As a heads up...you might notice some posts from today missing. I was trying to do an upgrade and ran into an issue and had to restore from yesterday's backup. Apologies for the inconvenience. Either way, I'll be updating forum software shortly (shouldn't be an issue) but in case someone sees site down for a few hours, that would be why.

We have picks 126 (4th), 205 (6th), 222 (7th), 238 (7th). I think Pace is going to make a trade to get either one more pick or to get back into the 5th Rd from 205. To get that done he'll either drop back from 126 or he'll use one of next years' picks to move up.

Noah Spence lit up the Senior Bowl and he's exactly what we don't have on defense at OLB. I expect that what Von Miller did only further elevated Spence's value around the league. I'm wondering what thoughts are about him? He will likely be there at #11 although that's not entirely certain if he stays out of trouble the next few months. He won't be there when we draft in Rd 2. I don't see Pace going this route after what he went through with Ratliff, McDonald, and then the injury to White. White's situation is clearly different with the injury but the last thing Pace needs is back to back 1st Rd picks that have issues. I think he goes a safer route and at #11…

Very surprised there is not a thread on Leonard Floyd's performance last night. I was at work so I have yet to watch the game but I've seen highlights of his play. Both sacks, and even his "hurry" on Rodgers in the 1st quarter were excellent plays. Most impressive was seeing him cross the face of the OT and then fight through the double team right up the middle to take Rodgers down.

Anyone have any idea what is behind this move? It's not like long snappers are in the spotlight for much of anything except bad snaps. That hasn't been much of a problem. Rarely does a team swap a long snapper mid-season because this is a key part of your FG unit that normally you don't want to change on the fly. They did this swap right after the Thur night game so there are extra practice opportunities for Gould to settle in with the new guy. The only thing I can think of is that there is some sort of suspension coming up and the Bears decided to get ahead of it and sign the new guy now while they had the 10 days between games, and maybe while Scales was avai…

For those who believe Pace will shy away from players with an injury history early in the draft, keep in mind that Jonathan Allen has had at least two shoulder surgeries and it's rumored there was a 3rd surgery that was not reported. Medical checks at the combine will be very key for his draft status and this is certainly a concern for a DT who is a little bit undersized. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2686747...de-in-nfl-draft

So I'm sitting at the Kona airport waiting for my connection to Honolulu and had some time to think. Dick LeBeau has resigned from the Steelers but said he doesn't plan on retiring. I know he's old but doesn't seem to age. What if be was interested in being a HC? I like that he's been around awhile so he has street cred and might attract some good young eventual coordinator prospects. Most here loved Cowher and the two of them spent some quality time together. What if?

After Wilson and Wagner deals, Seattle has to clear some cap space. McDaniel will probably sign with a 4-3 team, but he would be a decent pickup to fill the hole made by McDonald (and only a few letters to change on uniform). Could he work as a DE in a 3-4? Just curious because he is only 30, played for SEA the last 2 seasons, and shouldn't cost more than $2-$3 mil per year. On a totally unrelated side note, I did some research (not complete yet) after the Wilson and Wagner signings and found that there are 12 teams that will have over $70mil in cap space tied to their top 6 players in 2016 (basically 6 players taking up half their cap space): SEA, DEN, GB, P…

I believe most all would agree, LT is the most difficult position on the OL. It is hard enough for a rookie to start at LT, and w/ each missed practice, Wiliams chances might drop a bit more. Further, we are reading how St. Clair is "supposedly" looking pretty good at LT. I wonder if there is a chance Williams is moved inside for the season. If he can't beat out St. Clair at LT, I have a hard time seeing him sitting on the bench. Lovie doesn't talk like he will simply start Williams, regardless how he looks, though we all know better than to take Lovie at his word. Still, I wonder if a move inside isn't possible. Many other 1st round OTs were initially moved …

  16. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,3462831.story Brian Urlacher wouldn't bite when asked about a personal milestone he'll likely reach Thursday night. But as someone with a sense of history of the Bears, and specifically their middle linebackers, he knows what it will mean when he passes Hall of Famer Mike Singletary to become the franchise's all-time leading tackler. Urlacher has 1,484 and needs only four to overtake Singletary, a 10-time Pro Bowl selection. So what does it mean for the 32-year-old Urlacher, who's in his 11th season? "It probably means Lance (Briggs) is going to pass me in a couple years," he said. Briggs is fourth on…

I don't know how much Cap the Bears have left, but I assume it's enough to make a push for Peterson. The way I figure it, why not? He doesn't seem to be getting the interest expected, which means the cost will be lower than anticipated. He's a perfect "complimentary" back, which sounds ridiculous to say. Truth is, the Bears should be running way more than passing this year, so it makes sense to create a two-headed monster in Howard and Peterson. The added benefit is it obviously extends the usefulness of each RB because the lessened burden. And the cherry on top? Adrian Peterson would get to shove it to his former team who didn't want to keep him around. …

Find a long term deal with Floyd now. The quote below is from Trevathan who usually doesn't give that kind of detailed praise. The article has more good info on how Floyd is developing at the guidance of our new OLB coach Monachino. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/bears/ct-spt-bears-leonard-floyd-breakout-season-biggs-20190617-story.html “I don’t know many linemen you got, but you better put some more on there because he’s been putting his best foot forward,” Trevathan said. “He’s been working his tail off and he’s been learning this defense in and out. I’ve been seeing him be more explosive, putting on a little more weight, a lot stronger, a lot more …
