The draft got us 2 really good players, the last 3 are a head scatcher. My suggestions for FA's. There is rumors of going after Cullen Jenkins, of which we will spend alot for. a good move Also I think we will go after a OG of which we wont spend alot on, so I am throwing in the name Duece Lutui. big guy and mean. Also Richard Mashall/CB/from carolina- didnt get a long term extention, and with being friends with Peppers, maybe we get him here. Wont be expensive

  6. So who do you guys think are the winners and losers in this draft? To me, the Bears did well for themselves, but a couple of other teams did even better. Here are my picks. Best Drafts 1) Chiefs: oh man, they helped themselves a TON this year. Jon Baldwin gives them an explosive threat opposite Dwayne Bowe, and they're going to be able to throw all day in the red zone with those two plus Moeaki. Hudson was one of my favorite players in the draft: he'll be a great center. And their defense looks MILES better than last season. Houston and Tamba Hali are a scary pass-rush duo, plus Jerrell Powe and Allen Bailey add a lot of beef to their d-line rotation. 2)…

http://www.cbssports.com/#!/nfl/draft/...es-and-analysis NFC North Chicago Bears: B Despite their well-documented aborted trade with the Baltimore Ravens, the Bears overall did a very nice job in the 2011 draft. The Bears surprisingly found one of the safer offensive tackles still available to them at No. 29 in Wisconsin's Gabe Carimi, the reigning Outland Trophy winner. They also found a squatty strongman to potentially fill the large shoes left by Tommie Harris in former Oregon State Beaver Stephen Paea. Paea's record-breaking 49 reps at 225 pounds at the combine proved his strength, though to be effective as a three-technique he'll need to show b…

So, the draft is over. We know where everyone was selected. Without imaginary trades, what do you wish the Bears would have done with the players available when they picked? 1st - Gabe Carimi, OL, Wisconsin 2nd - Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State 3rd - Clint Boling, OL, UGA 5th - Quan Sturdivant, LB, UNC 6th - Greg McElroy, QB, Alabama

  13. http://bearingthenews.com/?p=1446 Jerry Angelo Needs to Be the “Manager” The Peter Principle states that “in a hierarchy every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence”, meaning that employees tend to be promoted until they reach a position at which they cannot work competently. The problem with climbing up the latter at any place of employment is that they promote you for doing a well at what you do to fill a position where you are called upon to do something totally different. For instance, I was promoted to professor in a science department at an academic institution because I could do experiments at the bench. Guess how many experiments I…

I've read where some qb's (Drew Brees and Eli Manning) are paying for and running team workouts. Is Cutler doing this and do you think we will be behind if the Bears are not doing this?

As per http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=7849 He's number #92 and they've only announced 91-100 so far. Urlacher and Peppers will make the list. Maybe Hester???

  18. Peter King recently released a top 100 players list like the one on NFL Network and Cutler is his #85. I agree here. The Bears only have 3 more on NFL Network's list after Briggs was 93 or 94, so it must be Hester, Peppers, and Urlacher. Cutler isn't liked by many peers, but there's no way Donovan McNabb is better than JC is. Hell, even Greg Jennings was ranked like 73rd or something by NFL Network. Is there really 13 or 14 WR's better?

  20. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=team...ts-2011-nfl-chi Thought this article was really good. Big talking point is that Cutler was quoted as saying the offensive side of the ball will be working with each other shortly. Basically that something is planned but he didn't get into specifics. Also has a ton of quotes related to the draft. Pretty solid off-season summary article in general.
