Talked Mariotta and Winston. Said he's still very early in his film sessions but from the QB coaches, scouts and other offensive coaches he talked to, there was zero debate that Winston has everything you want to see on the football. Instinctive thrower who anticipates openings very well, tough, all the measureable's, high football IQ, etc. Said all reports are that his work ethic is strong and he's extremely well liked in the lockeroom and considered a good leader. Really only knock is the off the field issues. When talking Marcus, it was basically that he individually has the tools, however, most everyone is scared as to how he'll handle the pro system and can he a…

For those who believe Pace will shy away from players with an injury history early in the draft, keep in mind that Jonathan Allen has had at least two shoulder surgeries and it's rumored there was a 3rd surgery that was not reported. Medical checks at the combine will be very key for his draft status and this is certainly a concern for a DT who is a little bit undersized. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2686747...de-in-nfl-draft

Couple tid bits from a Mulligan article in the Sun Times, http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...mully30.article Payne was benched for not being able to defend the pass, but, lo and behold, he's now used as a deep safety in nickel downs because the player starting ahead of him, Danieal Manning, moves down into the box in passing situations. In other words, Payne, who isn't good against the pass, is only used in passing situations. Does that make sense? Man, I have been saying that since camp when the staff said this was their plan. It just never made sense to me. Payne was removed from the FS position in favor of DM, mainly due to his lack of abilit…

I thought I was the only football fan watching these bull runs in Pamplona but Rex Ryan is actually there: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000021...-once-but-twice Rex was lucky that bull just stopped at a huge pileup of people and never attacked anyone, especially considering how long it took him to get over the fence. My wife is Spanish and so we have TV broadcast from Spain and I watch the run nightly at 11pm. This is how I survive the worst sports month of the year. If anyone is interested the video of the daily bull runs is all here: http://www.sanfermin.com The videos of the daily runs are at the El Encierro link near the top. In t…

Based on the lack of a 4th rounder (used for Booker), the Bears have to nail their first 4 picks with 75+ picks between picks after pick #72. #10 #39 (CAR) #41 #72 -Following Picks will change, but currently: #147 #197 (PIT) #218 or #246 (CLE) #233 (CIN) Depending on the board, they may want to move back with one of their 2nds or the 3rd to pickup another pick. Examples: Moving from#41 to #48 would net a mid-4th Moving from #41 to #55 would net a late 3rd. Moving from #73 to #85 would net a mid-4th.

This is an article that suggests what Emery might do in the draft. His traits he looks for. I think Hageman also fits that mold. http://nflmocks.com/2014/03/29/chicago-bea...icks-nfl-draft/

Would we have any interest in Holt or Pace? http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines...L&hl=138939 Holt: Good hands and with his age isn't as much of a deep threat as he once was. For other teams that would be a problem. But with a dink and dunk offense that focuses on accuracy and has limited creativity. Holt would allow Lloyd expendable. Pace Going into his 13th year age is an issue. Injury is another issue. However, two things: A third round pick is cheep for a tackle like Pace. We have shown in the past not to have too many problems bringing aged lineman. Second, imagine being Pace, locked into a long term deal and knowing your team …

Whoever the Bears choose to run football operations, might have difficulty drafting in terms of taking players that fit a certain scheme. With Martz gone, I think offense will be easier. As for defense, if your the GM would you take guys specifically that fit the cover-2 or would you grab a player that would fit a more traditional style defense? Luckily our biggest needs are on the offensive side of the ball and thats were I would go heavy early. But if we fail to make the playoffs again next year, Lovie might just get shown the door and then we are stuck with players that might not excel in standard 3-4. Seems like we are back to square one when JA had to draft for J…

Some people think that Kingsbury has did a better job with a rookie QB than Johnson with Goff. Pluses: former HC Has developed QBs Has a relationship with Caleb Did have some success but failed after Murray got hurt. He may be looked at as a viable candidate for a HC job.

Some people are just capable of doing something amazing in their lives. Some run, sing, play the piano, etc. Idiot savant stuff. Tillman has been able to strip a ball since, I suspect, birth. I can picture it now... His big brother comes up, grabs a toy from Tillman. P-Nut calmly tracks his brother down from behind, and rips the ball clean.
