Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/monday...orters-sources/ I've just presumed Smith will recover and be a stud, but this makes you think twice (albeit, the dr has not actually reviewed Smith's medical records). It seems that if you take Smith, you should do so knowing there is a high risk that he doesn't play or is really just building himself back in 2016. I am okay with that risk, but it would be really interesting to see what the actual quacks are looking at and see when they review these guys. Makes you further appreciate those "medical" guys who end up just falling down draft boards despite "good" reports of health.

I think lost in all this is Matt Forte. He now has a real QB. Look I like Kyle and I wish him all the best in Denver. But Cutler's ypa is almost 8 while Orton's was almost 6. I know Cutler here won't have the weapons but Orton also won't go there and have a Matt Forte. Anyways, I think this opens it up even more for Forte. He now probably won't get as many touches through the air which should give him a rest a bit but a playaction will open it up big time for Cutler, and a draw will open it up big time for Forte. I just wanted everyone's thoughts on this.

This is a short blurb linked from Forte's twitter account. They both look good, but notice that Forte appears to be pushing harder (I like). http://www.twitvid.com/XHUGT

Looks like we won't have to worry about Matt Forte to much longer according to the Chicago Tribune.' Forte close to signing Just as we were starting to think about sweating. Jeez, we worry too much.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl,193266 I think it is a little too early for a comparison like this. Especially considering that Forte's rookie year was better than any year by either of the two. I also believe that he is playing injured, our O-Line has been bad in support of the run, teams have stacked the box, and we've played 2x 3-4 defenses.

  10. Started by Chitownhustla,

He is so important to this team. He has to be one of the most undervalued RB in the league. Currently he is leading the league in rushing. If he keeps this up over the course of the year showing no signs of slowing down the Bears better think about resigning him. I get that RB's after 30 slow down and hope Forte's contract demands are not too high. Maybe he would give the Bears a home town discount.

Here is a must read article that says it all about the maturity of Forte (he has shown more maturity in his 1st few months as a Bear than CB did his entire stay). It also dicusses other aspects of the Bears as well. Good stuff!! Forte earning respect for his attitude

The Official Bears site has an article showing Forte has had the franchise tag placed on him. Hopefully before long we will see an article saying he has been signed to a long term contract and the "tag" was just used to make sure he did not go anywhere while we tried to finish up negotiations. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=8669

Comments out of the Forte camp: Trying to get public opinion on his side if he goes? Why even respond to things like this? They happen all the time.

  17. Started by jason,

Interesting video from Forte, he's humble, and shooting for 1000 yards this season. I honestly see no reason why he can't get more. One note on the video: Bears are without their top passer, rusher, and receiver from last year. Why does that matter? I could understand if the guys did well, but if those top three led to an offense that was widely regarded as a joke, and less effective than several college offenses, then why worry? Why care? The only considerable loss is Berrian, and he hadn't yet shown the ability to be a true #1, something for which he wanted to be paid.

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6499 Bears run game struggled, but Forte finished with a flourish By: Larry Mayer | Last Updated: 1/20/2010 4:57 PM The following is the second of nine position reviews of the 2009 season. LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears ranked a disappointing 29th in the NFL in rushing in 2009. But their running backs did provide some bright spots to build on heading into next season. Matt Forte rushed for 929 yards and averaged 3.6 yards per carry, a decline in both categories after he gained 1,238 yards and averaged 3.9 yards per attempt during a breakout rookie season in 2008. After just two seasons,…
