I think, as a Bears fan, and feeling slightly petty about things...I want both teams to lose. A - SF, while they have Robbie (and that's about the only reason I don't mind them winning), they are where we want to be. The story of how Lynch fleeced us, how we let Mostert go, etc...will be played over and over again. I kind of don't want to hear it. B - KC, yup...we will forever hear the Bears took Tru over Mahomes. That dead horse will be flogged ad nausea. Then, Tyreek Hill having domestic problems...kind of hard to root for the guy. That said, Reid seems like a likable chap, and I don't mind him finally getting one, thus validating Nagy? And Mahomes p…

http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ NO TAKERS FOR BENSON Posted by Mike Florio on June 12, 2008, 5:54 p.m. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the running back Cedric Benson was unclaimed via waivers. Every team had a crack at Benson, and could have made a claim for him through waivers. The team that landed him would have picked up the last two years of Benson’s contract, at $820,000 for 2008. As it now stands, Benson is an unrestricted free agent. He might remain on the shelf until pending legal troubles resulting from two arrests in roughly a month are resolved. Or until a team starts losing tailbacks to injury during tra…

Sounds a lot like Zombie Smith... http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+W...+It/default.htm Buffalo Nov. 13, 2008 By Matt Sohn Bills' lack of inspiring leadership holding them back Coaches often stress the importance of not getting too high or too low in response to whatever situation a team finds itself in. Dick Jauron and the Bills are doing that well … too well, in fact. In talking to sources close to the club, the lack of emotion and fiery leadership both on the coaching staff and on the roster is keeping Buffalo from escaping the doldrums of their three-game losing streak. After being praised for his calm in the pocket in a terrifically …

With the of DCs there is some doubts of how it will affect our defense. Fangio was great but remember he was the DC under Fox and it didn't look as good because the horses were not in place. Pagano comes in with the team still ascending. As the offense gets better , it will benefit the D. More ball control and more points puts the D in a better position to be more aggressive which fits Pagano to a tee. He will blitz more than Fangio. Player positions: CBs- Fuller is in his prime and should remain there for a few more years. Prince should have one more solid year before he tapers off. Callahan may be back if not , we will add a new face or go with Tolliver mor…

Did anyone pick up on something I missed? I didn't hear a definitive answer on that process. From the presser, I took away this. -They wouldn't rule out hiring a Coach first -When asked who would hire the GM and Coach, George and Teddy committed to final say on the GM but no mention of the coach -Multiple times, they commented on Accorsi being hired through the process of finding a GM and a coach -The specifically mentioned that half a dozen representatives for coaches had contacted them, and they add to the list once it's sorted out I don't know if the Bears are going to relegate to a GM the ability to hire the new coach.

He's been around the NFL draft for 57 years and has one heck of a draft database. "I can now look at my database and pull the confirmed short-shuttle or three-cone time of the 947th-ranked prospect instantaneously ... and in a matter of seconds have on my computer screen in front of me all the third-down-and-short run plays he was involved in at his Div. III school." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000080...-2017-nfl-draft I saw a few rankings that stand out from some of the mainstream: #8 overall Trubisky If he's ranked that high on the Bears board we should just draft him. ------------------------------ One thing often overlooke…

http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-bears/ta...as-been-evident Thought this was a good read. I continue to be excited what we are trying to build on the defensive side of the ball. That said, I hope we can figure out a way to find a long-term piece at QB (looking much longer term than Jay, who is fine for the next couple of years).

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Bears’ hope for Hester: Catch more passes, return fewer kickoffs Posted by Michael David Smith on April 10, 2012, 7:39 AM EDT Devin Hester may be the best return man in NFL history, but that doesn’t mean that’s his primary role in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune connects the dots with the addition of Eric Weems and Devin Thomas, two players with experience as kickoff returners, and notes that last year Johnny Knox averaged more yards per kickoff return than Hester, and says it all adds up to the Bears making Hester an integral part of the offense at wide receiver and cutting down on his kickoff returns. …

As evidenced by our recent draft we are no longer looking for players with the highest floor. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=8845 “I want the players with the high ceilings, with the largest capacity for growth,” Emery said in King's Monday Morning Quarterback column. “And I believe every aspect of that player is on tape. You can see him, you can read him.” I think this showed in our draft: Trading up for Alshon Jeffrey, taking Brandon Hardin in Rd 3. I can't see JA ever making the trade to grab Jeffrey especially if he had already made a deal to acquire Brandon Marshall. JA would have sat and waited to see who fell to him. …
