Bears could look to trade a linebacker Apr 23 4/23/2010 12:45:09 PM | More There is a feeling in the locker room that the Bears could consider trading one of their linebackers to recoup a draft pick according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. What a veteran linebacker would bring in return isn't clear right now. The Bears have seven veteran linebackers and that could be one or two too many after Pisa Tinoisamoa re-signed to compete for the starting job on the strong side. Nick Roach, a restricted free agent who signed a tender for $1.684 million, and veteran Hunter Hillenmeyer, who is due to earn $1.7 million this season, could also be shopp…

My best draft memories were being on the old site when: 1. The debate when we drafted Ced Benson over Mike Williams when guys were so pissed they were ready to travel cross country to kill each other, and 2. The following year when we traded out of the 1st two take Hester & Manning. Some were ready to burn down Halas. The Super Bowl seemed to lighten everyone up. Everyone was happy with Olsen and then Williams the following year. Either way, it doesn't feel like a draft unless someone calls JA a dirty rotten worthless cock-sucker. I'll be in the chat room all night and tomorrow. (I'm continuing my Al Bundy vacation in the garage with the Bud L…

Of course, there's never any telling with JA and company, but as I see it, the Bears are most likely to go DT, CB, or OL. Guys who could be had here: Al Woods, DT, LSU Geno Atkins, DT, Georgia Arthur Jones, DT, Syracuse Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland Mitch Petrus, OG, Arkansas Jason Fox, OT, Miami Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, CB, Indiana (PA) Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma State Syd'Quan Thompson, CB, Cal Domonique Franks, CB, Oklahoma The Tribune is saying the Bears are looking most closely at CB and DL with the next pick. I'm guessing they are targeting Owusu-Ansah, and he'd be the pick if available, but we'll see in 11 hours or so...

I'm a little alarmed how the Bears haven't found an OL in the draft yet...perhaps they already knew they were going to look at FA's.

Has he been picked yet?? If not, why would we not try and get this kid? He has alot of the skills Martz looks for in his offense. He's fast, he can catch and he can create space.

I figure it will probably be an O-lineman, which we certainly need, but, as much as I don't think we necessarily need another WR, I'd be really intrigued if Carlton Mitchell was still there.

  19. As per the trib http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2279764.story Is that an eye-popping number to anyone else? The 2nd round was only 2.5 million, but the first rounder was 18 million. Hell, lets trade our first rounder every year and spend that coin on a proven veteran. Seriously.

  20. PRO DAY RESULTS: Free safety Quentin Scott impressed scouts from eight teams at Northern Iowa's pro day on March 31st. Scott (6-3 7/8, 224) worked out as both a defensive back and a wide receiver and put together a really good workout. He ran a 4.40-second and 4.45-second 40-yard dash, had a 35-inch vertical leap, 10-1 broad jump, 4.18-second short shuttle, 6.88-second three-cone drill and completed 13 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds. His arms were measured at 34 5/8 inches. Ten of Scott's teammates and two players from small area schools also worked out indoors on Mondo track.
