From the Sun Times, Brown was due to get $500k base this year, but that just went up to $5m. The report says he also gets another $5m up front, which could be a signing bonus or roster bonus. Unknown at this time. He was also due a $600k (other bonus). He also still had (I think) around $1m due in bonus allocation from his original signing bonus. If it was a SB, then his cap hit jumps up to around $8.5m. If it was a roster bonus, his cap hit jumps to around $11m. Both of these are not counting the $600k "other bonus". While we tend to look at things like time to throw, running lanes and play calling, I tried to focus on why. What I found was 44 mistakes that could stand to be cleaned up. There was a post which would have brought up a discussion of the current trend of some players refusing to stand for the National Anthem. I am sure there are some strong opinions on this topic. I deleted the post simply because from past experience this would become a powder keg in short order. We try not to censor posts, we really do, but we also do not want the Bears Forum to be used to discuss topics which might be very sensitive to members and result in controversial exchanges of opinion on topics not related to football. Being stationed in Turkey means my chances are limited to see the Bears (no matter how crappy they are). I'd have to check to see for sure, but it occured to me how fragile our position maybe really is. Had Detroit been given the win on that end zone catch at the beginning of the season, we finish with the same record as GB, meaning GB probably wins the tiebreaker and we have to get a wildcard, which we would have lost to NO's better record and the Giants who destroyed us head-to-head. For how well the media liked the Bears draft, the oddsmakers do not like this team. They have the T-9th lowest win total at 7.5. With a 17 game season, that is basically the old 7-9 record for a 16 game season (so a coin toss between 8-9 or 7-10). So the Bears are going to end up with a top 10 pick? What am I missing? In terms of snap counts, they lost Trubisky, Fuller, and Leno. That is really it. No offense to Mitch, but he was a terrible QB and Foles was not much better. Dalton/Fields is at least +2-3 wins.
