A small quote from the article now posted on the Bears site: I know they said he was working on his kickoffs but wow, 7 yds deep into the end zone with 4.2 hang time. Now that is awesome. Our kickoff coverage guys will have an easy time being number one in the league if Robbie can deliver like that on a regular basis.

Watching the replay on NFLN this morning, I noticed how well rounded Forte's game really is right now as a rookie. I love how he always falls forward when running but what I really liked was his pass blocking. I only saw him whiff on a block once, the rest of the time he was picking up blitzes like a pro. My favorite Forte play though was on the interception. He never gave up on the play and ran down their corner and tackled him hard. Our defense came out and held them to a FG instead of what looked to be an easy defensive TD. I also want to recognize Idonije who continues to play his ass off despite not getting too many accolades in the press.

This is just a thought: If both Jones and Forte look good again next week, why not consider trading Jones if the opportunity occurs (say another team loses their starting rb to injury)? I would only consider this if we can get some o-line depth or a draft pick. Another idea: Same thought at D tackle. Trade Anthony Adams since we have Israel, Tunai, Harrison, Harris, and Dusty. Just a thought. Peace

I had a few observations on Urlacher tonight that I want and second opinion on. One – he looked tentative Two – he was broadcasting his intentions to the blocker right before contact. Three – was leading to contact with a turned shoulder without squaring up Four – he looked like his neck was stiff or out of whack. Five – was not shedding blocks well. If anyone recorded the game and could analyze the first two defensive series, I would greatly appreciate it. Hopefully, my eyes were playing tricks on me or I couldn’t see well on the tiny TV I have in my bedroom. Not trying to start a rumor or panic, just want clarification.

Don't know what they have to offer back but if they've got a spare really good OT we could use, do we have enough depth at DE to cover for giving Ogun up? I'd want one hell of a player for him since they're in a difficult spot too. Just a thought. Wonder what the cap issues would be?

I just watched the entire press conference and figure it's worth a new thread. Poles: For such a young man he carries himself well but he's definitely aware of how big this moment is. Whereas Eberflus is more like ... yep I've been working on this for a long time. I was surprised Poles called Matt Nagy and asked him his thoughts on the Bears and also what Nagy would have done differently. Not sure what to make of that but at a minimum it takes class and some earned respect from Nagy, to do that. I had to take a moment to collect my thoughts after he said he likes his football players fast and violent can't wait to see how that translates into our new safeties. …

*WARNING LONG POST* The Bears recent history with OCs is one of the main reasons why this team has struggled and caused so many HCs to be fired (Lovie). It has been ugly. It could be tied to the run on bad QB play, but it also could be the reason for that bad QB play. The last OC to be in position more than 2 years was Ron Turner from 2005-2009. Before Turner, you have to go back to Turner's first stint with the Bears (93-96) to find an OC that was in position for 4 years. So in the last 30 years, Ron Turner is the only OC who was in position for 4 years. John Shoop somehow lasted 3 years. He is the only other OC to be in position longer than 2 years in that win…

This was a couple days ago and leaves just one draftee, Brisker, pending. I'd expect that to be done soon but it also depends on when Brisker is available to sign if he chose to go out of town during his break. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/bears-sign-top-draft-pick-kyler-gordon

We saw some good things Monday night with our offense dominating in yards, points and TOP. When Ryan Poles told the coaching staff that it was time to access what we do best, I believe the time was right. While the outcome is something we've been looking for, it's not the model for our future success. Current success dictates that we use Justin as a weapon on the ground. While running QB's might win an MVP, none have won the Super Bowl. While Justin can have success being Lamar or Cam, his ultimate success would be Steve Young or Josh Allen. I simply don't think it's sustainable. Also, as much as I love a good run game with a back like Henry, they ain't going a…

I've had an idea circling through my brain for a couple of years now, but really haven't had the balls to let it out until now. As we know, the NFL is ever evolving. It's current evolution is quarterback centric. It shows with wins and loses and also at the bank. Through this evolution, I'm seeing something new. The run game. What if The Chicago Bears focus all of their offensive resources to assemble a running attack that no defense is equipped to stop? We already see the Eagles, Titans, Ravens, Browns, Falcons and Bears grinding teams down and winning the 4th quarter. What if we take it a step further? There's an entire scrap pile of talented player…

I see where Davis is practicing with the team now - good sign. I think the right side of our OL is going to be 90s Cowboy-like. Cant wait to see it. You could probably use Davis and Wright instead of bulldozers for the new stadium construction, wherever that's going to be.
