Two items caught my eye yesterday: Chad Henne signed a two year deal for $8mil Matt Cassell signed a two year deal for $10mil If that's the market for backup and/or care-taker QBs while rookies learn the ropes, goodbye Josh McCown. He did a great job for us and if he can now get a similar contract to those above then that's great for him and his family. It's just not a deal the Bears can do given all the needs on defense.

He's certainly handed out more big suspensions during his terms than anyone on record. I guess here's how I see the good and the bad... Good Got a long term collective bargaining agreement with the players that puts a little more balance in the negotiations between teams and players. Seems to have gotten players attentions with all of the suspensions. I'd say the league has cleaned up its act pretty well. Goodell and finances I agree with him. It's ridiculous. The amount these guys get paid is crazy, but to see a rookie get it is that much more insane. Some will argue about capitalism, but it's not an equal comparison. If it were, there would be bidding wars on each player coming straight out of college, there would be no cap, and the NY teams would be in the playoffs for 20 straight years like in baseball. It'll be so nice to see rookies actually have to do something to get paid, and not crap the bed, costing their franchise tons of money without production.

I was trying to find what Nickel CBs make. Moore from Colts is the highest paid nickel at 10 mil a year from what I can find. Signed in 2024 So how much will Gordon get? 4 year 45 Mil extension,24 mil guarantee? He is signed threw 2025 Anyone have any input into this?

What would you think about drafting DE with our first 2 picks? Not saying I'm for it. just a good debatable topic. Things like: our D is predicated on pressure, lots of DE's worked for the Giants twice, drafting two increases the odds of striking gold, Peppers could move inside on passing downs to pressure the QB's face and lastly, the Pack hate it.

With no pads, it's damn near impossible to grade the lines & defense since they went through the motions. Here's my thoughts on QB's, WR's, and the TE's: 1. The radio guys talked about the all great catches but the secondary was avoiding contact. If you hear the media say, "He made a dazzling one-handed grab" there was typically a safety boring down on the receiver. In live action there'd have been no catch. Our QB's completed like 50 consecutive passes. 2. DA was constantly targeted by Cutler. He made some nice catches where he had to adjust his body and he'd go up and get it. He looks like Andre the Giant next to our other WR's cause they're so short…
