False historians and statistical nerds will look at Cutler's INTs at the end of the year - just like the majority of the ignorant sports media who haven't watched the games - and they'll blame it all on Cutler. They'll say this was a horrible year for Cutler and he made a multitude of mistakes. They'll say the trade was ridiculously lopsided, and the Broncos basically robbed the Bears. But what they won't see is a slew of INTs that are not really Cutler's fault. This past game against the Packers just adds two more to the list. INT #1 = Aromashodu runs the wrong way, Billick basically says as much on air INT #2 = Knox runs the wrong way on an adjustment, hangin…

Jeff Dickerson, on AM1000 this morning, reported Orlando Pace was ready and wanting to play last week. The coaching staff told him that Williams will be starting the rest of the year. For some reason, I did not see this in the paper anywhere. Dickerson said it was something they were trying to keep quiet. Peace

Remaining playoff teams and their QB Dallas - Romo New Orleans - Brees Arizona - Warner Minn - Favre Ravens - Flacco (meh) Colts - Manning San Diego - Rivers Jets - Sanchez (meh meh) If you want to add round one losers: Eagles - McNabb Green Bay - Rogers New England - Brady Bengals - Palmer Quite simply the odds are that if you have one of the better QBs you will make the playoffs. It's not always true and you usually have some elite defense in the mix too (Jets this year). We've had threads on this topic before but despite how we finished this season I still feel it was worth it to have a young talented QB on our team.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,7047151.story Bears running back Matt Forte had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee within the last two weeks, according to multiple sources. The clean-up procedure followed a post-season MRI. Forte sprained the medial collateral ligament in his knee during the Bears' 25-19 victory at Seattle in Week 3, but it is unclear if the surgery stems from that specific injury. Although Forte ran better toward the end of the season, he averaged just 3.6 yards per carry, down from his 3.9-yard average as a rookie. He finished with 929 rushing yards on 258 carries as the Bears ranked 29th in the league. Forte ran for 1,2…

  5. He's done great things for Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense has gotten better. Below is some stuff I dug up on Jackson. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hue_Jackson - Has been an offensive coordinator in the NFL (2007 with the Falcons and 2003 with Redskins) - Prior to getting that position, he was the Bengals highly regarded Wide-Receiving Coach (who helped developed Ocho Cinco, Henry, and Houshyourmama). - Before the Bengals, he worked as an Oline coach and OC with the Redskins Seems like a pretty solid hire. My only concern would be how he kept OC positions for such a short period of time, but you could also argue that he never really got a shot. …

About me though, not the Bears. Some here wanted me to keep them updated, and as a collective group of bear fans who supported me throughout this process, I wanted to share the good news with everyone. As a lot of you probably already know, I was an aspiring D-I football player but wasnt recruited out of high school. I then went onto a Junior College and had a successful freshman season. Well, my hard work paid off and on wednesday I signed with Northern Illinois to play football. I just wanted to share the good news with you guys cause you've supported me throughout this whole process and did nothing but wish me the best of luck. Unfortunately, while my activity on …

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...neil09.article# The above article talks about the importance of keeping our D off the field. I have preached this for years and have been met with strong debate. This article doesn't vindicate me by any stretch, but does convey my exact thoughts on the situation and will use that as a sounding board, because there is no way I could have said it better. I posted in another thread that Martz would not provide an advantage needed in Time of Possession (TOP). I'll admit being half wrong about his offense's ability to hold a TOP advantage. With the other half yet to play out, as we will need to see it with Bears player…

Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of email questions from fans every day on ChicagoBears.com. Do you think the Bears will play Frank Omiyale at guard or tackle this season? Ryan T. Lemont, Illinois I think that depends on what the Bears do in free agency and the draft to upgrade their offensive line. If they sign or draft a tackle who can contribute this season, I could see Frank Omiyale remaining at guard. But if they bolster their line with an inside player, I think Omiyale could play…

Allright MadLith (and all other non-Lovie advocates), I will concede that if Lovie and Co. cannot pull it together this year and at the very least make it to the playoffs, away he (and they) go. With the additions of Peppers, Taylor, Manumaleuena (sp?), Cutler and who else??? then there is absolutely no excuse the Bears should not be contenders for the upcoming year...or for a few afterwards. This is another fantastic day in Bears history.

Dont get me wrong, id rather get Nate Allen in thre 3rd, but he wont be there, guaranteed, probably Burnett either. Unheard of size and speed, dont care why other teams pass, what do they know?

Of course, there's never any telling with JA and company, but as I see it, the Bears are most likely to go DT, CB, or OL. Guys who could be had here: Al Woods, DT, LSU Geno Atkins, DT, Georgia Arthur Jones, DT, Syracuse Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland Mitch Petrus, OG, Arkansas Jason Fox, OT, Miami Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, CB, Indiana (PA) Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma State Syd'Quan Thompson, CB, Cal Domonique Franks, CB, Oklahoma The Tribune is saying the Bears are looking most closely at CB and DL with the next pick. I'm guessing they are targeting Owusu-Ansah, and he'd be the pick if available, but we'll see in 11 hours or so...

Justin Smiley - G - MIA - Apr. 27 - 7:45 am et The Dolphins are considering releasing LG Justin Smiley, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. The Fins shopped Smiley throughout the draft, but couldn't even use him as a trade throw-in. The addition of third-round pick John Jerry may have sealed Smiley's fate, though we'd think his $2.9 million salary isn't too much to pay an effective, experienced backup. Smiley was not a major liability in '09. Apr. 27 - 7:45 am et Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel To me, this would solidy the …

Listening to sports radio this morning one would think the bears were the underdog. According to these "experts" the bears not only don't "deserve" to be there but that the seahawks should win here are some of the points they made. 1. Hasselback sees the bears defense very well and knows how to attack it. 2. If Hester hadn't scored the special teams TD the loss would have been worse. 3. The bears/cutler are due to have a let down. Here are the facts. 1. The only quarterback that "saw" our defense well was Brady. An 87.7% passer rating with only one TD does not make Matt the equivalent of Brady. 2. If we are counting "ifs" then what if we had go…
