Before the games start to roll, I would just like to say, I really like what Emery is doing. He looks like he had a really good draft this year with 10 rookies finding spots on the team. Last years draft is still a big question mark, but with Lovie still around I suspect he influenced the draft quite a bit. If we get more contribute out of the ones left from that draft, it will be considered an decent draft.He is remaking the roster, and not afraid to get rid of people he drafted if they dont cut it. With Sunday approaching quickly, I'm curious as to type of offense and defense we will see heading into Game 1 against the Bengals. What I am expecting is to see the Bears come out in a wide variety of offensive formations to keep the defense on their heels. I expect to see a good chunk (maybe more-so later in the year) of the pistol, not in terms of the QB run, but in terms of play action passing. Martellus Bennett should be a huge factor if they choose to go that route, because the middle of the field will be wide open. I'd assumed all along Wootton was the man but according to this article it hasn't been decided yet.

I have had several requests to lock the Webb thread so that it will roll off the page and we can get onto more important issues, things like the 2013 Bears and trying to make the playoffs. If anyone has major objections I can open it back up. Hopefully we can bury this and move on.

The first and foremost factor will be health. With DJ Williams returning to practice and possibly starting, having rookie LBs Bostic and Greene serving as depth bodes well. Of course Williams health going forward will be a concern but Bostic receiving significant reps in the preseason is a plus.Right now this team is thin at the OL depth an CB depth and inexperienced at quite a few positions after the top 3 guys. We had our fantasy league draft yesterday, 10 team PPR 16 round draft. I drafted 4th Start - 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 Def/st, 1 Kicker, 7 bench spots. Below is my full draft, current starters for week 1 are in bold. What do you think? I like my backs, I think I'm a little weak on WR and TE. QBs went early so I ended up taking Kapernick, but the early rush on QB allowed me to nab Forte in the second. This may not surprise some of you who were paying more attention. I find it amazing. A team that went 10-6 last year and we replaced 60% of the roster! I have no reason not to trust Emery at this point and regardless I admire his ability to put his stamp on the team this quickly. It looks like it's working but actual game results will tell us the real answer soon enough. I sure hope he knows what he's doing. (The 32/53 number came from Channel 2 sports at 6 tonight. I haven't confirmed.)
