1. Bears won cuz Manning was rusty Bogus.. Bears scored 22 Point on one the best D's in the NFL, Manning had nuttin to do with that. 2.Orton is nothing but a game manger, he did nothing special. Bogus.. Orton looked more like Manning then Manning looked like Manning. He checked defensive alignments and called plays based on thos reads. Plus if your running game rushed for almost 200 yards why change to the pass? This is a guy that a lot of people had pegged at points in his career as a guy with star potential. He never truly emerged into that and he had some off the field problems this past season, but as a whole he's the opposite of any WR's we have. The guy is a beast of a target with good hands and he seems to be a very good red zone target. He clearly is a step down from Holt, but again would be a significant upgrade over anyone the Bears had at the WR position last season. He's also still young enough that he could in fact have a few 900 yard plus seasons in him.

Its nice that we are winning, here are my thoughts. 1. Defense has shown up big time tonight. Good coaching and good blitz calls so far. Take away Peterson and make that moron quarterback try to beat us. Good to see Vasher. When our d-coordinator sets them up with good pressure our big cornerbacks are awesome. They come downhill and make big hits and are great at bad balls. Problem comes when the cood leaves them on an island cause they are not the small, fast types. We keep having vets become available. I think Decker is on the downhill slide. His injury last year is not fully recovered. I think we have thrown enough darts at the board in Cruz, Wheaton and Wright. Cruz is the only one 30 or older, so lets see how it plays out. Decker is still dealing with healing where as Cruz is one year removed from his injury. We have White and Meridith they are young and with upside so if we continue to bring in retreads it will lose snaps for the guys we need to keep moving forward. So for Decker, no.

I love what every team in our division did this year in the draft. If Harvin can keep his head on right plus Loadholt, the Vikings had a good draft. The Lions went out at got Stafford + the best TE in the draft + who I thought was the best FS. The Bears got Cutler + Moore in the 4th. The Packers got Raji and Matthews, both who can contribute right away in their new 3-4. IMO, our division as a whole had the best draft. Thoughts?

This is BearSox's Draft Discussion, and I will go over our options for each round. I guess this can be considered some what of a mock draft as well, but I'd like to have a discussion about our options and such. I'm only going to the first day for now. ROUND 1: We have a couple choices here and it looks like we can be picking in the 10-12 range as this team is brutal. One option is safety and perhaps Kenny Phillips is available here. From the Sun Times: NFL to release full schedule Tuesday The wait for the NFL schedule to be released will end Tuesday. A Bears spokesman said the league will use its television station as a platform to release the schedule at 1 p.m. The Bears know they open the season Sept. 7 against the Indianapolis Colts in the first regular-season game at Lucas Oil Stadium. This is about two weeks later than the schedule has been released in recent years. This guy had some decent seasons for Oakland and has some speed. I can see why Cincy released him as they had Green, Jones, Sanu and Tate in front of him. We are pretty thin at WR, and Moore would seem like an upgrade.
