This is a guy that a lot of people had pegged at points in his career as a guy with star potential. He never truly emerged into that and he had some off the field problems this past season, but as a whole he's the opposite of any WR's we have. The guy is a beast of a target with good hands and he seems to be a very good red zone target. He clearly is a step down from Holt, but again would be a significant upgrade over anyone the Bears had at the WR position last season. He's also still young enough that he could in fact have a few 900 yard plus seasons in him.

#Bears waive QB Connor Shaw. per Twitterverse I liked his potential, but with Trubisky, Glennon, and Sanchez, not much room for him.

Ask and you shall receive... http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...ml#.U9ulUFY8icM Very impressive to see how quickly Sutton is adapting and learning how to succeed against one of the better OGs in the NFL. There's a reason he got time with the 1's instead of Collins when Ratliff got a day off.

  4. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ APLinebacker Brian Urlacher isn’t the only Bears defender dealing with a lingering injury. Defensive end Julius Peppers has a case of plantar fasciitis, which caused the team to schedule regular days off during camp. Peppers wouldn’t even tell Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune which foot was bothering him, following the lead of Urlacher’s evasiveness. “I’d refer to it as soreness,” Peppers said. “General soreness.” Peppers hasn’t missed any game time this far, and looks like the same explosive player during the preseason. Bears coach Lovie Smith shrugged it off as a non-issue. “Guys f…

Getting Zack Bowman and Danieal Manning back on the field before the start of the regular season is a priority for the Bears and both are scheduled to play in Thursday night's exhibition finale against Cleveland. As they have nursed hamstring injuries, neither has played in the team's first three exhibitions. It remains unclear how much the two are expected to play at Soldier Field, although Manning is likely to see time at nickel back and not free safety. "We're going to be together at the right time," Manning said of the secondary after Sunday's game. "I know we will be ready for the regular season. I don't feel like [the defensive backs] are going to be the w…

QB Rating Calculator A bit off topic but for those who like to crunch numbers like I do I found this QB Rating Calculator and thought I would share the link with you. I have seen others in the past but this one is pretty slick, IMO.

We all know how dumb Ted Phillips is when it comes to running a football team, so we know the odds are against the firing of Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace during the season. Here's the prediction: Ryan Pace starts the job saving process, because he knows he can't get a gig anywhere else, by talking to Teddy today. After talking to Teddy, he heads to the family and grows a set of nuts to save his job. While talking to momma and George, they make the decision to fire Nagy Monday morning after a home loss to the putrid Lions. I hate to think of Pace being with the team next year, as I am fully on record against his negligence. But, if you look at it honestly, would…

His blistering 40 time at the Combine of 4.43 at 245 pounds opened eyes. For some scouts to project him to OLB is a stretch since he has never done anything other than DE. He feels he would need to add more weight to be even a situational pass rusher. Lovie went to the pro day and now he is scheduled to come to Halas Hall. The biggest knock on him is his checkered past dropping out of HS and spending time in "Juve" for what he says was "Running with the wrong crowd". He eventually got a GED and went to Mt. San Antonio JC before enrolling at W Va.

  15. Madness, to me this was all setup. Gronk retires, Brady doesn't return to NE. He has the pick of the league, picks TB, then after NE signs enough players that prevents them from taking on Gronk's contract, he magically unretires which forces NE's hand to make a trade immediately (they cannot go over the cap). To me, this seems way too convenient. Also, TB magically had enough to take on his contract.

The Official Bears site has an article showing Forte has had the franchise tag placed on him. Hopefully before long we will see an article saying he has been signed to a long term contract and the "tag" was just used to make sure he did not go anywhere while we tried to finish up negotiations. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=8669

MONEY. ladies and gentlemen, with these scab refs this is not professional football we are watching anymore. it's sandlot anything goes and there are no guidelines or foundation in reality to the games we are watching anymore. how sad is it that a multi-billion dollar a year c…
