The Bears have a chance to win the Division, while knocking GB out of playoff contention, in front of their home crowd, it doesn't get much better than this. It should be one of those "passing the torch" type of games with a win. We need to stay ahead of Dallas and depending on if LAR or NO tank, we have an outside shot at a bye. GB is 2-5 since their bye and has fired McCarthy. They are 1-0 without him beating a hapless Falcons team 34-20. They do have an easy schedule after us (NYJ and DET), so there is still a sliver of hope if they somehow beat us and win out, which would put them at 8-7-1. Floyd IMO is still ascending. I think with his body type we'll see that for a couple more years as he gains strength. The decision on his 5th year option is due this offseason and with all the things he does well I don't see anyway we can let him go after next season. So we're likely paying him the 5th year option which I believe is worth around $13-15mil. I'd rather see if we can work out a 3 or 4yr extension and since he doesn't have elite sack numbers try to keep him for around $8-10mil/yr. He's a good player but not elite in any category and his injury history mucks up the negotiating waters. If he's here for 4 more years (3 yr extension) he's just 30 when…

Bears 8-3 at Giants 3-8 Based on DVOA, the Bears are 12th on offense and 1st on defense. The Giants have the 18th ranked offense and 28th ranked defense. The Giants got off to an awful 1-7 start but have played much better after their bye going 2-1. They just lost to the Eagles 25-22, after winning two straight against TB and SF. 10 of their games have been decided by a TD or less. The key is going to be stopping Barkley, who makes up most of their offense. He commonly is the leading rusher and receiver on the team. There has been a lot of talk about the surprise and promise of our young team. Did anyone here or nationally predict 8-4? Nah. We have also read some very good analysis that shows we are amongst the top of the league in many aspects. But yet some are pessimistic about the remainder of the season. This year has truly shown me that one or two plays can swing the balance of any game. We have seen that in all four of our losses this year. This season anything can happen. Don't look for the window to be open next year, because it is open now!

Our oline is ranked top 15, I think 11th last time I checked. Next year we have 5 OL signed to contracts. Long, Leno, Whitehair, Daniels and Sowell On the roster this year are: those 5 plus Kush Coward Massie Witzmann PS: Dejon Allen and Willie Beavers I think Long will be back but the multi injuries with cause concern for his future. I think we resign Witzmann and Coward and Coward becomes our RT going forward.( they have kept him on the roster all year even though he has not played) I think W. OLB Khalil Mack, CB Kyle Fuller, returner Tarik Cohen, and FS Eddie Jackson. The biggest challenge will be getting Akiem Hicks into the Pro Bowl.
