I think we should resign K. Fuller . It is an area of need and if we go out and sign a high level vet, it will cost us an average of 13 mil based on last years signing. So is Fuller worth, 10 to 11 mil a year at 5 years with 30 mil guaranteed ? I think we have to , you figure we draft one high and at least need a young stable vet going forward. The Marcus Cooper signing was thought to be a ascending player, but fell of the edge. Prince played well but was not outstanding, so I think we keep one and Fuller is 3 years younger.

With all the criticize Pace has gotten lately, I still think he has given us our core for the future. Although his first round picks have had questions due to injuries, he has drafted well outside of that round. Here is my list of who I think our core will be going forward. Crazy to think about how the 2017 and now the 2018 draft will play out. Cleveland passes on Trubisky and Watson, but gets the Texans 1st rounder this year. No way they envisioned the Texans would be worse and their rookie QB lost for the year with an injury. The Texans look to be in bad shape. They do not have a 1st rounder, and who knows what Watson looks like after injury. Cleveland looks bad on one hand (for passing on Tru and Watson) but brilliant on the other hand, now having two top 5 picks (which they will ultimately mess up). So they could end up with Garrett, a top tier QB prospect and another top tier prospect (like Barkley). So who needs a QB? …

To put a spot where we can look at all the potential future HCs.. I think Bill O'Brien might get let go this year. I think he might be a good coach going forward although his record is spotty. Another name out of left field I would like to throw in the ring is Peyton Manning. I have heard he might get into coaching but not necessary this year. Although he is unproven, he is a throbbing football brain, and I suspect would be a good influence on our QB for the future.

He was demoted when we signed Quentin Demps, but came back with a vengence when his window opened. He is becoming a center piece to an up and coming defense and his performance says a lot. It is too bad he didn't make the pro bowl, but his stats say he was deserving. According to the famous well liked PFF site, Amos ranks: 2nd in run defense with a 99.1 grade and 5th in pass coverage with a 89.5 grade. That ranks him #2 overall for all safties. With Jackson and him at S, the Bears have a tandem that can only get better with time.

Two more years on his contract - $7.2 million next year and $7.6 million the next. If we cut him, there is only a $1 million cap hit. I cannot imagine we keep him. Peace

Up until he went on IR, Mitch Unrein was having a career year. In 12 games he had 1.5 sacks and 24 tackles. That's not a joke. That's his career year. Meanwhile, Hicks has 8 sacks, 38 tackles, and is a general terror on the field. The Bears need to upgrade Mitch Unrein more than they need to upgrade OLB. This is something I said last year. Suppose the Bears were one of the healthiest teams in the league instead of one of the most injured? What scenarios would have played out? What would the record be? The first thing I think of is Kevin White. If he didn't get injured again, would he have blossomed into a star WR this year? Would his ascendancy have led to Glennon performing better and keeping the job?
