With the owners having just voted to approve the new collective bargaining agreement I though it would be good to have a single thread to cover the various new rules that will be coming out in the next few days from FA, salary cap, rookie salaries, etc. Item 1: Bears Rams Hall of Fame game is cancelled. All teams will have identical preseason practice time and games

I look at all the moves the Bears make and shake my head. Nothing spetacular, but at least they have did something and arent done yet. I think they had a good draft, if they get Kueutz back will be an ok FAgency. The thing I need to realize is WITH a bad offensive line, poor WRs, and a sprint to put able bodies in the secondary, they still made it to the NFC title game. I have to say I need to be a little more positive about their stupidity.

I saw a few here talking about Lofa Tatupu and how they shoud look at going younger. Reading around about this kid is that the opinion is he would make for a better SLB than a Safety. Does this sound familiar? As perhaps someone we know from New Mexico? http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nineri...?entry_id=94709

Rosenbloom has a nice take http://www.chicagotribune.com/site/newspap...0,5420889.story I've been to Family Night (it sucks, but that's besides the point) I'm pissed. How is this possible? The field hasn't been used since July 22 for the stupid soccer game. But it's not ready . . . The Bears have to be accountable in all this. This didn't get cancelled until 5:30. We had nobody there? What an embarrassment. The only silver lining is that people will be pissed off enough to see a change.

Lets get off the Olsen trade stuff already. I've moved on. The Bears moved on.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...bears/#comments Packers make their White House visit, Obama wants Rodgers on the Bears Posted by Michael David Smith on August 12, 2011, 3:17 PM EDT APBears fan Barack Obama welcomed the Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers to the White House on Friday, and in his comments congratulating the team, he made special mention of Charles Woodson and Aaron Rodgers. During the Packers’ run to the Super Bowl, Woodson complained about Obama openly supporting the Bears. Woodson used that as a motivational tool then, and Obama mentioned it today. “I gave Charles a little bulletin-board material last year,” Obama said…

Bears will be televising the game tonight on thier site. http://www.chicagobears.com/cbn/PreseasonTV.asp Enjoy and see ya there.

Chester Taylor to the Texans might make sense for the Bears: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-for-bears.html This is by Sean Jenson. The Texans have their 4 top running backs hurt so they might be interested in giving up a late round draft pick for Taylor who is due 1.25 million this year. He also mentions that Khalil Bell is a core special teams player and looked good Saturday. Meanwhile, Taylor carried the ball 3 times for 3 yards. I can't remember ever seeing Taylor with the Bears and thinking anything but, "He might be a servicable running back who blocks well." Marion looked like a freaking beast. On a side note, Unga rush…

How many of you that bought this game immediately regret buying it? I know I do. To anyone thinking about purchasing this game, do yourselves a favor and don't. If you had last years game, you have this years game. There seriously is nothing different in Madden 12 that wasn't in Madden 11. Sure, the "Special Team Intros" are a new feature but what they didn't tell you is how annoying and boring it gets after seeing it over and over again and how the gameplay has not changed at all. The same problems that have been in Madden for years remain in this years game. The computer AI is so bad, Tom Clancy would be rolling over in his grave if he played this game. Receivers let th…

If Poles wants to secure his job for the next 10 years he will get him to come to the Bears....that is if Sean isnt retiring. On espn 1000 this morning Kap said Payton told Pace to NOT take the Bears job, they are a shitty org. Hes not wrong. lol

Bears came in at 11: The additions of Reiff and Schofield helped out a lot. The line could be even better if Jones or Jenkins beat out Borom. Then the 2 that don't win the starting job become super subs with Mustipher as depth. That is a very solid O-Line and a lot better than last year.

I think this deserves it's own thread. So far we have Chase Allen TE and Isaiah Coulter WR.

After watching this, I feel much better. QB1 is maturing before our eyes. Compare this to a Trubisky presser from 2019, it is night and day difference:

GB is 3-4 lol. This has been a great season for the Packers losing and looking like crap. Now a loss to Washington. I wonder if Rodgers will get any crap? He had 146 yds passing before the garage time prevent defense allowed 50 yds passing. His 2 TDs were to a RB, so technically going into the last drive he had 93 passing yds to WRs and TEs and ended with 141 yds passing to non-RBs. He had 4 more passing yards than Fields, but Fields had 88 rushing yards to his 0. Where is the media outrage? GB's last 5 games, 3 straight losses, a 3 pt win against NE, and a 2 pt win against TB.

Chicago Bears Mobile: Poles talks Bears-Patriots on pregame radio show https://www.chicagobears.com/news/poles-talks-bears-patriots-on-pregame-radio-show-justin-fields-trade-deadline Read the article first, then replay the game in your mind. I couldn't love this impromptu interview anymore. It's almost like he's telling you what's about to happen three hours before the game. This leadership crew gets it!

There is no way this should happen. The franchise pick deserves much better defending him. https://www.totalprosports.com/nfl/bears-sam-mustipher-confused-justin-fields-mnf/?fbclid=IwAR2NxLlxiVwbdiDrX8fwaeg47E1T7G6ZJ5LS7SlB0zjl4qT02rTIg65wfdQ

With Fields now also a runner and the emergence of Herbert in this scheme, it really looks like Montgomery is the odd man out. He has only had one rushing day over 70 yards all season, and since the offense started scoring 30 a game, he has averaged 3.55 yards a carry and 47 yards a game. He is on pace for a career low in attempts, yards, yards per carry, and TDs. His longest rush this year is 28 yards. Obviously he is going to command more than his rookie deal, but I can't see him getting anything like even what Conner or Fournette got (3yr, $21M). What do you think he is worth? Do you think the Bears give him that contract? I say they don't and let him walk.…
