Here is my mock draft scenario, and based on all mock drafts, none of my picks will be correct, however, it would be nice to address these positions: 1. Bears trade #20 to SF for #31, #74 (Rd3), and #157 (Rd5) so SF can draft Kenny Vaccaro at #20. 2. Using NFLDraftScout's Prospect Rankings, I filtered it for only CB/DT/ILB/WR/OT/OG/C/TE/QB, then figured out who might be available at our current top 3 picks (20, 50, and 117). For the 1st round, I figured +/-10, 2nd round +/-12, and 4th round +/-20. I was assuming this is how far someone could fall and how far we might reach on a pick. So was reading on Rotoworld where depending on how well Freeman does in Minnesota, Ponder could very well be released next year. And they pointed out chances are he would not compete for a starting spot. So I ask.. Could he be a fit? Pluses: two years removed from being a number one pick (young), good numbers at Fla State, strong arm and good speed. Going forward however during the bye week: Defense: Briggs said at the beginning of the season that they should keep the same defense because it wasn't broken. My friend it is full broken. The playoffs aren't an impossibility but changes have to be made. Offense: I would keep Cutler out as long as necessary. We have enough weapons to score. It is tough to say he isn't the long term answer when there are not good options out there. But I would definitely draft a quarterback and not over invest in a Cutler contract.

So I'm thinking, "What does this team need?" A defensive player who can shore up the line of scrimmage, stop the run, let our athletic LBs make plays, and generally be a nuisance to the other team. The best fit, in my opinion, is BJ Raji. He fits the bill for every criteria above. On top of that, there are other perks: 1) He's disillusioned with Green Bay. They stuck him at NT and didn't let him rush the QB at all. Per Len Pasquerelli of ESPN.com It isn't quite as good as him actually getting released, but if it is true it is good to see the Bears aren't thinking that this was just a bad season for Arch and that they can still plan on counting on him next year.
