Ted was on the SCORE this morning with Mully & Hanley. The interview will be available on their website soon. Highlights (paraphrasing Ted): - The fact that a player like DA comes in at the end of the year and plays very well makes you question what is going on. - Believes Lovie and Jerry give the best chance to turn around the team quickly. - Playoffs are the standard for next year. - Hanley asked if Lovie and Jerry were out of contract, would he have extended them. Ted did not really want to answer. Said he didn't want to answer hypotheticals but that money was not the issue. Overall, good interview. Peace

Both have done exceptional jobs with young QBs. I also recall Clements being highly regarded. He could be a great option as well.

Option 3 for keepers. Keep anyone player and lose draft pick of round that player was drafted in by YOU. No trades. Round 6 cutoff. If you dont want to keep anyone you get a supplementary pick before anyone with a keeper and if there are more than one without than they get ordered by final standings. Option 4. Same as 3 but if you choose you can keep 2.

As you know, I try to remain an optimist when it comes to the Bears. Here are a few thoughts that may help you remain one too. So, have at it, I'm not happy with what I've seen from these guys for the last few years either, but here are the things that keep me hopeful for next season... We needed a new OC. I don't think anyone here was in love with Turner. Now we'll get one. And hopefully whoever it is will be able to make the best of our new QB. Cutler seems to be involved in this process. This can be a good thing or a bad thing. You don't want the inmates running the asylum but he did seem to be right, all along, about DA. What the heck, let him pick a…

Makes no sense. We read the Tribune reports and they all say Carrol would be perfectly fine if Bates left, yet he's now trying to have him come to Seattle. WTF.

another ex Ram Coach Lovie seems to only want people he has either worked with in Tampa or with the Rams.

Of course there have been no links to the team, but I'm thinking what about Dan Reeves. This is the kind of guy I would like to see get hired for the offense. IMO, who ever gets hired as the OC is the coach of the offense. This guy has been there and done that. Last year he interviewed for the San Fran OC, so apparently he wants back in the business if he was willing to interview for that position. I think a true coach like him would be amazing for the young talent on offense.

With the season now officially over (as opposed to when it was essentially over two months ago), what does this team actually need to do in the offseason? It's easy to look at this team and see nothing but holes, but without their first two picks (which hurts both for draft and for trade purposes), it's hard to see how they can fix, or even patch, everything. So, let's look at this team: QB: It'll be Cutler and Hanie, but am I the only one who would kind of like to see a veteran QB on this team? At the very least, I feel like it would be nice to have someone like that on the sideline Cutler can talk to after a bad play who has actually played QB in the NFL. It's not…

As bad as our season was, the scary part is we're likely do have damn near all significant players returning. The only significant contributor likely gone is Wale. He might resign, but considering we traded for Adams and we're saying all the right things about Melton . . . As far as I can tell, that's it for significant players. Pace is gone, but he quit being significant. Vasher's proven to be a mediocre corner. Is it worth eating his salary now? Pisa might go . . . or not. Isn't Adriant Peterson a free agent? It's amazing that we'll have the whole squad back with most of our starters returning.

Just saw that, while maybe not official, Carroll may have just hired Alex Gibbs to run the OL in Wash. That disgusts me. I have wanted to add him for years, and he would have been a tremendous addition. He was a FA, so to speak, and it just sucks that we could not get one of the best OL coaches in the game.
