Where does the NFL get this timeline? Last year between 3 and 5 pm is was announced the Bears signed Eddie Royal and Pernell. What I expect at 3:00 tomorrow: 1. We trade Martellus Bennett. It's probably a done deal but at 3:00 we can make it official. Jimmy Graham would be awesome. But probably a 6th rounder . . . 2. Danny Trevathan becomes official--we have the money and the scheme he wants. 3. Akiem Hicks--I think it's happening 4. Mid level players we haven't considered Between the Bears and Illinois playing at 4:30, I'm going to have a busy afternoon.

I have Vick and Desean and Bears D. Bears have always owned Vick, in contrast Desean Jackson always kills Bears. I also have Miami DST against Oakland I have Mark Sanchez who is begging me to start him. Any advice

The defense has played poorly but the oline has been brutal. Jay was crushed again this week and the good news is, he still is largely playing smart football, however, this was the 2nd street week Long had a brutal block that led to a quick sack and fumble. On top of the 5 sacks this week (and similar to past weeks) the penalties by our oline absolutely killed momentum and big plays. This is a totally different football game if we aren't consistently negating big plays with penalties (not to mention killing momentum). I'd argue the defense is bad (and it is...scheme could only cover up so much for the lack of talent) but man the oline is playing horrendous football (…

Looking around the league, there are some bad teams out there, and the Bears are not the only ones underachieving. Did anyone see the Giants last night? The Bears are 0-4, should be at least 1-3, but probably projected to be 2-2 at this point. Obviously we have watched this team lose in every conceivable way. Bengals are 1-3 and just lost to the Titans 24-3. Burrow looks like a shell of his former self. Chase has 0 TDs. Just very odd considering they still have Chase, Higgins, Boyd, and Mixon as their top skill players. Patriots are 1-3 and their only win was a 15-10 barn burner against a Wilson-led Jets team. I tried to include most of the top picks, even though most would be out of reach for the Bears with their current position. Which player would be the biggest upgrade over the current player? McFadden over Benson? Ryan over Grossman? Dorsey over DT2 rotation? Long/Clady over Miller? Sweed over Berrian? 10 choices was the max, so there may be other players that are not listed.

After this weekend's outcomes, it looks like a few additional teams made it into the Disappointment zone. Outside of everything Bears related, who/what was the biggest disappointment this season?

It is quite boring right now with all the expectations coming and the moves we have made, I just want to jump to August. But until then, who is the biggest suprize of 2009? Not a Cutler, or Briggs making the Pro Bowl again, but someone we dont expect to be one of the stars? Mine is Earl Bennett, nothing to lead me to believe why he would be, but we have a QB and there old friends and someone will emerge as a star, I am calling Earl the one.

We've had discussions about our biggest surprise on offense, now let's get defensive...My biggest surprise will be Mario Edward's Jr. I think his name has sort of gotten forgoten here the past few years with the likes of Hicks, Goldman, and Nichols also being really good. I think right now he's the starting 3 technique and has a really good year. I totally forgot that dude ran a 4.84 40, so the explosion is there to be a upfield 3T.

I feel like if there is going to be a surprise on offense, it is probably going to be one of the new WRs. However, after hearing about Getsy's offense, and the commitment to the run game and play-action, I think Khalil Herbert may be a breakout candidate as well. It seems like the schene fits him much better than Monty. Additionally, I could see Monty as a potential trade candidate at the deadline as they won't get any comp picks if they bring on several FAs next offseason. Thoughts?

We are just past the halfway point in the season and based on preseason projections, these are the 5 biggest surprising teams and 5 biggest disappointments so far: Surprises: 1. MIN 7-2 2. PIT 7-2 3. ARZ 6-4 4. LAC 6-3 5. WSH 7-4 Disappointments: 1. MIA 3-6 2. DAL 3-6 3. CHI 4-5 4. CIN 4-6 5. NYJ 3-7 At this point, you can almost swap one team per Division (MIN > CHI, PIT > CIN, WSH > DAL) on the projections. You would expect all the HCs on the disappointing teams are on the hot seat and some may still be fired before the end of the season if those teams keep losing.

As per Brad Biggs, "The Chicago Bears had a scenario they hoped would pan out unfold Thursday night as Wisconsin's Gabe Carimi fell all the way to them at No. 29, making a would-be trade to get ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs to No. 26 unnecessary." Ok, he doesn't actually come out and say it, but he implies we were wanting to move up for Carimi. Particularly since most mocks had Carimi going to Kansas City at #21.

Bears move fan convention to Soldier Field, push back to June The Bears are moving the site of their annual fan convention to Soldier Field. The event, which was a sellout last spring for the first time, had been held at the Hilton and Towers since its inception. Now, the franchise will have more time to put a disappointing season behind before the rah-rah for the 2008 campaign begins. The team said there will be more room for events at the stadium.
