams. So getting Cutler is kinda of like winning the lottery, IMO

ESPNews reports the Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent OT Orlando Pace (Rams). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

OMG! I can't take any more joy!!! I bet Turner feels like a porn star right now.

As a Bear fan since 1966 I have to say this is the biggest trade since I have been following the team.We have always traded for the Mike Phipps of the world or signed the Kordell Stewarts of the league and today they actually pulled the trigger and I couldn't begin to say what I feel because Iam numb.

Cool. Also, check this out.

At least one source suggests why his underwhelming stats are misleading and actually should have been 22% better to accurately portray Cutler's effect on the offense. I got it from a yahoo article...though that same article's author said that the step down to the Bears' offense could mean his numbers decline and I'm thinking "Don't give me that. If his numbers decline much he'll have Orton-like numbers." I expect this 25 year old to just keep getting better...after he's had time to learn the offense of course, so we have to remember to be patient the first half of the season. Also, Cutler will benefit from basically all the same faces on offense that Orton had to deal with except with improved offensive tackles. I'm ready to hear his first Bears press conference.

wow great news...we finally have the QB that can do it all, make all the throws, an actual franchise guy. He will also be playing with a chip on his shoulder as he trys to give the big FU to Denver...he will have monster stats.

So, what do we have to bitch about now? I think we are out of excuses now. It is time to restore some life back into Bears football. What a great day (and we signed Pace)

For the first time in a long time defenses must respect the entire field. Rex could throw the deep ball but not the dumpoff, nor could he move around. Cutler can make every throw, has a quick release, and can buy time and throw on the run. We'll have to be patient because he has to learn a new offense but he has a couple friends in Williams and Bennett (he went back to Vandy to throw to Bennett on his pro day) to help him out. What we are going to see for the first time is a QB scramble out of the pocket and hit a WR deep down the field. This is a league where the games are often won by 3 pts and that one play in a game gets a TD, a FG, or changes field position. The threat of that one play keeps safeties a bit deeper at the snap and opens up the running lanes for another yard or two.

IMO Cutler has a better Oline right now than Orton had last year. At least one that's better in pass protection. Add Holt and our WR are better than last year. Get a decent FS in the draft and our D will be at least equal to last year if not better. No reason we can't win now.

Wow what a day!!! Cutler and Pace. I thought I would never see this. But glad I was around to see it. Iam looking forward to seeing how much Williams picks up from Pace. The line upgrade is huge.

This day was pretty unbelievable and I still can't believe. I think I might want to buy a lottery ticket. lol.
