The drought of Patriot arrests has ended with Faulk and DB Willie Andrews getting caught this month. While going to the Cajundome is usually asking for trouble, Faulk might be the first person in history to get caught by a concert security check. In 2001 I was at the game the Bears clinched the division by beating Jax. It was damn cold in early January in Soldier Field. Anyway, in the second half of the game Keith Traylor, a big defensive lineman, intercepted a Mark Brunnell pass and took it almost to the house. It may have been the best use of RUMBLIN' STUMBLIN' BUMBLIN' in ESPN's history. I recall it as knowing at that moment the game was over but I know Jax had some time after that and just didn't do anything. Jauron was the head coach and I thought we had something good building. Apparently Brett Favre has asked for his unconditional release from the Packers. He wants to play again and my guess is he ends up in Minnesota. A year ago if this happened, I would have penciled him into Chicago but now with an unproven RB, young oline, and an unproven WR core I don't see the Bears as a very attractive option for Brett (albeit I still think it would be one of his top 5 destinations, given the strong defense and his familiarity with the franchise).

So Favrre's career ends with a Wootten sack, a concussion and a Bears' Victory? I'll take it!

I think he is. No way, at his age, he should heal so fast from injuries and all of a sudden his career takes a big swing up. That stuff wouldn't naturally happen at his age IMO Oh, and I have absolutely no facts to back up my accusation.

I read a few posts on the internet from PFT, and the Trib about Favre being released by the Jets. And therefore some of these writers are speculating he'll land in Minny next. 1. I do not think he'll un-retire yet again. 2. If he does, I relish the thought! I'd love 2 more chances to send him into permanant retirement! He proved last year he can no longer be effective for a full season. While he may light things up for 8 weeks, he'll falter down the stretch. I'll take Cutler any day over that over-the-hill, over-rated Wrangler peddling bum! PS - If he does un-retire, do we assume so will Madden?

if you look closely you can see John Madden kissing his butt. I kind of get the choice but at the same time I don't get it. It's always been a current player but I guess it makes sense that Madden would choose Favre for the cover. What's he going to talk about now that his true love has left the game?
