Bearstalk

Its official, we have hired Mike Tice to become our Oline Coach, this is being reported by multiple sources including Zach Zaidman, Adam Shefter and Brad Biggs. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6490

So happy to see Farve throw some picks, delighted to see AP put the ball on the carpet. Go Colts!!

Just rumors and speculation at this point. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/02/ho...with_martz.html

According the the article on the Trib's website: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...l-director.html, it appears that Bobby DePaul who was the Pro Personnel Director has been sent packing. It appears that DePaul and Angelo had a decent relationship however, the relationship between DePaul and Smith was not the best. It appears that DePaul was instrumental in obtaining Jay Cutler and other notables as John Tait and Thomas Jones. So it appears that all the decisions are going to remain with two people to hopefully turn this team around in 2010. I would not hold faith that Angelo and Smith will make the right decisions to right this increasingly sinking ship. I…

from Tom Pelissero via twitter Can't confirm, so take with salt, but there is strong buzz here that Brett Favre has told the #Vikings today he's staying retired.

could anyone really wonder why our offensive line has had serious personnel problems over angelo's tenure? hmmmm

On beating the Cowboys......I think we need to have the same effort from the Defense this week as last. But if Peppers can put Romo out it would be a plus. Now i don't wish that but! Now lets see the Boys have Austin,Bryant, Williams, Hurd and Olgetree as WR and Whitten at TE so I think that we are going to try to cover more with the nickel defense.Lacker & brigger can stop the 3 Cowboy RB'S so thats not a problem there. I think that keeping Romo in the pocket and letting Pepprs chase him will be the difference to our offensive game. If we get good field position like we had in the Lions game we will be a different team. We are going to have to block the 3-4 meaning m…

While catching a glimpse of the MNF game were TO look very good I ponder the following: If someone would have told me at the end of last season that the Bears could have an opportunuity to get both TO and Moss on the roster this season I would of said no way. But that is exactly what JA could have done this season. TO is having a very strong year and Randy has been productive as well. Too bad JA did not go and get these guys when they were available. Because JA would then only really need to focus on solidifying the OL in the next draft and some additional depth at CB, DT, DE etc. But JA decided to be more riske and rely on young and inexpierenc…

Regardless of how often the Bears run the cover-2, we can all agree that the cover-2 serves as their primary defense and the rest of the time it's just a variation or modification from the base. Having said that, it seems that every team in the NFL realizes the Bears are going to do the following most of the game: 1] Keep LBs near the LOS at the snap 2] Keep DBs 5yds off the WRs at the snap 3] Keep Safeties deep That is a recipe for easy slants, curls, and square-ins. Those have burned the Bears for years. So, where is the change? What about the following wouldn't work from time to time? 1] Move the outside LBs laterally to step into the passing lan…

Was just reading that Burress is due to be released in June. The article asks "how well will he perform after being away from the game after two years?". I think I might have an idea; ask Michael Vick or Mike Williams of Seattle. The article also highlighted that he has lost some weight. New York has no interest in him moneywise i believe. Could be that big receiver for relatively no cost and no strings the Bears are needing. Still leaves room for a few OLmen.

I don't love him, but we knew the Bears were planning to take a developmental QB and he was probably the next one off the board. Good size and arm.

Ok now that the man will be free today.....the question is do we make a run to sign him once the lockout is over? IMO I would try in a heartbeat. He will be a perfect fit for the bears passing game and someone cutler can throw to. I like our WR's , but I say this all the time...with the tallest being 6'0 they are just too small to do real damage. Burress will make and have mismatches all day with the 6'1 and under DB's in the game. This will be a great advantage for the Bears, even more so in the red zone where we really need the height. If not Burress then Floyd or Jackson from the Chargers will do

imagine those Bookends...

Zach Zaidman just tweeted that we have signed Marion Barber. I like Barber but this move confuses me. Can anyone make since of this move

Looks like Denver is screwed up front and may be ready to entertain trying to pry some linemen away from other team. Quite frankly I believe there are too many DTs on the team. I think we need to act quick and send the big Toe over that way, even if its not an exhilarating haul in terms of draft picks. Between Melton and Okoye and Adams, you have a 3 man rotation. That doesnt even include Paea. On that note - if we knew Melton was going to be ready to start and that we would be picking up Okoye....we would have been much better off with OL in rounds 2 and 3 would we not? Ug.

Such a moron... NM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbUKl0R1aoY How do you feel about the taxpayers flipping the bill every time the Organization wants new sod laid on the field? Shouldn't Forte get his money before you run him up the gut? J'Webb's Natural position. These are the things I rant about in this video. Please voice your opinion here and tell me what you think.
