I think it's clear that he has to go. To me, it seems almost as if he has lost the locker room, and that he's been way too soft on the players. Not only were our players getting tossed around like rag dolls today, they showed no emotion and no heart. I place that directly on the HC. It's obvious he hasn't been doing a good job and the D was more successful under Ron Rivera. Change is needed and I'm all for it. While I would fire Lovie and the whole coaching staff, I would keep Angelo for at least 2 more years. As for who I would hire as a replacement for Lovie, it would likely be Cowher (if he wanted to return to the NFL). I like Spagnola, but it looks like he has p…

Noots’ Notes-Game 10: 37-3 Loss to Green Bay By Michael Nudo The Green Bay Packers (5-5) beat the Chicago Bears in every aspect of the game on Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field. The loss forced a three-way tie atop the NFC North as the Vikings were beaten by Tampa Bay. Green Bay Grants their fans a Lambeau Lambasting (AP Photo/Morry Gash). OFFENSE Quarterback A hobbled Kyle Orton (13-26-133, Fumble), got the start for the Bears. His foot was heavily bandaged. It didn’t matter. One highlight was an excellent pass to Forte to defeat a blitz on third down in Packer territory. His lowlight was a fumbled shotgun snap that was scooped up by Jason Hun…

...and to our hated rivals. Thanks Bears. Way to show your pride. This team is a joke. And we're all being played for fools. I guess we can't help it. I'll watch the downfall all season long...and just trying to enjoy what Forte and a few others bring to the show. I eagerly await our new coaching staff...which probably won't be in 3 years. Until then, it will be painful.

ZZ reported from the sideline in the 3rd quarter that Toub was livid. He walked over and pointed at Manning. Evidentally, he is tired of Devin's act on KO returns. I had called for this last week saying that Hester cannot, for whatever reason, handle all the responsibility he has. I am hoping they leave Manning on KO returns the rest of the yr. Peace

As long as we have Turner and Babich running the O and the D we will be hurting. It seem that neither can make half time adjustments or change the scheme on the fly. On offense we run the same old plays no matter what the down and distance is. No thought of using all the weapons you have i.e...Olsen Davis and Clark at TE. When was the last time you saw the 3 TE set with Davis and Olsen at receiving TE? Jones and Forte in the backfield together? Hester is the semi-wildcat? On defense we need to start someone that really wants to play and stop going through the motions. We need cover corners and not corners covered in money.Tillman and Vasher are good but just not good…

  9. Started by BearSox,

Why does Kevin Payne consistently get a free pass on this board? He's far from our biggest problem, but I don't see what everyone else sees in Payne. He is a huge liability in pass coverage, and having him and Brown both out there is hurting our pass D big time, IMO. Payne does play with a lot of heart and emotion though, and he is very solid in the run game. But we need some sort of rotation of safeties so we don't have to have two liabilities in pass coverage back there on passing downs. We need to either take out Brown or Payne and put someone with coverage skills in, but Manning sucks in coverage anyway and Steltz isn't much better, IMO. I think safety is a …

i have seen some really bad games over the years but i think this game ranks up there as maybe the worst performance ever. when there is absolutely no redemption in any aspect of the game it's truly mindboggling!! this is not disapointing it's tragic that any coaching staff could general a game like we witnessed. some ramblings: 1. defensive line... i don't ever in my lifetime remember a whole defensive line being pushed back 4 yds into the endzone in a slant block like i saw yesterday. it was like at practice shoving the sleds. every D lineman in the nfl should see this as a training film on what not to do if you expect a career in the nfl. if anyone wants…

I find it very interesting that this ENTIRE board is mum on Kyles performance yesterday. I find it admirable that he played, dont get me wrong, but his lack of mobilty restricted play action calls and roll outs. If he couldnt play at an highlevel and he knew they would have to restrict the playbook due to his injury, he should not have played. We can debate all we want about the coaches and defense, but he was simply bad yesterday. He locked on receivers, he missed open guys downfield, he threw into coverage, he had 3 ball batted down at the LOS. He produced the fewest points, yards and first downs of any Bears game this year. Although I do believe he is bet…

  13. I know BEARSDABOMB, Butkus, and a few other posters have touched on this... But it looks painfully obvious that this Bears team under Smith (and Angelo) seem to rest on their laurels. THey are all going about saying they are better than what we saw, that they are vets, yadda yadda yadda. Bottom line, that was then, this is now...and this is now started last season. This D is bad. Not even medicore. Bad. Only Mike Brown seems man enough to admit to such.

  14. I got bored and considering all the threads about firing people this week, I figured I'd take some time and give my opinion on what should be done with all of the coaches. Lovie Smith Head Coach- Over there years here, I have made it pretty clear that I hate his scheme and really just don't like him as a coach. That being said, I can't find a reason for him to lose his job, or think of a comparable firing in the NFL. I know Dungy was fired for not being able to get his team over the top, but Lovie did have this team in the Super Bowl a couple years ago and the team has been pretty successful since his tenure started here. TravD says: Keep Around B…

  15. Started by Pixote,

Here is an article from NFL.com ARTICLE ABOUT RAM INJURIES In the article it confirms Orlando Pace and Steven Jackson are both going to miss the game with the Bears and OG Incognito is undergoing a MRI and might also be out. The Rams were struggling with both players in uniform, if we can not soundly beat these guys, I am not talking about just a win, I am talking about a total domination, then we can forget the rest of the season. Hell, SFO scored 35 in the first half against them. It is time for us to step up to the plate. In the mean time MIN has to play JAX in Jacksonville and GBP has to travel to NOS. This is a very important week for us. I wil…

  18. Sounds a lot like Zombie Smith... http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+W...+It/default.htm Buffalo Nov. 13, 2008 By Matt Sohn Bills' lack of inspiring leadership holding them back Coaches often stress the importance of not getting too high or too low in response to whatever situation a team finds itself in. Dick Jauron and the Bills are doing that well … too well, in fact. In talking to sources close to the club, the lack of emotion and fiery leadership both on the coaching staff and on the roster is keeping Buffalo from escaping the doldrums of their three-game losing streak. After being praised for his calm in the pocket in a terrifically …
