Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. So with Hester and his "one dimensional" contribution possibly leaving Chicago, maybe a player like Sproles could be the replacement? He's multi dimensional (to include returning kicks) and is familiar to OC Kromer. Not exactly the 'change of pace' back I think most envision, especially with Bush gone. But maybe a good option as third down back behind Forte(?)

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 30m Source: #Bears are now targeting #Raiders star defensive end Lamarr Houston after missing out on Michael Bennett. They are pushing hard No surprise here. one thing we know for sure is the Bears want the best DE they can get, which is obviously the way to go.

I think Emery is not going to be willing to spend the money on our backup. McCown probably gets a 2 year 4 to 5 mil and is to rich for Bears. Some one drafting a rookie QB will pay to get insurance. teams for McCown: TB, they could use a good backup with Glennon still developing on the job, plenty of cap space, Lovie throws a dig to the Bears organisation, closer to home Jacksonville, they will draft a QB and Josh would be a good fall back if the rookie needs time to grow, closer to home, plrnty of cap space FA options: I think Jordon Palmer comes back on a vet min deal AND we draft a developmental QB 4th round and below; …

Players are starting to fall so what does that tell us? Henne/QB--2 year-8 mil Cassal/QB-2 year-10 mil Probably means we say good bye to McCown--a better QB than the two mentioned and we wont be paying that kind of money for a backup QB Shields/CB-4year-39 mil Ross/CB-1 year-570 k Greenwood/CB-1 year-570 k Grimes/CB-4 year-32 mil Hall/CB-4 year-17 mil Hayden-1 year-840k Probably means Peanut will be closer to Hall (30) money I would say a 2 year 6.5 mil(dont see the Bears paying that) Pollard/S-2 year-6.3 Allen/S- 1 year-955k Stuckey/S-4 year-? Were looking at Mundy and Mitchell I would say contracts if we sign them will be a…

Two items caught my eye yesterday: Chad Henne signed a two year deal for $8mil Matt Cassell signed a two year deal for $10mil If that's the market for backup and/or care-taker QBs while rookies learn the ropes, goodbye Josh McCown. He did a great job for us and if he can now get a similar contract to those above then that's great for him and his family. It's just not a deal the Bears can do given all the needs on defense.
