The defense has only given up 3 TD's in 2 games. Prior to the year, everyone had this as the Bears weakness. Positives: -Peppers has been really good. -Melton has 3 sacks already. -Wooton has been solid. -McClellin is on pace for 12 sacks. -Briggs is still really good and Tillman hasn't lost a step. -Jennings...Pro Bowl? Negatives: -Paea hasn't done much. -DJ Moore seems like he's regressed. -Conte still isn't healthy, it doesn't seem. -Urlacher still isn't 100% and it's showing a bit. So, more pros than cons.

I had this penciled as a possible loss on the road to 3 and 1, but the Cutler backlash could be something that separates a loss from a lOOOOOSSSS. I hate to give up picks, but Robby Anderson is said to be out there and could be had for a day 3 pick. If he could be had for a 5th would you do it? This would allow our day 2 picks to be shifted to OL/DL/CB.

Ugh, I felt like Horsted had a lot of potential but wasn't given a fair shot. He always flashed when he got on the field. He ends his Bears career with more TDs than Kmet. It looks like Horsted failed his physical, that's interesting. I didn't know he was hurt. Rysen John was on the Giants and has never played in an NFL game yet, he is 24.

Will Fuller has gotten some buzz as a buy low candidate. Personally, I'm fine with the WRs, and I of course know the huge injury risk that Fuller is butttttt, the Bears aren't winning anything, so why not take a risk? Fuller, Mooney, and Jones with Pringle underneath could be a ton of fun to watch....for like 10 games till Fuller gets hurt.

Surprise here to see Fields ranked among the top 15. Also shocking is seeing him ranked ahead of Rodgers (14) and Stafford (22). Really interested in how people see the Bears’ CBs shaking out. Obviously help is needed but what kind of help kind of depends on how you see the current roster: Jaylon Johnson - His contract is up next year. Is he a #1 despite his lack of takeaways? Swift Sports Network put out a short video about Poles interest in Jake Witt. Seems he has been in touch with him for over a year, interviewed him, took him out to dinner, etc... Then I read an interview held with him on windycitygridiron.com. I suspect Poles will draft him with one of our 7th round picks or gamble and pick him up as a UFA. One way or another, don't be surprised if this kid doesn't wind up as a special project for Poles on our practice squad.

Here's a couple videos with some good thoughts about our running game with Braxton Jones and Darnell Wright. Glynn Morgan explains how pulling either OT could make it really hard to stop our run game. If he's right in Week 1 GB could be in for a surprise. I like Schmitz's analysis on Braxton Jones and since he covers his run blocking you can see how he was utilized last year. The assumption is we'll now be doing the same type of plays from left or right.

After the Kmet extension, $3.6M got applied to the 2023 cap, bringing the Bears cap space down to $28.4M, still the highest available cap in the NFL. The next 4 teams are the Cards with $25.9M, Jets with $23.6M, Panthers with $20.6M, and Cowboys with $19.6M. So only 2 teams over $25M and 4 over $20M left. The Bears could take on a vet for a $7.5M cap hit this year and still have the 3rd biggest cap. Poles has the Bears in a great position as they can still spend and save some to rollover for next year.
