Numerous mock drafts have of standing pat and drafting a receiver at 8. I just don't see the value. Thoughts?

Long story short, that move means Cousins is going to a QB-starved team. Until the trade, it was uncertain what would happen. They could still have tagged him, or they could have worked out a deal. But now Alex Smith is the QB in DC, and Cousins is going to be a "franchise" QB available in free agency. That takes at least one QB needy team out of trade possibilities.

I'm not sure where to fit this guy in on a draft board but he's starting to take the same path Haason Reddick did last year with a big rise up draft boards once the process started. Reddick was just 6'1" tall whereas Edmunds is listed at 6'5". That could put Edmunds in play for us at OLB. Like Leonard Floyd he was most often lined up as a LB off the line so in two games and some highlights I didn't see much film of him coming off the edge. When he does he shows some of the skills you want to see. I think he'll need to be stronger in his upper body to play there full time. Watching him play I think he could easily slot into the ILB role for us. If Fangio thi…

I think we can all agree the Bears will not be taking RB and QB with our first pick. So here is a ongoing list of the top 10 minus those positions. M. Fitzpatrick B. Chubbs Q. Nelson These are the three I consistently see in the top 10 as I view a ton of moch drafts. I will expand this as I view more regularly on players in the top 10.

Remember when a lot of here were clamoring over Myles Jack LB in the draft. He looks like a steal for the Jags now as a 2nd RD pick.

I'm in Colombia for the month and am just on my phone so i can't post a link but I just watched a Q Nelson highlights video. Can someone post the link? It was on twitter with thr tilte, Why the Bears can't pass up drafting Q. Nelson. He is a total stud. If Long is healthy cut ties with Sitton ( our best OL last year) He is 31 and missed 6 games in the last 2 years. Time to move on and grab the best OL prospect to come out of college in last 5 years, stated by one scout. I know it's just a OG but is a potential 8 to 10 year all pro prospect. Leno- Q Nelson-Whitehair-healthy Long-New RT ( my choice would be 2nd round pick Kolton Miller. STUD OL with attitude.…

First of all, here's the link to the 2017 version. 2017 EVERYONE AGREES MOCK - VER 2.0 1. Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama - Still a need 2. Pat Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech - Rookie QB acquired in Trubisky. Promising future. 3. Budda Baker, S, Washington - This pick was lost, but Eddie Jackson was selected. Promising future. 4. Chad Wheeler, OT, USC - Still a need 4. Kevin King, CB, Washington - Still a need 5. Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA - Still a need 7. Pharaoh Brown, TE, Oregon - This pick was lot, but Shaheen may be the answer. Unknown future. OT, CB, and DE were essentially ignored, and it showed in 2017. OT - Massie sucked, and Leno was barely average.…

Getting ready for the Senior Bowl and other scouting bonanzas. Bleacher Report's Matt Miller posted an early sleeper list. Some of these players should be on our watch list. Marcus Davenport OLB... I've already written about him. The Senior Bowl will be big for him because on paper he has 1st Rd talent, maybe even top 15 talent. I'm very curious to see how he does. Desmond Harrison OT... In the highlights you can see the raw athleticism that will get him drafted. What round is hard to determine right now and he has character concerns. For now in this short highlight clip we can see he doesn't treat the competition he faced very well. Most of these pla…

Sports Mockery is reporting that sources tell them that Nagy is going hard after Dave Toub to be his special teams coordinator. If he lands both Fangio and Toub as his coordinators that would be unbelievable.

This is interesting. At a minimum it will generate the usual comments about how PFF scores don't always match performance. Nonetheless there is Trubisky sitting right alongside Watson and Mahomes (in a very small sample size) not far above. https://twitter.com/PFF/status/950778207325...com%2Fnfl-draft Myles Garrett will be stud. QB is still the more valuable position. The geniuses in SF can't possibly be happy with Solomon Thomas. I still think he'll be a good player and as a fan of his in the draft expected better play from him. That's close to being a bust in the top 5. Reuben Foster makes up for it late in the 1st Rd. Jabril Peppers pla…

Picture this... Biggest game of the year. Overtime. 2nd/26 at the opposing 41, and they have to score at least a FG. (PS. Their kicker sucks.) Your base defense is set. It's all you really know or do because you're not an outside the box thinker. And when you DO make changes, they're not really in reaction to counteracting the offense. They're just changes for the sake of change. But it's all part of the plan! You intend to confuse the opposing QB not with alterations and adjustments, but with the decision of which QB is most open. You've fully explained position to the safeties, but not philosophy. "They're athletes," you think to yourself, "they can…

There has been chatter the Bears could take Ridley in the top 10. While I still like him as a prospect what I saw tonight was a #2 WR in the NFL. There is no need to draft that skillset early in Rd 1. In Rd 2 maybe but I think he'll be gone by then. Even at that, there are other WR prospects who offer similar skillsets in the 2nd Rd. For me Rd 1 remains on target for OT or OLB.

Who are the Chiefs WRs? I'll give you some help because I needed it. http://www.chiefs.com/team/depth-chart.html Take note of the RBs too because while Kareem Hunt had a great year, if you watched him play you know he's not a great RB. In fact I like our tandem of Howard/Cohen far better. I don't see any Chiefs Oline players in the Pro Bowl either, not in the last few years. Eric Fisher at LT has often been called a bust although he improved recently. http://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/kansa...e190660859.html With those resources KC had the 5th ranked offense in the league in yds/gm and 6th in pts/gm. Of course they had Travis Kelce…
