Now that the draft is complete and the Bears have added a handful of playmakers this offseason, there still are a few voids I thought may be been addressed but have not. I suspect they may keep a close eye on the players cut/waivers and maybe bring in more UDFA's. If not filled this season, it will be priorities for next. OT - Unless Morgan plays OT, it seems we are light going into camp here. This position will be thinner at years end also because Massie's contract will expire. Okay, so here is the question. Which is worse. Which is the lesser of evils. Wasted salary cap space or overpaying for FAs. Normally, I am not a big fan of overpaying for FAs, but I view this year as being different. In the past, we had plenty of our own to re-sign. That isn't the case today. In the last 3 seasons, the Bears have signed or traded for at least 37 players, I am sure I missed a few. Of all the trades and free agent signings, I have 5 players that have exceeded expectations based on contract or trade value. Who did I miss? When Johnson declared for the draft, some scouts he might end up as a right tackle in the long term, and others thought he'd have to stay put at guard. He's listed as a guard, but he'd be one of the biggest guards in the league - he goes 6'7" 360 pounds (or more.) Just a what if, but recently while watching combine results on NFL Network I heard analyst Mike Mayock say that Myron Rolle will probably go somewhere in the 4th or 5th round. He is a "Safety" and sounds as though he could cover the position perfectly as the Bears would need. Pair that with his Rhodes Scholar title and desire to become a brain surgeon then I think the Bears could definitely be onto something. We got a taste of our own medicine tonight. Our offense against a legit D and we show how bad we are. Did Tice even realize what the weather was going to be like?
